Yo fam, I spent the worst 7 months of my life in NJ, I HATE NJ. It's a state away from my hometown New York but its like Hillbilly land in SOUTH Jersey, Back in 2012 I tried to move to North Carolina for a few years to get away and because my parents wanted to retrieve out there both were I'll so I figured I'd go out there with them help take care of them and give a cheaper easier going life s shot, 4 months in my dad died in my arms and mom hated it out there. She wanted to bounce asap so I broke my lease cause my mom wanted to move into her sisters house in NJ I went with her BUT hated it so much I left wanted back to New York so I went to a homeless shelter stayed there for a year, got a job stacked my chips and moved back to my old neighborhood in Queens, I chose a shelter over NJ, I would chose NYC prison over NJ and on my parents graves I'd choose death over NJ, I'll never live there again!

I loved this story as relentlessly cruel as it was. I had an idea for a Pine Barrens story and I'll trust you to tell me if it's stupid or not - "Interview with the Jersey Devil". I don't know, I think it has real potential. I can't write fiction worth a damn but if you or anyone you know does have the Gift I would be honored if they use the idea. He is a mysterious creature who I'm sure would have many tales to say. And he's even a tiny bit tragic. Anyway just a thought.
I usually don't pay much attention to the authors of these and know I should. Do you write any of yours ? No matter how much I want to and try I just can't write fiction. I can't bring characters to life or give them a natural way of speaking. I think this means I'm a sexual predator. I have tried and at the wrong side of 50 I can say with confidence I will never be the next John Updike (a less devastating conclusion than you might imagine). To compensate I'm writing the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire from the perspective of a resentful high school kid who can't leave detention until he writes a paper on this ridiculously vast subject. Like me he has superficial knowledge of it and just makes sh-t up when it comes to details. Mostly the writer likes getting hammered and being an overall dick to anyone he's bigger than. The odds of it being published are zero but I can entertain myself for hours. Please excuse the length of this. I started having panic attacks even before the pandemic and now they're chronic. If I don't want to drug myself writing is the only thing that helps it and since you have the voice of someone it seems like i've known for decades but not ACTUALLY known if that makes sense I thought writing all this to you was plain common sense.

Can You write a story based in New York City In the great depression era. I'm from New York and I figure if you write about the worst state in the country which is right next to us maybe you will give NYC a story.
My grandpa lived in Hells kitchen in Manhattan during those times and prohibition He said kids would play in puddles of blood on the streets and he wasnt joking.
"Americans are so...unrefined." haha! Love that! People don't have manners or etiquette these days. Even the elderly have regressed into uncouth creatures. I get the occasional "thank you" but never a "please" or "pardon me". It's not weakness to have manners, but more of an expression of higher intelligence and grace. And if grace isn't a sort of refined way of moving about or speaking, I'm not sure what is. Take care! 💋
I can just about guarantee you're pronouncing it wrong. It's written "Daddy" but in the south, where I'm SURE this story is from, you say it like "Deddy"
