So many hours of my childhood playing this game coop with my buddy. We went nuts when we saw the sequel at blockbuster one day, I loved discovering the different versions on the NES, Game Boy & Genesis years later on the emulators
We rented this game so many times as a kid that I think we probably could have just bought it. It was one of those games that was always there and if there wasn't anything more interesting we would get this.
"Inside a living creature's guts" is probably my favorite level theme, even beating "You are tiny inside a house/in a giant's house" and "Standard issue forest/plains"
34:34 - 😮 When I was a kid-probably in 87 or 88-I invented a caveman game I called "The Tar Pits". It was not long after the NES came out and I was playing Super Mario Bros. non-stop. It was essentially Joe & Mac, but several years before it came out. I remember I sketched out several levels on paper. I don't remember having as many powerups; I think basically he just had a club to attack. But I even had "warp pterodactyls" that could take you ahead within a stage (like vines & coin heaven in SMB), or take you to another stage altogether (like warp zone pipes).
What i love best about these walkthroughs is the insight we get about the history of the game about to be covered during the intro, very interesting stuff, i wish i had known about this channel a long time ago, this is by far some of the best gaming content on youtube. Huge thanks to all the hard work you put into these videos, this is amazing stuff you do bro.
for somebody who absolutely loves video games I just want to say thank you for all the work that you do and for helping everyone in the community or outside of the community in closing I just want to say you have a very calm voice and it's great to watch these to fall asleep to but sometimes I end up watching them all the way through because it's just so fascinating I love these games and they are staple of my childhood so thank you again for all the work that you do
You sir, are doing God's work. Nostalgia keeps us young at heart. I'm so curious about how you approach each new project. For example, roughly what % of these titles were u previously well acquainted with, & how often do you play a game for the 1st time to break down & make a vid? Keep up the great work!
One of my all time SNES favorite!s I would always play as Joe he was my favorite caveman! Just the facial expressions on the characters faces makes the game comedic! The dinosaurs were awesome especially the boss fights. Another great game to revisit is Super Double Dragon 🐉
Haven’t played or beaten this game in ages, was stuck on the last bosses. This helped very nicely/I might attempt on hard for the first time ever now. Thank you sir!
I've had the Retro-Bit "Joe & Mac Collection" for several years now and I've only tested the three games on it, but now this video has made me want to actually play it and complete the game, on my own the first time around of course ;) Great video!!
I was a Sega Genesis, Dreamcast guy, BUT I also had my Nintendo NES, my Super NES, and later the N64. Nintendo had some amazingly awesome looking adventure games. They had the 2D side scrolling adventure games perfected! It was truly awesome to play and watch. Sega has some great ones too. Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse was one of my favorites on either system. However I loved sports games like NHL Hockey, PGA Tour ⛳Golf⛳, and of course the Madden Football games. NBA Showdown was a epic Super Nintendo game though. Everyone was warring over which was better, but I loved them both. Actually I liked all three, the TurboGraphx-16 was also a fun system. Bonk's Adventure was another of my favorites! These games bring back some great memories, and some frustrating moments as well. But boy were they fun! Nowadays you get games released that aren't even finished yet. They require "patches" or updates. Trying to eliminate physical media, which I will NOT support. I've had too many single games have their online servers shut down and thereby the games useless. What happens when say an entire company closes it's doors? It's why I'm passing on these newer systems and getting the Retro consoles back!
This is one of my favorite snes games. Played it a lot as a kid. After many years i finally got to that bonus stage in lava level. Didn't know campfire was enemy.
this might be an unpopular opinion, but i simply love the intro section where he talks about the game more than the whole video, i am sure the walkthrough is the most important part, but i ADORE the first part the most, it is well written and well narrated and just so calming .
The sequel was one of the games I looked for at Blockbuster EVERY TIME I went... I accidentally kept the instruction book and still have it 😁 so glad it finally came out on the SNES classic!
10:40 - The pink pterodactyl that takes you to the secret area would only appear if you hit the red egg AFTER de-spawning the water geysers on the left, since the water geysers are considered enemies on-screen.
I took care of some children who was a good friend of my mother. All I had to do to take care of them was to play this game with him. We had lots of fun. Sadly his mother committed suicide some years later. I won't forget the good times we had together. RIP Sarah. Love David and Andrew and Roland. Thanks UCBVG.
Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja and U Can Beat Video Games A classic like burger and fries or peanut butter and jam. I always watch, but I like it best when you cover a game I have! Finally, after all these years I can see the other half of the game! (Bonus levels)
Wow I had no idea you had to wait for all of the enemies to clear before striking that red egg. I thought it was just random whether or not the pink pterodactyl took you to the bonus area. Thanks UCBVG!!
I remember being fascinated by this game as a kid. Eventually a friend lent it to me (I couldn’t afford it) and got destroyed almost immediately. Harsh reality of growing up. Don’t remember how far I got but I know it wasn’t far! Gorgeous looking game though
Awwwwllllllllright. Loved this game as a kid. Your channel is awesome, bud. I even use it as background noise when gaming out. SUPER CASTPEVANIA IV WHEN?! (just kidding. You don't deserve the madness of.playing through that nightmare. Dracula X is easier)
You ever thought of doing Milon's Secret Castle? It reminds me of Clash at Demonhead in a few ways. Progressing can be fairly cryptic. Seems right up your alley.
Actually, the Genesis version was released after the SNES version in January of 1994. And the Genesis version was developed by Eden Entertainment Software. Btw, thanks for another awesome video!
One of the first snes I ever played. I loved the colorful sprites and the overall humor of the game. I never played the arcade or Sega Genesis game before, but years later I did and I must say I prefer the Sega Genesis better because the gameplay is more fast paced, the snes version feels too slow. Another great video as usual!
I'm commending your restraint in not saying "Nice" after mentioning this game was number 69 on a list. Well done. Looking forward to watching the rest of the video, as I've never actually seen this game.
I love this game, it has it all, I've played it hundreds of times and would play it again. I think this Super Nintendo version is better than the Arcade version because it's less difficult.
Hey thanks! A good chunk of this stuff I didn't even know were possible, like that egg at the beginning of the game. I thought the devs put that there as a joke, I didn't know you could hop on the pterodactyl's back 😅
I always love the historical intros and the informational side bar during gameplay. Such quality editing.
This channel does walkthroughs the right way. Love it
This channel is so cozy, like a warm blanket on a cold winter day. I absolutely love it. A preemptive congrats on 100k subs!
Fighting that Mammoth after it’s face gets torn off is one of the most surprisingly disturbing boss fights I’ve ever seen 😅
I was JUST talking about this the other day, LOL. It just comes out of nowhere, and is quite startling.
I’ve never played this game but I think if I saw that as a child I’d be shaken
@@Hummingbird78 i did but never got that far, I would be shooketh as well
Pics or it didn't happen

So many hours of my childhood playing this game coop with my buddy. We went nuts when we saw the sequel at blockbuster one day, I loved discovering the different versions on the NES, Game Boy & Genesis years later on the emulators
Man, my friends and I wore this game out and I played it so much. The boss faces always made us crack up.
We rented this game so many times as a kid that I think we probably could have just bought it. It was one of those games that was always there and if there wasn't anything more interesting we would get this.
Love how you referenced Little Shop of Horrors during the second boss.
"Inside a living creature's guts" is probably my favorite level theme, even beating "You are tiny inside a house/in a giant's house" and "Standard issue forest/plains"
One of my favorite games as a kid. My neighbors mom saw us playing the last level against the devil boss and she wouldn't let them play it anymore
Even though he was clearly the bad guy, and they were fighting him. lol
@@caucasoidape8838 haha yea, they were really religious, hear no devil, see no devil, fight no devil I guess haha
At least it was biblically consistent with men living along-side dinosaurs 😆
@@JPBrooksLive hahaha
I know the feeling. My friends parents saw the cover of Castlevania 1 on the NES and said it was demonic and took it.
Wow! A great game walkthrough and a paleontology lesson at the same time! This channel just keeps getting better and better 😊

This reminds me of "Big Nose the Caveman" by Codemasters. Loved that game as a kid.
This game brings back so many memories. It was a great multiplayer game I loved to play with my friends. Thanks again for the awesome content.
The 100th episode last week was great and the best ever episode in my opinion. This one is going to be good as well.
LOL at the Duke reference during the final boss. Nice job. Christian Latner lol
Yooo new release! I was just saying how I've been getting stoned all weekend and binge-watching these, only for the mad lad to drop another one on us.
This was a game I wanted back in the day but never got due to personal budget constraints. Thanks for another fun video that let me see what I missed.
Haven’t played or beaten this game in ages, was stuck on the last bosses. This helped very nicely/I might attempt on hard for the first time ever now. Thank you sir!
10:45 its because you have to clear all enemies on screen to spawn a bonus level, and the geyser is considered an enemy.
Fire too
One of the first games we owned for the snes, and was my favourite for years!
I've had the Retro-Bit "Joe & Mac Collection" for several years now and I've only tested the three games on it, but now this video has made me want to actually play it and complete the game, on my own the first time around of course ;)
Great video!!
It makes me so happy that you reviewed this gem. My brother's and I played this game almost as much as Mario world when we got our snes in 92
Thanks again for another entertaining Sunday afternoon. Sadly, I didn't have or play this game growing up but still, I appreciate what you do.
You’re the man! I finally beat Kid Icarus yesterday thanks to you!
Hard game, I remember it taking forever to beat when I was a kid. That's a real badge of honor!
@@billlyons7024 Yeah, thanks- he gave me the inside info about powering up on level 1 first
Great video! I love your commentary humor strategically interspersed throughout.
Never knew this was in arcade, loved the SNES game, can't wait to see you beat it.
Thaaaaank you! Even my SNES friends haven't heard of this game, I loved it.
This was my absolute favorite game when I was a child me and my dad played it together all the time
Now this is a game that I beat many times as a kid. I currently have the gameboy version and it's actually not bad.

UCBVG finally making these weird Nintendo Switch Online re-releases worth playing! Can’t wait for the videos on Psycho Dream and Super Valis IV.
The sequel was one of the games I looked for at Blockbuster EVERY TIME I went... I accidentally kept the instruction book and still have it 😁 so glad it finally came out on the SNES classic!
I beat this game so many times as a kid I loved it. I bought it on a whim.
I loved charging up the weapons in the arcade game but oh well, we can't have everything nice in life.

Actually, it made me play Joe and Mac. Thanks looking forward for another game to beat.
Never heard of this one or its series, but I would've loved it! Thanks!
This game had me beat as a kid. Thanks for making it look so easy.
Very well done here, I have watched a few other videos. I'm liking this channel, it's informative.
