Great video Tom! I reviewed the passenger version of the Caddy in my channel, and I must say I was very impressed with the new design and style. It looked very special! The interior was amazing in style! However for its price I did find it under equipped and there was nothing for the rear seat passengers. I couldn't even open the rear passenger window because there wasn't any ability to. But okay, I must say the style was promising
Does anyone know of the horrendous injector problem from the 1.6 MK3 Caddy era was solved by the time the MK4 Caddy was introduced? If yes I presume the injectors on the MK5 Caddy Commerce must be at last fit for purpose?
Hi Tom you forgot to mention the armrests and another pocket on the right of the steering wheel lower down.. It's a lovely van to drive big improvement but vw need to improve reliability big time. New clutch after just 70km is not on
I had one of these on an extended test drive over the weekend and I have never driven a van that is so uncomfortable and harsh with the ride. It’s almost like the rear end has no shock absorbing at all. They have ruined the rise in these to the point I may look elsewhere. I did notice it had some crappy Giti Tyres on it so let a few psi out to see if that made a difference which it did a bit but still nowhere near as comfortable as previous gens.
It's half golf, half transit connect. Subframe, steering rack, gearbox, front struts all vw I am led to believe. I still want to see how it suits once were out of lockdown and I can take one for a drive.
Payload is an odd one and of course an option should be offered which can carry more. Truth be told in this overly packaged world, volume matters more, especially if you are a courier. You could cram three tonnes of heavy c*** in that space and stuff the suspension but that is not how these are used. My van is always full up, as a courier, and rarely has more than 250 Kg in it.
Caddy van 2022 10,000 miles auto pro SWB been back 3 times to main dealer problems with digital instrument cluster monitor . Hear a clicking sound may be 6/8 times over a week then says SOS EMERGENCY CONTACT DEALER . Taken in to dealer (reset) so they say not got a direct answer to the problem and why this happens . Happened again this week this time says loading setting's been on this for the past 4 days ROUND AND ROUND . Had no radio no aircon and also a new light central warning amber colour . For a new vehicle more problems them i have ever had going back again on 16/1/23 . Driven caddy's for over 20 years ANY ANSWERS OR JUST A BAD BUY
This van is ugly, dreading the new connect. Hopefully Ford can sport it up a bit like the current 2020/21 connect sport. For the sale of miss understanding me - yes I know Ford and VW did a joint van. I’m hoping the Ford grille and bumper transform the van.
My VW Caddy had 12 injectors changed and it has only done 57,000 miles. Never again a VW for me. There is no mention of this in the review even though it is common knowledge in the trade. It is this connection with the vow that prevents me to purchase the Ford. Why do the reviews never give honest views? Perhaps because it is sponsored by the manufacturers and those doing the reviews have sold their souls kissing the backside of those paying them to do the review.
Made in PL... I'll never ever buy any crap made in this country, from my cinquecento to my astra, barely all my cars were made here and they was a total disaster
Cabin look smaller than my 2014 highline and looks more cheaper as well . You don't need to place for paper in 2022 . The head storage allows me to have a tyre pump ,rachets as well the spanner for the wheels plus a first aid box and a dogbowl. And still no where to put your phone. Plus media plsyer look lacking . Shouldnt have to replaced a media player on a new vehicle but clearly you do. Front look ugly as well. Id rather have 2019 last true caddy then this ugly ford

I enjoyed watching the Video Review. The New Model looks even better now
Please how do you reset the speed limiter as it was set to 65miles hour when i got it 2021 vw caddy thank you
Compared to my 2014 caddy Highline the cabin looks very plastic but the wide side doors look and great improvement.
Does anyone know of the horrendous injector problem from the 1.6 MK3 Caddy era was solved by the time the MK4 Caddy was introduced? If yes I presume the injectors on the MK5 Caddy Commerce must be at last fit for purpose?
The background music is a bit distracting Tom! Thanks for the review
Tom here: Noted! Cheers for the feedback.
Agree with you
Please how do you reset the speed limiter as it was set to 65miles hour when i got it 2021 new caddy vw caddy thank you no answers
the question is which small van is the best???
@ 5 ft 11 I had to take the bulkhead out of the previous model to get a comfortable driving position.....what about the new model?
What headlight bulbs does it take? I know in this version it's halogen, but what type? H7 for both daytime/far range lights and normal lights?

Nice honest review Tom, well done
Tom here: Thanks for that comment. Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it.

Good to see the caddy still had rock hard suspension, compared to the Connect.
Tom here: Yep, shakes the bones, pal.
Next Connect will share the platform
Different strokes, I’d rather have firm suspension and corner better. If I wanted to drive slowly I’d stick with my transit.
what spec/ trim level is this van you are reviewing?
You said this van is based on the golf chassis? No way that can be true that is a transit connect rebadged
Tom here: Haha, it does look it. But no, it's based on the Golf platform. What an evolution, eh?
It's half golf, half transit connect. Subframe, steering rack, gearbox, front struts all vw I am led to believe. I still want to see how it suits once were out of lockdown and I can take one for a drive.
@@leahmaree123 we’re not in lockdown
No roof rails?
Caddys don’t tend to come with roof rails

Tom here: Fascinating insight there, David. Really appreciate that.
Many of us will use these in construction and be carrying cement or screed and easily overload it.
Umm I get 45mpg from my transit custom I sure as shit hope I don't get 35 - 45 from the caddy like you suggest

The 4wd have no automatic gearbox! Very pity.
It make happy moment for me
Tom here: Good stuff.

for a moment I thought I am at carwow 🙄
Which moment?
3 litre v6 would be better
Tom here: Well... there is that. Drove past a V6 Amarok the other day. Little tear rolled down my cheek...
Greate video. But Caddy is a bad car. There is nothing in the world that made it worth it.
Made in PL... I'll never ever buy any crap made in this country, from my cinquecento to my astra, barely all my cars were made here and they was a total disaster
MICRO CAMPER
Tom here: Totally. I've had so many people suggest it. I'd love to see a conversion.
Looks like a glorified tablet on wheels..
