I used some of these cards today as I upgraded my Kaalia deck. Hellkite Tyrant single handedly won me the game. I smacked every player and took soon awesome artifacts. This was my first deck ever built and she’s still so much fun to play.
Its so true about the card draw, my earliest memories with this precon was, i put Griselbrand with Kaalia ability an activated hom 3!! Times before i found next target for Kaalia. And bsck then i ran not only Armageddon but Decree of Annihilation as well, to bypass conterspells
heyho, i like 3c commanders, but my builds are mostly focused on mono-tribes in that 3c base. so i went for demon-tribe with big disgusting creatures. protectionspells in white and a few red drw spells. also going with a balthor for recursion. (dragin mage was the only one dragon bec of reasons ^^)
Love your videos, I've built your Aurlock and Jared Carthalion decks in paper. Kaalia is my favorite commander also. This is a great list! I run Necropotence instead of Phyrexian Arena and have managed to kill myself as a result so I'm thinking of adding Piru the Volatile. Anyway thanks for the videos, I really appreciate how you clearly say every card and show the card image, I wish all mtg TH-camrs did that!
Nice timing as well, seeing that Kaalia's getting a reprint in MH3. I Have a Kaalia deck of my own but it's built from a ailed attempt of an angel deck i once had, i didn't like how it turned out and when i saw Kaalia, my friends made it their mission to both help me make it and to stop me. XD At the moment i am looking at some major upgrades for her, since my tech choice is angels and i need some better ones to replace some of the mediocre ones i still have. BTW: i have hellkite tyrant in my own build and my friends instantly make me a threat because their own decks are artifact heavy.
There is A LOT of cards over $40… however I’d say my list is probably about 80%-90% the same. One of my favorite cards in the deck is possibility storm… cause I don’t cast stuff unless I need to put something out before attacks….also I run unburial rights and Phyrexian reclamation over the Angel (9 drop, idk why I can’t recall her name, really love the card though) because I found most times in my old pod it was about 5-7 vs me… my deck would get thin and I needed cards out my graveyard.
How are you not playing Kaalia, Zenith Seeker?! That's a pretty hefty refill and good for turns where your Kaalia was removed and now costs more than you can afford that turn (like bumped from 4 to 6 when you're on 5 mana). Easy to play Kaalia, Zenith Seeker plus a mana rock or something, get at least 6 cards closer to Dragon Mage, and grab a couple more threats, possibly even draw 3.
Kaalia zenith seeker is mediocre draw 0-3 in thus deck. Zenith seeker is better as a commander if a unique deck, which is basically the same deck but without archenemy title attached to your head.
This is amazing. I've only been playing over a year and these videos help out so much and your list on what you should have in your deck is absolutely amazing to have. Thank you so much for making these videos 😊
Exactly the thing that happened to me after building the deck, either I play it early and pray no counterspell / removal or sit on my hands waiting for mana to properly get a swing out, but by the time that happens I’m knocked out of the game because Kaalia is scary and I’ve done nothing for 6 turns
This is a great list, but I seriously don't understand the big deal about fetch lands. Why not just put more of the dual lands with both types or more basics?
Congrats on the milestone! Also the title should: Let's Build a Kaalia How to Lose Your Friends Commander Deck lol
Great video! I'm currently building my own Kaalia deck, and this video made the process a breeze, thank you!
Congratulations on the big milestone !!!!
One of my most favorite decks to play is the Scarab God deck you made, so much fun!
Congrats on the milestone!! SO happy you didn't quit, you've made so many of my key decks that are a blast to pilot :D

Bro Im pretty sure im the guy you just beat no freaking way. Was it an eldrazi deck and a food token deck you were vs?

Just placed my bids on eBay. Best of luck to you!
Been dying to build her, so glad about the reprints that let me finally get my hands on her 😭

Reya Dawnbringer. I'm an old-school player, so she's got a special place in my heart.
isnt land destruction, mana crypt and dockside banned? if thats the case, what else would you put?

Aren't you running too few protection? I feel like Kaalia is just going to be removed.

Fetchlands help with color fixing. There are plenty of times in a 3 color deck where you find yourself with access to only one or two of your colors.
