The FIDE World Championship 2024 match is the first in 138 years to feature two contestants from Asia, the reigning World Champion, China’s Ding Liren and challenger Dommaraju Gukesh from India competing for the title and a prize fund of US$2.5 million.
The schedule of the World Championship match takes place over 3 weeks, with 14 match days and 4 rest days planned. All games start at 17:00 local time (2.30 p.m. IST) and there are rest days after Games 3, 6, 9 and 12. The first player to reach 7.5 points will be the winner; in the case of a tie after 14 games, tiebreaks will be played the next day to decide the winner.

Ding Liren's accuracy so far(according chess24 engine):
game 1: 96(97 according to some sources)
game 2: 97
game 3: 89
game 4: 99(100 according to FIDE)
game 5: 98
So far Ding's average accuracy is almost 96%, worst is 89 and best is 99. It is hard to believe it is the same Ding that we
saw the whole year. So far, this is actually a much higher performance than what made him world champion against Nepo. There
Ding played with 93% accuracy; his lowest accuracy game was 84, and his best was over 99. Even in game 3, Ding didn't make any blunder except Rh8-h5 , which wasn't that big a blunder.
Gukesh D's accuracies are 87,96,97(96 according to some sources),99(100 according to FIDE),98.
Gukesh's average accuracy is over 95, lowest is 87 and highest is 99.
Yet, some "high and mighty" players are sitting there and criticizing this match as "not worthy" of world championship. Just
as a reminder or for comparison- Nepo had a 72% accuracy game against Magnus.
I think this match will turn in its second half. Players usually break after game 6 according to history of world championships. We will get to know the mental resilience of the players soon!

If anyone could have won this game, it was Ding and he lost two opportunities to win. BF3 and Gukesh was sitting duck. Would have lost. Even the middle game Ding had a slight advantage. His pieces were more coordinated.
He should better play French defence and never go for open French.
More pieces on the board, better will be Gukesh. No early queen and rook trade for him. He was playing for a draw, which is criminal with white pieces.

Those who believe Ding is actually "back in his form" Yes ding is playing better than how he played throughout the year but I feel it's only because he is pushing himself alot as it's WCC but I think he will crack as soon as he start losing 1-2 games or tiredness will get to him. Even I want Gukesh to win but those of you who got into chess during pandemic you have no clue how good he was. He was one of the top 3 players in the world beautiful playing style and one of those players who was not scared to take on magnus and draw very easily(and win against him few times as well). Magnus not playing WCC is not the only reason why every top player think they can be WC it's also because ding is not in the form and he'll loose against someone who is not that strong.
It is not Gukesh fault that Ding is not in the form so if Gukesh win the match then he should be given credit and respect as he qualified for the candidates then won the candidates and now can win the WCC (I hope he does 🙏)
