- Samay Raina is well-known in the chess world as someone who made chess very popular among the masses. Although he is not rated as per FIDE, he is day by day working on his chess and getting very strong. On 18th of March after Gukesh did a 21-board simul, he was greeted by Samay back at Amruta and Sagar's home! This game took place where Samay has 10 mins, Gukesh has 2 mins. Of course, Gukesh being world no.18 and a super GM, was the favourite, but as the title of the video suggests - Never understimate Samay Raina!

Yep, Samay is not Hikaru where he can find the best or even good move while being distracted. Even GMs find it difficult to focus with non stop chatter around them (even if it is a friendly match)

I am going to commend Samay for his attitude. So polite even in this chaos. I have been watching his chess streams recently and I can say that his attitude is what makes him special.
He could have actually gotten angry and made a fuzz about people blabbering around but he was calm and was focusing on the chess. And played an amazing line!

I remember once I was playing vishy, I was white. After 17 moves, I was +6 but then he showed his class and the game was drawn, after 41 moves.
We shook hands and discussed the game for 10 min straight. I wasn't able to stop thinking about it for days. I felt so bad.

Even though it was a friendly inconsequential game, Amruta's attempts to distract Samay when Samay was +2 and Sagar indirectly assisting Samay "this is the best position you are ever going to get against Gukesh", the eval bar swings from +1 to -2. are some questionable moments during the game. The audience should have maintained silence

Things were interesting themselves, there was no need of additional "comments" just not letting the viewers view peacefully and even Samay Yaarrr! Qxd5 was likely a mistake. I would have gone for something like f5, rf1, and then attempted to get the second rook into the game. Black's king was too exposed, bad bishop on c8 and rook a8. With correct play, white had fantastic winning chances. Always need to remember the consequences of opening up files and diagonals. When your opponent is cramped, keep him cramped.

Gukesh beats Carlsen. Here people are hyping Samay up. The distractions were there for both no? In a silent setting Gukesh would concentrate even harder and tougher to challenge.

Are you seriously gonna compare Gukesh who is india's number one, a guy who has been playing profesionally his entire life, to samay who has just started playing seriously only a few years ago. Seriously? Gukesh could play chess in a vegetable market and win against a low rated player but he was clearly in trouble against Samay. While Samay as a low rated player needs to focus more... Samay hasn't even played in any official FIDE tournaments. The noise amd chaos clearly gave Gukesh an advantage.
