Yes, and because he's been there before, against Magnus, and this time, against Ding... And he still didn't manage to win 😢 I was rooting for Ding, because I normally wants to see the underdogs to win, but Nepo is clearly the better player (most of the time), from the candidates and from previous 14 games, he was always the one leading, but he always couldn't find the finishing blow and Ding escaped from heavy injuries so many times, but in the end they drew the results of the 14 games and Ding managed to win one game in rapid and he's now the World champion... I was hoping that this year would be Nepo's and perhaps the next year Ding can win the candidates again and challenge Nepo AGAIN to win the WCC then!! So heartbreaking for Nepo!!

Ding may have shown moments of emotional vulnerability, but his mental fortitude is truly exceptional. Despite a challenging start in the candidates' tournament, he managed to turn the tide. At one point, even Caruana suggested it was primarily a contest between Nepo and himself, yet Ding's unyielding determination propelled him back into the race. Even when Nakamura appeared to be the likely contender for the second-place finish on the final day, Ding persisted. Nakamura's unexpected blunder in a potentially draw-worthy position became a turning point. Ding's journey to the World Championship match itself is a testament to his unwavering resolve. He continued to grind through the game when many, including his opponent, had seemingly moved on. It's hard to find a more fitting term than 'iron-will' to describe his ability to persevere against the odds.

The first time I cheered for both players playing the WCC. I rooted for Nepo after the devastating loss against Magnus but you can never hate Ding playing the best games of his career. If only they can both win.

I like how Ding says a big NO to settling for a draw and went balls deep for the win. So much more exciting and satisfying way to be crowned world champion. This one will go down in history as one of the most amazing plot twists ever! 🤘🏻😎

Liren won the World Chess Championship!
He's such an amazing player and he's worked
so hard for this. It's really inspiring to see
someone achieve such a big goal like this,
and I'm sure it will motivate other players to
keep working hard too. Congratulations to
Ding Liren on this huge accomplishment, he

I can feel Ian's heartbreak, I'm quite certain he just wants to punch or smash something (Not Ding of course, I'm sure Ian won't go that far) when he knocked over the pieces. It's that frustration and hopelessness of not being able to do anything anymore.

In the last game when the pass pawn created in the A column it was very obvious the black had a strong advantage. After this all of the white's game was passive. And yet the analysts were talking about a draw even at later stages. I was sooo pissed off with these people, and as a chess player myself I'm surely rated below 1000.
