You plan on doing this again anytime soon? btw I saw Pokisol (a Dead Rising speedrunner) do a true 100% (all achievements) speedrun and it took him 20 hours.
Those are probably tool assisted runs with time skip and stuff and on pc this is on xbox but yeah someday I'll go back to this will probably try a run for off the record when I do
@@zxkombat7488 Nah. Poki did a true 100% run without timeskip. Just search Dead Rising True 100% speedrun. It’s in two parts. He did do some with TimeSkip as well tho
@@zxkombat7488 and to get PP collector and Unbreakable in the same run, Pokisol just completed overtime mode alone a second time after doing overtime mode the first time.
That's awesome they did it! The goal of my run was to do everything possible in 72 hour mode not a platinum trophy run

You just have to make a new account and put it on your Xbox! Not sure how it works on other consoles or PC

i don't get your routing at all. since you're on rails for the first 6 hours, the only thing that adds time is loadscreens, so they should be minimized as much as possible, especially with your genocider farming. i think the optimal route through 72 hour mode for saint and avoid loadscreens looks something like:

i'm not really thinking this routing makes genocider particularly easy, so that's a consideration for alterations (though i would use the truck and white car before returning to leisure park for the red car) and i'm a little iffy on which survivors take priority spawning on days 2-3. not sure when best to kill cletus or the convicts, various options. also taking so many large survivor groups around the mall is a pain in the ass, especially because you're frequently entering the maintenance tunnels via entrances that aren't next to vehicles, but you also are on rails so there's a lot of leeway.
you also could get more style points for like 100% pp stickers and other silly things you can do in the mall and absolutely don't need the books that get you additional pp.
From what I'm learning zombie genocider karate champ item smasher and marathon runner are the ones that make or break the run and how I have it set up there is no down time unless I'm waiting for a call from Otis at the elevator.
also I want to add in all the survivor requests and the little things in the mall but I want to get a better optimized run before I do that
marathon runner can be done with a shopping cart I'm focusing on the weaker basic zombies to kill with the jump kick attack and it's hard to tell for genocider but if you use all 3 cars you can kill about 1200 and less loads but if you use the two cars it's about 800 to 1000 and I think it might be the faster option but I haven't had the interest to just do a genocide run to figure it out yet lol for item smasher I'm just trying to break as much stuff before I resort to the fish in the supermarket but I'm positive only certain items count towards it I tried smashing wine bottles and paint cans for a hour didn't work
I feel like the fastest this run will be completed is around 6 hrs 30min maybe a little less when it's fully optimized
@@zxkombat7488 6:30ish sounds about right as that'd be 6 hours for 72 hour mode, 20 mintues for overtime, and about 10 minutes of loadscreens.
i'm pretty sure item smasher requires hitting a zombie with the object and i'm not sure thrown items count even if they connect with a zombie.
and yeah, marathon runner is definitely one of the big hurdles but it's achievable in 72 hour mode. are you sure shopping carts count, because i'm pretty sure skateboards don't and you use the skateboard a lot? i also don't think jumping counts so you're much better off just walking than jump walking even though these movement methods are slower. you're really not in a rush to get anywhere most of the time so an increase to movement speed isn't worthwhile if it doesn't count towards marathon runner. loading screens also have no impact on any of this.
i end up with a good in game hour or two of downtime in 72 hour mode in my run, and do a lot more, so there is more leeway than you think (though i'm not single segment so i can take riskier escort routes, but slower escorts still mean more steps). karate champ is tedious but not a make or break imo, the big one is figuring out a genocider route that minimizes loadscreens.
@@wfchannel4673 yeah the shopping cart works I did a normal playthrough a while ago and just ran around with the cart it works and for item smasher weapons make a unique sound when they break and that counts towards the achievement so pretty much the plants around the mall and the barrels in the food court are the optimal choice
I drop the skateboard after I get Sophie the way I do the beginning group of survivors makes it so I don't deal with the convicts and Kent is pretty much free if you get the pics with out him running away Im also able to work on item smasher and marathon runner with the free quick steps and a shopping cart I just run through the tunnels to kent before I get bill watching from 17:00 to 37:00 should give you a better idea of what I'm saying I also don't use Sophie for Frank the pimp but after I drop off the first group of survivors I have 1 last quick step to run to the tunnels to get a free car spawn from the first night cutscene that shows the zombie eyes turn red you can get another free car spawn from the military arriving as well
@@zxkombat7488 the plants and barrels should count and they're great but i think the fish are faster as barrels and plants have very long pick up and attack animations. the paint and tvs don't look like they count.
i guess i'll take your word for the shopping cart. if they do count, running around the maintenance tunnels with them at various points would probably be pretty beneficial. you do a lot more skateboarding than you think. i also am not sure quickstep necessarily counts either or for that matter walking while talking on the phone (which would suck, but whatever). there's a lot of testing i'd want to do on what does and does not count towards marathon runner as it is a pretty important and pretty grindy element.
yeah, i've watched about half the run so far. your frank the pimp route is whatever. i think you want to limit how much you enter the security room with survivors in tow overall as i think the clock stops during their "thank you" screen but again tricky to route around, especially when you're trying to only take certain survivors (i've found separating and abandoning them in the warehouse can be easier than separating them on the rooftop, the cutoffs in the warehouse regarding following and staying are the yellow box outside the elevator and that yellow line in the hallway) the kent route is definitely extra load screens and suboptimal as is rescuing burt and aaron and then going back for leah. he definitely should be got at a point where you're more naturally in paradise plaza as it's a very large window. there's a lot of this you judiciously want to trim. i think you're sticking to the route because you like it not because it's that optimized.
I'm down to change the route just need more time to practice need to set up saves and all that fun stuff but I'm also on console I'm thinking about getting a PC soon just for the faster loads and to change the time for practice just been sticking to this because it's what I know I already knew I would have to change things after my last run lol
And yeah I was messing around last night was thinking I could just take a shopping cart over by the red sports car until Leah spawns but for what I have planned need to figure out how long bill stays in the closet and try to save him during Carlito maybe he teleports to the safe room with me ?? Just need to figure some things out because I think I have to start on genocider while waiting for Adam and all the other survivors to spawn and for Frank the pimp I can cut down the time by bringing all 3 male survivors with me it's just harder to get them all in at once but something to keep in mind I'm pretty sure male survivors move faster than females just something I noticed a while ago doing that achievement I may need to check out your run to see what you're doing for everything it's been a while sense I seen it I'm sure we will get this run perfected soon the goal is all survivor requests 45/50 achievements all stoves and ovens used shoot the plates spin the racks ride the coaster ill do my best on the pp stickers but no promises it takes time to focus that camera and some are really odd
