The mole on the other cheek was a take off on Igor's hump in Young Frankenstein where the hump changes sides and Igor also says "What hump?" after Frankenstein says that he can fix that hump.

"Unlike other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent" was a direct jab at Kevin Costner, who didn't even try to do an accent when he starred in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", which is the movie that this movie is a parody of.

If you like George Carlin, a great film where he is a small but important member of the ensemble is 1999's Dogma.
Also, Mel Brooks never directed a non-comedy that I am aware of, but he personally Executive-Produced 1980's The Elephant Man and 1986's The Fly and took his name off them so nobody would assume they were comedies (though the company Brooksfilm remains on the credits)

I've probably seen it over 100 times, but getting to watch you throw your head back howling with laughter gave me the gift of seeing it again through new eyes.
'The Night is Young' was an old song "pulled from stock," so to speak. Amy Yasbeck did not do her own singing, but I seem to recall that she did have a decent voice.

We missed out on possibly THE greatest comedy bit with this movie. Mel originally wanted Sean Connery as King Richard. But two things got in the way. First was Connerys usual fee was too high and would of taken too much of the budget. Second is Connery would only agree to do the part if he could play King Richard IN DRAG. Sean Connery playing King Richard in a Comedy version of Robin Hood IN DRAG.

I'm sure everyone has already recommended all the other Mel Brooks movies to you but here they are again for good measure:
-The Producers (1967). Brooks' first movie and the humor is as bold as in Blazing Saddles.
-The Twelve Chairs (1970). Brooks' least known movie, a comedic take of a Russian classic.
-Silent Movie (1976). A silent movie with a pretty amazing list of cameos.
-High Anxiety (1977). Spoof of Alfred Hitchcock movies.
-History of the World: Part I (1981). Collection of historical moments as told by Brooks.
-Spaceballs (1987). Spoof of Star Wars and other scifi movies.
-Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995). Probably Brooks' weakest film but still worth watching.

Something closer to "serious" would probably be "To Be Or Not To Be", a remake of a 1942 war comedy produced and starring but not directed by Mel Brooks.
It's a lot more grounded and linear and doesn't have the kind of madcap energy or referential humor of his original works, but I think it's definitely worth watching

When asked how do we know Your real Robin Hood. He says, Because he had a English Accent. It was in reference to Kevin Costner playing Robin Hood refusing to effect an English Accent.

The Mel Brooks movie you saw first is usually the best one for each. I loved this a lot more than Blazing Saddles when I first saw them, since the themes of Blazing Saddle were not that relevant to where I lived, it felt very boring, especially towards the and I remember had to struggle to watch it to the end.
At the time we used to be almost 100% homogeneous people, with none of the "stereotypical racism" other than against Soviet Union, but it wasn't fully underserved prejudice as we have been reminded once again. Even now, the racism here isn't actually against skin color, but almost completely against completely opposite set of core values with fundamental Islamists that make up a huge portion of the refugees and immigrants. And it hasn't been made easier by the fact that we still have an official State religion...
When I saw Blazing Saddles much later only a few years ago, it was so insanely funny, since I (sadly) had context for it now.
At the time, I think we had only one black person in the public who instantly became famous (in a positive way) for having a minor role in a TV-series and that he actually spoke our language, he was a drummer called Billy Carson. The other black people we have had before that had all been extremely recluse refugees from Africa. We were so proud of having such a cool person being part of us, but I guess these days that could be seen as a pretty extreme form of racism as well.
The divide between the black and the white people in the US never really translated to here, and both black and white Americans were seen as one and the same here, and particularly Eddie Murphy, Michael Jackson, The Prince and Tina Turner were insanely popular in here at the time.
Even the local version of the n-word was very commonly used until very recently (as late as the 80s and the 90s) in some products and even in media, since most of us didn't know it had a negative meaning to it. We also heard it being used all the time by black people themselves. Most just thought it was just coming from the Latin word for black.
After the 20th Century we had an insane (a bit too uncontrolled due to Syria's situation) influx of refugees and in just a few years, our whole demographic has changed, and so has many of the uglier sides of that surfaced as well, which we are having hard time adjusting into and trying to re-educate people to changed realities.

Don't forget Lola! She was Miss Finland and almost Miss Universe in the 90s and quite a big deal at a time considering how homogeneous the country was.
As for racism in Finland, I have to say it's a huge benefit that it's not part of our history. Individuals can be racist, but it isn't systematic. It isn't built into our laws or society or social conscience over hundreds of years the way it is in the US.

One of my favorite movies as a kid- even if most of the jokes went right over my head.
May I recommend Spaceballs if you haven't seen it yet? Another fun Mel Brooks movie, mostly starwars parody but it incorporates references and jokes of a lot of sci-fi media like star trek and alien.
Got the actual starwars visual effects team to work on it after bringing it up to George Lucas if i remember right

You should have seen Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a 1991 of Kevin Costner which this movie spoof on. The best line in the movie "I heard that coming a mile away :) Right-o, Blinkin, very good. Pardon? Who's talking?". "It is good to be the King" is a reference from another Mel Brooks movie "History of the world". You should also see High Anxiety a Mel Brooks spoof of Hithcock classic movies if you have seen them like Psycho Vertigo The Birds ... .

A movie to add to your list when it comes out is “Paws of Fury:The Legend of Hank”. It’s a movie by Mel Brooks that’s supposed to be a remake of “Blazing Saddles”.
