    I started with FL 12 years ago, then switched to Logix pro X after a couple of years, then over to Cubase for another 3 or 4 years and now I am back in my home daw FL studio. But for recording Instruments and mixing I really like Cubase. If I make beats or electronic music I use also FL.
    So it is interesting to see what Ableton looks like because I also had it on my computer but never used it :D
    Have a nice weekend

    • @stop6production
      @stop6production ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here, I hate the arrangement setup of FL studio but you pay once and get lifetime free updates with UNLIMITED EVERYTHING. Abelton you technically pay to play based on your level of production. For $50 with FLS you can have everything you need vs abelton and their 16 tracks only. Pro Logic and FLS for life for me

    A lot of people base there preferences off of the fact that alot of producers use Alberton. I know fl has come a long way and it's getting better each year with free upgrades. Basically it's whatever your preference is. I won't pick something because everyone is using it I will pick something that I know will works for me best in the end. FL STUDIO FOR LIFE.

  • @steph_nyc
    @steph_nyc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Interesting video...i would say : use what you feel comfortable with. But i really engage everyone to be fluent with many DAWs.
    Because FL studio is very popular but is not an industry standard, you will benefit switching between DAWs.
    I guess it also depends the type of music tou make. If its loops based with just a little bit of midi and not a lot of modulation, pick FL Studio, its not worth it to pay for constant upgrades when you have this for free on FL.
    But if you compose more complex melodies, requiring a lot of FX and modulations, less problem for files sharing and with a huge community who already made all of the FX Chain and racks that you need, Ableton and other DAWs might make your life easier on many level.
    Yet you can achieve the same things on both most of the time, FL has its own way of doing things and its not always the easiest way.
    If you are new to music production, it really depends if you are on a tight budget. I would advise to directly use software such as Ableton, Logic, Bitwig etc if you can...for many reasons. But if you are on a budget go for FL and if you feel like it, maybe later you'll learn other DAWs 🙃

  • @steph_nyc
    @steph_nyc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why didn't you use the Drum Machine?
    Making a bit on Ableton (and Bitwig) is much easier actually than FL Studio.
    You think there is no drum sequencer...well, not the FL way, which is actually a pretty unusual way to make beats. But the grid in a midi clip on Ableton (and Bitwig) has 2 modes...included one for the drums.

    I always hear FL Studio is the most "Popular" DAW but not the most "Powerful". Ableton is more powerful if you're being honest, FL studio is more "get in and get the works done" in my opinion. Ableton is a playground I struggle to work in. I've got more done in logic pro. Guess less is more in my case. Maybe this metaphor makes sense: FL studio is like chiseling stone, it aint easy but with every chip you chisel, you're getting closer to the finished product. Ableton like chiseling stone in the middle of an arcade full of pinball machines, street fighter 2 classic, and a bunch of those 4 player old arcade games like TMNT and Simpsons. Good fucking luck trying to chisel that stone.

    I have been using FL for about 10 years but decided to give Ableton a go and I'm torn between the two , I prefer the work flow of fl but Im also a scratch dj and record alot and I'm really liking recording on Ableton as its wraps what I do and the loop recorder section is dope I just don't like if production wise , I have live lite and Im trying 90 day demo and I reckon I'm gonna use both but just get the intro version of Abelton as 16 tracks is enough and when I'm making mixtapes there isn't much after production work all FX I do through my mixer as I'm playing.. I'm gonna see how I get on until trial is done ....right now though FL is way better ... But if they both fucked each other and made a baby daw that was them both in one it would be perfect

    only thing fl does better is piano roll and step seqeuncer. ableton piano roll is very basic and sorely missing some features that fl has.
