Glad I got my hands on that Ironman reissue. So clean. The ironman is so iconic from Jocko but it really is especially for law enforcement and military basic trainees. There is no other watch for basic training. The ironman has such a loud alarm theres no way to sleep in.

Agreed! A lot of us here are pretty big gearheads, and big fans of Autodromo. Hard to go wrong with the Group B in general - and love their use of color. Both the Corsica and the Safari colorways in the current iteration are rad.
I just received a gold Casio which is the watch Timex copied for the T80 (or the other way around). Only $40. Sweet watch. Beautiful. Classy. Funny. Awesome.
That autodromo watch clearly has one of a casio g shock modules, and for that price i would prefer G-Shock I have the original 1977 bulova computron led watch.
Just my preference, but anything that is all screen and no nonsense like most Casio's where they split the screen into sections. The squares for example are done just right.
I have Macular degeneration. My favourite two watches were a Hamilton 38mm Khaki Night Pilot and a 1952 Angelus Chronodato. The Night Pilot is great until it gets dark, then it's really hard for me to see to see, the Angelus, as much as I love, it is really difficult in the best of light. My kids gave me a Green PSR and now I can easily tell the time in all types of light. I love it, wear it in the shower, sleep with it on, it never leaves my wrist. I have had it for a year now and I only wish Hamilton had done the 2 button model of the Pulsar P3, otherwise it's a great watch and lost only 57 seconds in the entire year.
It's really not anywhere near the same quality though. The PSR feels bulletproof, while the Griffy just feels kinda flimsy. Especially that bracelet. The PSR has a ton of history too. Even been worn by James Bond in the movie too. It's the kinda watch you could pass down to your children. That Griffy just isn't.
Nothing is better than a Casio. A cheap Casio with specified 30M WR can go as much as 200M underwater. I doubt that Armitron would reach even those 50M. Just btw, there are also full steel digital Casios, like A1000.

Timex Command Shock green camo negative display Both, the positive and negative display are among the clearest and best I have ever seen from a regular LCD, awesome backlight, vibration alarm, and due to their sheer size definetly a serious wrist presence. 3.Timex T-40941 4. Timex T-49897 Again, both have super legible (positive) displays, the 40941 is small, relatively flat and a great EDC watch, the 49897 is as well but bigger and more rugged (it feels like a G-Shock on the wrist) 5. Adidas Digital Two A full stainless steel digital wath with a supposedly Timex module inside. Large digits (for its size), great Indiglo backlight and due to the material it feels very solid and jumps you right back to the 70's/80's 6. Casio G-7900 7. Casio GD-350 (positive display) In my opinion two of the most rugged and best G-Shocks ever made. Both can set duration of the illumination up to five seconds (rather seldom with Casio), although I prefer the EL-backlight of the G-7900 a mile over the two side LED's of the GD-350. The GD-350 has vibration alarm and a slightly superior functionality over the G-7900, still if I ever need a watch to go to hell and back, it will be most likely the G-7900. 8. Casio GD-800B This watch is a smaller version of the G-7900, actually it houses the module of the G-9000 Mudman but in a (half) stainless steel case and it has a black stainless steel bracelet which wears extremely comfortable. It also has a unique greenish/blueish (turquoise) display, that gives this watch a distinguished look. 9. Casio W-704H A classic square with the exact same functions as the DW-290/DW-5600E. Very cool, retro feeling with a fantastic backlight, (relative) loud alarms and much better to operate buttons than the DW-5600E. Along with the Adidas Digital Two this gives the most retro feeling on the wrist 10. Casio W-736H A truly gem and totally underrated. This watch is easy to operate due to big textured buttons, has a vibe alarm, probably one of the most uncluttered displays Casio ever made, large digits (same size as those of the GD-350) and surprisingly a very well made LED backlight in a cool, negative style way. It's an excellent beater/EDC watch for a very attractive price. This list could go on and on and probably there are other watches who would deserve to be under the top ten, so don't take that as an ultimate list. Generally a digital watch is all functionality to me first and foremost. Of course the design has to be pleasant as well and a 24h countdown timer (or longer), a 24 stopwatch (or longer) and a very good backlight are 100% must have features for me.
Apart from the g-shock and the Ironman watches, this is mostly a load of crap reissues. I’m all for nostalgia, but them LED watches were ugly in the 70s, and are just as bad now.
Casio is ok but definitely not the best digital watch, the “movement” or modules are great, but in my own experience Seiko is just as good and they have much much better casing and bracelets, Seiko is definitely much better choice if you’re are a serious watch collector. Casio is for kids in my opinion, cheaply built and functional but Seiko has definitely better quality and is much better long term. I have Seiko watches from the late 70’s and early 80’ and still have original case and bracelets and are amazingly still water resistant without any service, Seiko rules the digital watch market to this day.
I love my Timex Ironman, been with me through many weeks in the field and on the shooting range. Its super lightweight and simply refuses to die.
I don't know why, but I would never go for anything other than Casio when it comes to digital watches.😅
