This has to be the best and most informative video I found so far, thank you. I’ve been on the fence about what model to buy and now I know. Again awesome video
I had 2 eufy cams at home for 2 years and they were all amazing. No subscription. That saved me $350 from subscription of other security cams by now. This time im looking to add eufy doorbell.
Powerful, clear, concise, thorough and no stupid music in an instructional, informative video!!! What a novel idea?! Thank you, because you get what a video should be if it’s going to be effective. There are THOUSANDS OF MORONS DOING THE WRONG THING!!!! Please, keep up the great work!!!!
Thank you! This summer my son's car mirror was clipped when parked in front of our house and someone tried to walk in the front door behind me after I stepped out to get a package off the porch. I'm purchasing this today. Thanks for the great video.
Wow, first video I went to find the best doorbell for 2024. I knew my Ring subscription was coming up and I wanted something else....preferably free! Ring would always freeze up when someone pushed the bell--totally useless. This was a 100% bona fide breakdown of what this doorbell is. I'm sold--Thank you!
Awesome! We still love this doorbell. It works great and fast. Make sure you have the upgrade doorbell transformer. I have a video on how to do that, but it’s a must have for any video doorbell
We almost purchase ring, thinking it was the best out there. The subscription was the deterrent. We bought several unbranded in the past..just junk. We will try eufy. We have the eufy vacuum.
I was using a Eufy 1080p wireless doorbell, which was OK, but then switched to the Blink doorbell, as I have other Blink cameras and thought it was a good idea to have it all on the same platform. I'm think now of putting the Eufy back. With the Eufy, when the doorbell rings, I get a notification, tap it and see who's there. With the Blink, it takes longer to view who's at the door. By the time I'm able to see who is at the door, they're usually gone. Also one advantage to the Eufy wireless doorbells is that the data is stored _inside_ on as SD card in the _chime_ , not in the doorbell itself, which is a good feature if a perpetrator rips the doorbell off. The video is still in the house. I don't know why the wired doorbells don't do it that way. The only thing the Blink is beter at is battery life. the lithium batteries seem to last longer than a charge on the Eufy. It seems like I've been charging the Eufy every month.
Thank you for your input! I’m this is good info because I’ve never used the blink systems. I think they all have their pros and cons but for what I need it for and experience with others I too prefer the Eufy. I’m happy with how fast they are like you said. Never had a problem with it. I used a battery powered and needed up switching to a wired version because I got tired of charging. I like being able to wire it in and not mess with it.
Ring is absolute junk. I purchased one and was a piece of junk and customer service was useless. I will try this unit you are disclosing in this video. Thanks.
We're buying a Eufy. The Ring failed for us a couple of times (had to replace it). Between that, the terrible customer service and the subscription fees we will not be going back...
This is the second home in which th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).
No matter how I adjust the motion sensitivity on my ring doorbell, it's always too slow to start recording if someone walks up fast. I just get the back of their head as they are walking away, if they move fast.
I have the Eufy doorbell, replaced my ring, mainly because of the cloud required by Ring. Second this doorbell work great, clear, catches traffic in front of my house ,AI is great, animals, vehicles and humans, even know me. One this I have a large gap between the vinyl siding Laps. I haven’t found anything to cover it. Oh, it also connected to my existing door bell chime, I got the wired one. It did come with its own chime that I put in my basement. Plus it connected to my eufy cam3 modular.
Yep. I felt it was something a lot of people might need to know. I did my research and learned that is a common upgrade with these video doorbells in general
Thank you for that. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I just wanted to get my personal opinion out there based off my own experiences. It’s always good to have more information out there so people can make their own informed decisions. I believe everything has its pros and cons. But for me, the biggest thing was not having to pay for subscription, if I didn’t want to.
I know that I love my Eufy cameras, I never have a bit of problems with them. I used Arlo and Ring cameras at one time and they were a big headache, always disconnecting along with other problems. I think that I will try the Eufy doorbell, but the battery version. Thanks for the informative video.
I have no complaints about the Eufy system still. Great experience. I had the battery option first and went with the wired after I got tired of charging periodically. But that comes with any battery powered doorbell I guess.
@@sufferedlearnedchanged I wouldn’t necessarily say easily. But if “hackers” can hack into some of these major companies we hear about on the news once in a while I’m sure there could be a breach on a video doorbell. One of the nice things without having to use the cloud and having the local in-house storage, is that the only real way to get into any of your systems would be to be at your house and hack into your IP are local Wi-Fi. But then again, you would have access to all your devices connected to your Wi-Fi at that point almost. So that’s one of the reasons I like that the Eufy system doesn’t require you to use the cloud or else. You have options.
I enjoyed your succinct and concise instructional video about the Eufy doorbell camera (in 2023). If you hadn't have generously donated your time for the world, ignorant consumers like myself would have never known about it. Thanks again. P.S.: Is there a wireless Eufy available?
Thank you I appreciate that. Yes there is a wireless version. There should be a link for That in the video description if you have trouble finding it on your own
I haven’t finished your video yet. I purchased the Eufy but left it in the packaging for a year because I was testing two others. I installed it and it worked ok but didn’t really suit my needs. One week later it went deader then a door nail. I contacted Eufy and asked their opinion. I knew it was warranted for a year and when they came back it was to tell me it was dead but out of warranty. I had bought a couple hundred dollars worth of items from them. I thank them and sent it all back. I bought a Wyze doorbell close to hundred cheaper and I’m really happy with it. Buyer beware they have no heart nor justice in them.
That’s very unfortunate. I’ve never heard of one of their doorbells just dying for no reason after a week. There wasn’t any type of power surge or something that could have caused damage? I can see that if the purchase date was a year ago and they couldn’t warranty it after that, your circumstances are unique but on their end I could see how the date of purchase may be the only thing they could go off of. It’s good you found the Wyze doorbell. I’ve heard good things about them as well.
Thank you for the video, you mentioned the link that you will insert into the video, but it's not there. Can you please mention it in the comments or insert it into the description? Thank you.
Well, damn. Its been a while I commented on a TH-cam video. But its a must this time. Mi RING doorbell camera service expired after 30 days and now they want money, so Im looking at alternatives to RING. This video was straight to the point, at all times. I have now the Eufy kit in my shopping cart and will be replacing the other greedy product... Thank you very much!!
That is literally my exact scenario. After 30 days of messing around with the Ring it then asked me for more money and it still haven’t even worked to my expectations. So I thought there must be another way. So I went on the search for “no subscription” video doorbells. And we still love our Eufy. No complaints
Most all doorbells have a transformer that’s installed which reduces the power down before running out to the device. I have a video showing how this is wired in and if you need to upgrade transformers how to do that. But I’ve never seen one wired in on a 220v outlet. That’s a little overkill. Usually it’s on a standard 110-120V outlet and has a transformer installed.
I have the Eufy E340 and it's connected to my home base and the home base chimes when people hit the doorbell. you can even select different chime sounds through the app. it's great
Great video!! I don't need a doorbell. I live in a condo where I have had a chair taken and someone put grease on the catwalk in front of my door. I just want to be able to see the people who are doing this or have it stopped hopefully when they see the camera. Do you recommend this camera? Do I need any wifi? I have seen videos of cameras that need it. I don't think my wifi would extend outside of my condo. Please let me know. Thanks.
If you are in a condo I don’t think they will allow you to run wires to your cameras, and in this case you’d most likely need a WiFi system set up for all the cameras to communicate with the hub. Eufy products in my opinion are great. So I would recommend them. But your situation is unique. So you may. We’d to look at what your options are with WiFi wireless cameras, wired cameras, etc.
Just one more thing to buy! I don’t know how you linked up your RING but not one thing you said about it was true for me, I have 5 of their cameras that link together seamlessly. I’ve had them for 3 years now, yes RING does have you pay a fee but its under $10 dollars for the whole year!! My cameras are crystal clear, the sound is good and the communication speakers with well. I’m not saying this camera you’re showing isn’t good, but it has its faults as well. The added, required part, if you needed it for the doorbell to work then why didn’t they send it in the box?? That’s their way to make extra money. So I’ll stick with my RING, it’s tried and true.
I appreciate the feed back. I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about the ring and other door bells. I just wanted to describe my experience and what I found. I’ve also upgraded the transformer for the doorbell, which ring did not let me know needed to be done. Could have been why it wasn’t running too well. But the eufy self diagnosed and let me know the power coming into wasn’t good enough and how to upgrade. Wish ring would have done that
@@FortKnoxCo I hear you brother, I came off a little strong there and I apologize. Thanks for putting the info out there on the other product and above all, thanks for taking the time to respond to me. Alan
@@alanrobisonPD1960 it’s all good man. I like just getting information out there so people can do their own and have more to hear from. It’s always good to have different sides of stuff to hear from. We can all learn from it all in the end
Haha. Well happy I could be of help. I just wanted to share my experiences and show what other options I’ve found out there. We still have no complaints with our Eufy doorbell. Works perfectly
Cool and helpful video. Did you end up ever getting the homebase station for recording video? I like the idea of self-recording with self-monitoring for privacy reasons.
Do you have a pretty good memory with the plug-in chime. But I believe the new ones now have the ability to be added with the home base storage. So then you can have one or 2 TB of memory. Just kind of pens on how you want to set it up. We still use the regular set up with the plug-in chime and that is all the memory that we’ve been using. Haven’t had any problems with being able to go back and review footage from weeks ago but I haven’t looked to see how far back it goes.
I haven’t but I only used a battery operated one for about a month and then Went with a wired one. My door lock is battery powered and that thing is awesome. Deadbolt camera combo.
@@FortKnoxCo one other quick question: is the internal storage 8GB or 4GB? Has that been a hindrance to you? Trying to decide whether to go the extra for the Home Base.
I had a Eufy doorbell and was plagued by phantom rings, often in the middle of the night. No kids playing pranks either, the recorded videos show clearly no one was there. Eufy support could not figure out the problem and would not replace the doorbell or base since it was two months out of warranty. I switched to Ring and have been happy with the experience.
That sucks that you had such a bad experience with it. I have an experience that myself. I know they do have some adjustments with the sensitivity or types of motion you wanted to sense. But if it was doing that to you, and there was no fix. I could see that you had to go out and look for other options. I know everybody experiences different things, my horrible experience with ring. But I’ve heard other people have had success. Luckily there’s lots of options out there to fit peoples needs and budget.
Thanks for this great video. I'm thinking of trading in my Ring doorbell for this one but I'm curious...can the Eufy work with my existing door chime box mounted inside my home, Or will I have to use the plug in type that comes with it?
You’ll have to use the plug in that comes with it. Unfortunately the way these door bells work with having a constant supply of electricity they don’t activate the traditional type of door bell. The benefit though is that you can plug it in anywhere you want. It could be in your bedroom or the garage or wherever you might want the notification to be utilized best. And it can be an outlet that is not being used or somewhere out of sight if you prefer. It’s kind of cool that you can put the bell anywhere you want.
Yup, just ordered this doorbell to go with my Eufy video cameras and base. Nest isn't working. Already upgraded my transformer when I installed the Nest so should be good to install the Eufy doorbell. Be nice to be notified when the bell rings or someone is at the camera and not 10 minutes later like with the nest.
We have had zero problems with our Eufy doorbell. I’m able to turn off notifications when I know that there is someone working in the street out front and I’ve had no problem with the notifications while they’re on to quickly be able to respond and even talk to people while they’re at our front gate. Nothing but good things to say about it so far.
I hate to say it but WYZE is by far the best bang for your buck. It comes with the chime and battery pack or wire doorbell. Plus, you can use micro SD cards as well as all those cloud options and you only have to pay $1.99 per month. And it’s also only $89 as opposed to. 250 with Eufy.
Eufy uses SD card and is on sale for $89.99 right now with no monthly fee. About to buy one, just wanted to let everyone know that sees this as it's their labor day sale.
Have had nothing but problems with my Wyze doorbell. They've replaced it thrice due to hardware issues, currently the outgoing speaker only produces static and I can't connect to the app, so I'm looking for a new brand.
Great Information and I finally got rid of my ring, (Not paying $$$ for cloud). I installed my Eufy, but is there is no information on how to change the chime???
Yeah I love that I down HAVE to pay for cloud storage if I done want to. Are you wanting to change the chime physically or just change the chime sound?
@@novelx3983 you can change the chime sounds on the chime itself. There should be a small button on the left side of the plug in chime. If you press that it will cycle through the 8 different ring tones on the chime.
They have a rechargeable battery version. A “wireless” version. And then this one here I showed. So they have both. I should have links for them in the description
The one security weakness is that if local storage is in the doorbell it can be damaged or stolen. I also find that the delay in getting the video after an event suggests that even without a subscription there may be uploads to the cloud.
These have the option to have a Home Base which is extended memory that can be in your home in a secured location to circumvent the problem of a damaged or stolen doorbell. You can keep all the memory safely at home still and home HAVE to pay for storage in a subscription format just to be able to use the features of your doorbell camera. I found that as a negative when you buy a Ring doorbell for all the cool things it can do but you don’t get all those features unless you continue to pay for them.
Eufy does allow for local storage, and if you get a Synology NAS, you can also back that up to a cloud service of some kind (or even another Synology NAS you have stored at a relative's house that you can sync the data between) and there is a Synology app to view your video feed remotely as well. I haven't gotten one yet but I am planning on it may be more steps than what most people want, but the important thing, is that you are in control of your won data. Ring freely gives your video feed to policy agencies when they simply ask, not even under subpoena.
@@cybernoid001 this is a big point! One of the main reasons I like having the storage in the owners control 100%. Plus you aren’t subject to rings fees and service or nothing. With their device you don’t have choices.
I don't know why, but the Eufy _wireless_ doorbells data is stored on a micro SD card in the chime. Also, I think you're correct about the data going to the cloud, then to your phone.
The reason I went with Lorex is because it supports RTSP for 24/7 recording on my NVR, and I can use my existing doorbells on all three floors- as of this post, neither are available with the Eufy.
Yeah Lorex is really good also. The technology is there now for all these doorbells to perform very similar. It’s just comes down to things like you pointed out why someone may need one over the other. I like that there’s multiple options.
I have a full range of Lorex cameras and was using their NVR. Their NVR was dog slow so changed it out to a Blue-Iris machine. Blue Iris works quite well with Lorex cameras. Still have a Ring doorbell button, though - two more months on my subscription before it goes. Wanted a doorbell camera that uses existing doorbell so I have a Lorex doorbell camera. But the mounts on Lorex doorbell cameras suck. Very wimpy plastic mounts. Plus, they don't provide a base big enough to cover existing holes from previous doorbells. Not sure what to do for mounting this one.
once its fully dark outside it is a black and white style image. very similar to all other cameras out there. the quality is still pretty good, but you always seem to lose some of that sharpness when working in low light conditions.
This is the best unbiased comparison between the Ring and Eufy. I never understand why one would want to pay to get your video recorded on the cloud. And I agree it is by far a much better camera. I've had the original 2K for a little over two years now. I had to get the battery version because the location of the original doorbell button is not at the best location to put the Eufy. Interestingly enough I've only had to charge the battery twice; I get notified when it's time to charge it so that's a nice feature. This model came with a homebase that serves as the doorbell and video storage. It has a really good object (person) detection system. I get notified long before a person gets within 10 feet of the door. I decided to install an commercial grade day and night color camera with a wide lens that covers the ground floor as well as the walkway to the house.
I completely agree! I personally love the doorbell. After having a couple others I still prefer the Eufy. I think the cameras detection system is great. I’m impressed how it has the facial recognition and sends you a snap shot of the persons face as they are walking up. And you are right with how fast it is. I hated getting a notification about someone at my door and by time I get it open to view they are gone or walking away. Not with this Eufy.
Nice video, just bought an Eufy. But where did you get that shirt made? And what type of shirt is that (brand, material)? I'm looking to order some shirts for my business too. Thanks!
Thank you for watching. I actually make all my own shirts. I do my own designs and screen printing. So I do it all in house. I just started doing a little bit more again so I have the set up up and running so if you wanna grab any of these shirts that I make their available I just haven’t set up a shop online yet. Usually it’s word of mouth or people just contacted me through my email or social media. I also may be taking on some production jobs with custom design and production of shirts, if you’re interested.
Linus Tech Tips dropped Anker as a sponsor (supposedly) because of Eufy doorbells. If I remember correctly, it’s because Eufy says they never store your videos in their personal servers, but….. ya know, They were storing personal videos on their server. I think the company has addressed the issue, but when a company tells you they don’t do something, and then do it anyway, it raises a few red flags 🚩
That’s unfortunate. I’d like to think they are doing what they say and not be doing that. But then again I’m not a tech guru. Not sure how deep all the facts go
@@FortKnoxCo agreed. And honestly I really like the anker chargers and cables I have. I just came across the video recently so I thought it would be something you might want to look into. I’m sure y’all take security at least as serious as many of your viewers. Hope I’m not stearing ya wrong. Enjoyed the video.
@@JMacelicious no not at all. I appreciate the information. I like to always research and learn. I’m not loyal to one brand just because. I’m always looking to make a better informed decision
Hello Fort-Knox! Just seeing your Eufy video and appreciate your sharing the information. Unfortunately, I just installed a Ring doorbell at my Mother-in- law’s house and have one at my house (a couple of years now). Would love to swap to Eufy but hate to waste the money spent on the Ring doorbells, what can done with them to recoup some of the cost?
Well if your outside the return window then the next thing is to list it for sale. There’s lots of people who don’t want to pay full price and don’t mind buying a “used” doorbell at a small discount. Anything I ever replace or upgrade I try to sell. There’s almost always someone wanting a new doorbell or needing a replacement. If the one you just installed is still able to be returned then I’d go that route obviously in that case.
Thank you for your reply. The doorbells are outside the return limit and works great. I’m just disappointed in the video lag and subscription costs. Will do some research for resale value. Thanks again.
@@lhf7279 no problem at all. Yeah we luckily were able to return ours and I found the Eufy to replace it. But I’ve seen people selling theirs. Hopefully you can recoup some on the money
We had a Ring, and it did not work out for us. It had a 2-second lag time from when it senses movement and actually starts recording. By then, the person that set it off is no longer in the field of view. How fast does the Eufy start recording? Good video. I subbed and rang that bell. Does Eufy have a battery powered model?
Awesome thank you! Yes they have a battery operated and wired in model. There should be links for both in my description to see them on Amazon so you can compare. The video and notification timing is spot on. We haven’t had any problems with the video recording and the notifications coming through while they are still there as well. I walk past it when I’m my front yard and my watch starts vibrating with a notification before I’m done passing usually. We have no complaints with this Eufy doorbell
I got this doorbel for a while now. Few points: it only lasts 3 months instead of a year. Has a proven security flaw that video files are stored out of the country. Which can be accessed by Eufy. The doorbell is so slow establishing a connection that the package guy is already gone 9/10. Although i do have 1000mb internet. So that is a couple of things from a longterm user. What is also funny is that if you also take the camera's with the base station.. you can steal it, and reset it. It will delete remotely all the content from the basestation. Leaving you with an empty basestation. It is the perfect scenario for burglars.
Sucks to hear that. I haven’t experienced any of those problems. The notifications come in quick, usually within 1-3 seconds of the motion my watch and phone are vibrating. And I’ve been able to catch people at my door before they leave and speak to them through the doorbell very well. As far as a base station storage and if your not storing anything in cloud, you’d want obviously want that in a secure location. Not out in the open or easily grabbed. That would be the same case with any security system that’s stored on property. You don’t want anyone grabbing the storage device.
Nice info, I can't find any other brand apart from ring that do the door view option what is fitted via the door peep hole do u no of any pls and thanks
I’m not sure of any other system that can utilize the peep hole. You can obviously mount a battery operated doorbell in any location you see fit but not sure about the actual door peep hole set up
I bought the Eufy Dual Doorbell 2K in February this year knowing that the software release was due in March 2023 so that the doorbell will then work with Homebase. 3. There's nothing worse than having two home bases and a doorbell that can't recognize familiar faces. I got an email today from Eufy stating that there will be no firmware update for this doorbell for the next 2 to 3 months. I, along with many other customers, would feel very let down with this new information.
Yeah I feel ya on that. It’s nice that they are continuing to improve and create more compatibility between devices and other products though. Overall I’m still 100% happy with the Wifey doorbell and how it works
Thanks for the great review! I'm considering purchasing this but I'm a little confused as to whether it will work with the Homebase 3 that I just purchased? Does it work with yours? Do you have the Homebase 2 or Homebase 3?
Both homebase 2 and 3 are supposed to work with their cameras and doorbells. I have a homebase 2 which works. But the homebase 3 says on its description that it will work with all eufy security devices by Dec 2023. So I’m not sure if that means it works with some but not all right now or what their plan is. I’d assume it works with the doorbell because it’s not a super new product from them.
@@johnnylawrence7232 yeah from what I’m readying is looks like the Home base 3c is built for the new 4K camera systems. Doesn’t look like that home base is able to add on the current door bells.
There is no additional protection on the outside to prevent someone from breaking it off. At least not that I know of. It is secured to the wall and secured with some anchor screws. All of the memory is stored inside your house, so even if they steal the doorbell itself, you should have the hard drive in the chime plugged into the house, which is where I believe the memory is stored.
I already had a few Eufy/Anker devices and cameras. Had to order a new transformer (and then find the old one). The video and system quality of this one is hands down better than the Ring it replaced. I'm planning on getting rid of the last 2 Ring cams and go Eufy all around.
That’s awesome ! We have no complaints. I might try the new eufy exterior house light with camera. Looks pretty cool that you can change the colors of you home lights and have it hard wired in too
As a Ring user since they have been out this video has a lot of false information. Ring video quality could be a little better and I wish it has the package camera but otherwise it is rock solid and their customer service top notch. I do like Eufy too but I think the price of the Ring subscription is well worth it. Ring cameras on the other hand, the battery ones, terrible. LOL
I hear what you’re saying. But this is not necessarily false info, it’s just my opinion and my personal experience with them. I was excited to get the ring, finally getting a video doorbell, and I just wasn’t happy with all the problems I was having. And then after the 30 days I got a notification saying I can’t view any of my videos from events u less I now subscribed….. I didn’t like that. I felt I already paid a good penny for the device, why can’t I see any of the advertised features. Without paying more money forever I would only be able to view stuff at my door during the moment it was happening or else it was not accessible later. And what made me mad was when I got a notification that someone was there at my door and I would quickly try to open it up and view or communicate….it lagged and had delays and I lost the window to actually see who was there when they were there. So I just felt there’s gotta be a better way. Give me the option to at least store some amount of local video storage and then give me the option to pay more if I want extra stuff like monitoring service and cloud storage.
You skipped over the jumper cable attachment inside of the existing chime, just what I was looking for information on. You show 2 cables it appears inside of the plastic bag. Does one install only one of them between the 2 terminals, center one and the one on the right? Thank you.
Yes it should come with instructions on how to do that. It basically bypasses the chime to create a through connection. I didn’t initially install the jump cable when I first installed this chime. I later did go back and install that before upgrading my doorbell transformer.
Мне понравился этот продукт из-за его множества красивых особенностей, в том числе простой установки без проводов и сделан в соответствии с ТЗ плз. Я рекомендую это всем
Thanks for the video. On Prime day I bought a Ring Battery Doorbell Pro because it was a pretty good price, and because we have a couple echo show’s and a bunch of echo dot’s. I have not hooked it up yet, but my understanding is that the Ring doorbell will chime on the Echo Dot’s, and show video automatically on the Echo Show’s? Is this the case? And will the Eufy offer integration with the Alexa products as a chime or a video doorbell alert? Eufy claims integration, but people online have complaints. Thank You!
I don’t know much more about the ring and how they integrate. We got rid of ours after having so much trouble with the doorbell and they fact that they REQUIRED a subscription to work they way it’s advertised. So with efuy we have all Eufy products and they integrate together. I haven’t tried integrating other brands with the Eufy myself.
@@extendedp1 no I have it set up with the chime that it came with. I don’t use Alexa or any other home integrated systems right now. Just the Eufy plug in chime
As a Ring user of 3-4 years, i have never had the issues you were having, the cons and pros are: EUFY pros: no yearly cost, package cam, 2k videos Cons: max 90 days recording local only storage, no removable battery and the worse one: Someone steals your door bell and the video goes with them
I get what your saying but they do tend to hold their charges longer and the storage you saying will be lost isn’t true, the data is stored in your home , either in the plug in door bell chime or your home base memory. Also if you choose the home base extended storage you will have way more than 90 days of storage. With ring I just never had the quick responses or notifications. I also didn’t like that you had no other choice but to sign up for a subscription. They have the ability to have some local storage in the device if they wanted too. But they force you to pay too dollar for the device and then sign up for a monthly payment on top of that. Luckily there’s many options out there to fit peoples need and budgets.
Hey! You stole my comment!!! 😁🤔 Agree! I have an apartment in another state in which I installed 2 indoor Eufy cameras. They work perfectly and have never been offline. I don't pay for a subscription but can see all the activity (if any). Before those, I have 4 Arlo cameras on the outside and they work fine and store all the videos locally, can see them from anywhere in the world, but the lag between activity, being triggered, and starting recording is so long that I most often get nothing on film. Useless unless the person stays in frame for more than 10 seconds. I wouldn't recommend the Arlo system. So far the Eufy seems the best. I had the Samsung in the past but were so bad I gave them to my elderly mom so I can watch her from across the country should she need help. They are ALWAYS disconnecting and have to be manually restarted. So out of the three, so far Eufy is the winner (for me).
@@spocksvulcanbrain man that’s awesome to hear. It’s cool to hear another success story about eufy. Funny how we all have different experiences with different systems though. I say Whatever works for you needs and budget.
No. Once you wire it in it Bypasses the wall chime in your house. It comes with a plug in chime that connects wirelessly to the doorbell and that will be your new chime. You can plug it in anywhere you’d like for convenience
I have the double camera Eufy in a home and the ring HD wired in another. The Eufy is the superior one (by far), however it is not supported by the Samsung Family Hub and that's a bummer... Ring is... Actually Ring is the only one which is supported... So I have to live with a compromise, but this is how the planet works, you give something up and you gain something else... If we were to live in a perfect world, we wouldn't watch YT videos about products, would we?
Haha. Very good point indeed. Yeah I think they all have their pros and cons. It’s just whatever works for your situation. I’ve heard the same about supporting systems. Eufy is supposed to be working with other platforms to be supported on other devices in the future. Or have better compatibility than they currently do. For now I still love the Eufy overall.
@@FortKnoxCo Samsung is the only refrigerator with a screen (LG used to make one and I don't really if they stopped doing it, but it was a multiple in price). "Other platforms"??? What exactly do you mean by that? Also, waiting for something which is not even in perspective is not good enough... Like I said, there is always a compromise...
@@A.Dude. I was mainly referring to how Eufy works with apple devices, android etc. I guess it has better access to photos and video on your watch or phone depending on which device platform you have. But Eufy is supposed to be working on that
@@FortKnoxCo Mate, all devices of similar kind on the market work with iOS and Android,; this is not something which would differentiate between brands. Also, why would my security camera access the photos on my phone; makes no sense... Cheers!
@@A.Dude. yes, they work on all devices, but for example, if you have a ring doorbell or some other ones when using your Apple Watch, you can view video or photos from your front doorbell instantaneously on your wrist watch. With the Eufy it doesn’t necessarily work the same way. I believe they’re trying to improve that so that you can have as much function with your Apple Watch. For example because of their integration. It’s not a major difference. It’s just minor stuff like that. Mainly speaking about the doorbell and when you get notifications and what you can view on your watch verses on your phone.
Yea we really like the no subscription part of the whole thing. I think all the different doorbells have their pros and cons. But the subscription requirements of some I don’t like
Great point! That is another advantage! These systems come with the options to do cloud storage and in home memory banks. But end of the day they give you options to not have to pay subscription fees which is nice. We have a memory block in home so we don’t have to worry about that.
@@FortKnoxCo by memory block, are you referring to their new Homebase 3? I like the no-fees approach and leading-resolution provided by Eufy but I’ve been hesitant to go all-in because of a few things most overlook. I hate that the Homebase 3 still hasn’t integrated with most of the Eufy offerings, some aren’t slated to until around April 2023! None of their wired doorbells are integrating… ever possibly. Also, I think their decision not to integrate with HomeKit is an unfavorable one. Pre-roll is also a huge feature that I wish Eufy would incorporate into their recordings.
@@victorvek5227 I agree. I wish they would further integrate with stuff like that. I enjoyed being able to look at my Apple Watch and see the picture or footage on there. I hope they have those plans in the near future. As far as what we got it for it’s serving it’s purpose. We have a full security system built with the house. This was mainly to have an eye out at our front gate for notifications when someone walks up.
Valid point, though in comparisons to other battery operated doorbells, this has proven to be more challenging to pry off with bare hands. Agree on HB3 compatibility, it makes little sense from a consumers perspective how none of the wired doorbells are compatible with it... I still bought it knowing this though, given the no-subscription model.
NO thanks, wont be buying anything from eufy or their masters ANKER ever again, until ANKER officially apologizes/firing those responsible for its egregious violation of is own priacy policy , the unencrypted storing of customer vids not only without permission but in some cases AFTER being told not to, in writing, thats just a start. .. SFMF
That’s unfortunate to hear. Yeah luckily there is a lot of different brands out there. It’s really hard to try to find stuff that is completely 100% made in the US. Or even just having a US owned manufactured company. I wish there was more options to choose from home-based.
You back up photos on iCloud, Google drive etc you're storing your information on these providers servers. We are all at risk of being hacked. Celebrities got their sexy pics and videos they recorded on their iPhones several years ago. If you get too deep you can lose it and get paranoid over everything like that 1985 song "SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME".
Thank you for the video, only problem is that with this doorbell camera the notification is slow, I've adjusted my settings to make it as fast as possible to get my notification but it didn't make any difference. You can still a package from someone and by the time you get notified the person and package is gone and night vision is a joke anything pass 13ft you won't be able to see that good. But thank you for the video 👍
That’s unfortunate. I feel like the notifications are pretty fast overall. Usually i get them during the day and it’s vibrating my watch with a notification message within a 1-3 seconds. Example, whenever I park in the driveway and get out or walk past my own door bell doing yard work. I pass the doorbell and about 2 seconds later it’s vibrating my watch and phone.
@@fcolon1976 yeah could be the WiFi. And make sure you have the bigger doorbell power source/transformer. We had to upgrade that the get any video door bell to work right. I have a video showing that too
I had been a Eufy 2k Doorbell user for 2 years. It sounds nice that no subscription, etc.. However after going through two wireless doorbells, they have two significant flaws they couldn't fix. It has two powering options. a, Battery that could be charged via USB, b, direct wiring via 12~24vAC 1. IT WILL NOT WORK CONTINUALY OVER A MONTH WHEN IT IS HARDWIRED, the battery need to be fully charged and reset, this requires pulling the bell wire out reinstalling (personally went thru 3 or them and two software updates. 2. SHORTAGE OF STORAGE NOT EXPENDABLE, I have a high number of the visitor in installation and local storage in EUFY HOME has 16GB of storage, and it has a USB that doesn't extend the storage via USB Sticks, they never implemented via firmware upgrade. DO NOT BUY, I am installing RING DOORBELL PRO 2.
That sucks you’ve had a bad experience with it. I know the battery option is less preferred because of the hassle of having to pull the batter or unit and recharge and then stick back out there. I had a battery one at first and hated having to do this. The wired version has been perfect though. I installed it , connected it to my WiFi and have never had to mess with it. It’s been connected ever since. It’s also stores a pretty good amount from what I can tell. I can look back a couple months on my events and still see them. I believe with the newer ones you might be able to incorporate the Home Base they use for their camera systems and that has a lot more memory. But for just the doorbell portion the Eufy hasn’t let us down yet. Luckily there’s plenty of options out there for everyone to choose what works best for them.
I have just installed the video doorbell. The dual one and that one works with homebase. I also got the homebase 3 which you can add an HD or SSD up to 16TB in (it has 16GB internally). Plenty of storage options there.
I feel like most of the main brands you find now have very good quality. Most shooting in 4K now which is way beyond what you probably red in a camera system. But as long as you have the storage available then I say why not go big. As far as a specific brand I don’t really have one. I know Eufy is coming out with their “professional” camera system for 24 hour coverage cameras. I’m going to be trying those when they come out.
@@FortKnoxCo what is your take on the light bulb security cameras. So you say to look for 4G output? There are solar cameras wifi & disk capabilities. I’m on a strict budget. Going big is not possible for me.
@@mnp870 the light build security cameras can be a great option if you don’t have the power source available on the exterior of your home but do have exterior lights. This usually allows your to just connect to your WiFi and not have to run any additional cables through your roof. 4K video quality is usually a plus but something with 2K video quality is still very good. Like you said, your budget really will determine what’s best for your situation, but there are many good options out there.
The information at the beginning of the video claiming that ring/blink cannot store video locally or has no access after the FREE trial subscription ends is just FALSE. If you buy it with the Sync Module you have the ability to locally store and remotely view any and all motion alerts and videos from all of your cameras on that system. As stated by another user at least that is inside the house so you don't have to lose everything when someone just rips the camera off the house. Also to buy the blink/ring system with that backup option is still less expensive that what you're proposing here. In addition you can use your existing Alexa or blink mini camera's as chimes in addition to your mobile devices and tablets by just installing an app and setting up which ones you want to ring. Just tell people the truth rather than a paid marketing scheme. Otherwise a well made video, and no beef with using an alternate product that has the same or maybe better features.. but don't lie about a competitor to make a quick buck.
I appreciate the feed back. I make videos on all the stuff I buy or use to just give insight or instructions on installing/problem solving. But was not paid by Eufy to do this. I was making a video about my ring doorbell and then learned about how I’d have to have a subscription or buy more equipment to store my data/alerts n such. I then researched, found eufy and liked that with just the doorbell it had internal storage and the ability to expand, but didn’t have to buy anything else other than the door bell if I didn’t want to. I was mainly focusing on using the door bell as a stand alone and having the ability to access all the creatures these door bell talk about. With ring I lost most those great features after the trail unless I wanted to pay for something in addition. With the Eufy i was able to install and have full access to the features as advertised and didn’t have to pay for them down the road. I also had a lot of connection issues with my ring doorbell. Not saying this is a problem for everyone but something I experienced. With the Eufy I’ve had a way better experience with opening the app and I’m the video feed popping right up. The ring lagged or didn’t connect. And when it did half the time it would notify me that it was doing a software update and would be back online shortly. Super annoying. But again I appreciate the feedback. Never intentionally hiding any info from people. I may be pumping up what I’m doing or expanding more on what I have in my hand vs the other options, but that’s only because it’s what I may have more experience with or actually have experience using. I usually just make videos about stuff I find or have used. There’s plenty of other options out there. Im not testing and doing break downs on all systems like a tech channel, just trying to help people with getting more info out there.
@@alanrobisonPD1960 a lot of people really like the Ring and have had great experiences. It just wasn’t mine unfortunately. I think maybe if ring had some type of self diagnosing feature and would have told me earlier that I needed to upgrade my transformer to a bigger power source I could have avoided the ring not working so well. But either way I like that there’s all these different options. Lots of video out there explaining things.
I don’t know if I’d go that far but I do understand peoples concern with tech companies and their security and stay sharing policies. I’ve heard Ring isn’t squeaky clean either. Seems to be hard to get something that’s just perfect across the board
Ring themselves got hacked a a few times already so anyone who has their security cameras connected to the internet needs to be prepared to be hacked at one point
I think that was the issue or at least part of it. I’ve heard some other people having similar issues. Could be the WiFi strength too but with the eufy I have the same internet connections and it’s been flawless. I really like that the Eufy doorbell self diagnosed, told be verbatim what the issues was, the part I needed and instructions on how to upgrade it. The Ring doorbell never alerted be nor told me how fix it. They should add something like that, it would be super helpful.
I think the only problem I have with the Eufy video doorbell is the potential risk of losing the footage if the camera is taken off its place, because the free part is the local storage that records footage into the camera for a certain amount of time. Other than that, I'm liking it
The data/video is stored in the plug in chime that is plugged in the wall inside your home, so your data will be safe inside. It’s not stored directly in the doorbell itself. They thought of that part. And the newer plug in door chimes have expandable micro SD card slots to allow more storage if you choose to. And they have the home base storage too if you have the home security cameras which has 1T or bigger storage I believe. All in your home where you choose
I looked this up on amazon. What is the homebase 1, 2 or 3? Can I get a renewed camera? (They offer this on Amazon) Does it need the Homebase? Please explain these things to me. Thanks!!
The homebase is the their additional hub that has extra memory. It’s not necessary for the doorbell. It has its own memory and/or it’s stored in the plug in chime inside the home if you choose the combo with the doorbell and chime. The homebase systems are mainly for the exterior camera systems from them. Has larger memory bank and would be needed if your installing exterior/interior camera system.
Great information but quick question. Is the eufy dual connection? I ask because I would like to have both. Wired in the front and wireless for the back. I do understand the charging issue for the wireless.
I believe if you wanted two doorbells you can do this. Either wired or battery, doesn’t matter, I think you’d just have the Eufy app and have both devices connected to your account. So you could view the video from either of your choice when you want. It’s similar to adding home cameras around the exterior. You could view it all through your Eufy App
Can you view the video live and speak to the caller when you are not at home? I am torn between buying a doorbell or making my own using an ESP32 or a micro single board computer and camera sensor and 3D printing the enclosure
I believe when you speaking to Someone at your door through your door bell it is already recording that. So once your don’t with your interaction the doorbell will save that whole thing as an event.
It doesn’t have the ability to plug in. It also Runs off a lower power source than a standard plug. Doorbells have a transformer that reduces the power to a 30v type of power supply before it runs to the doorbell. So I have a video showing this installation of a doorbell transformer from a regular outlet power source to the transformer to the doorbell wires. But they have the battery powered doorbells. They can be mounted and used pretty much anywhere. You just have to charge the battery every once in a while.
Excellent video explanation of Eufy doorbell advantages. It does require more power. The Blink video doorbell is a quick install and being wifi and battery powered you can place the unit in an optimum location for people and package monitoring. Where I can add a transformer upgrade I'll try the Eufy. Thanks - great job.
I appreciate it. The Eufy does have the battery option and we used that one at first but I opted for the hard wire version later on. I don’t like having to recharge, especially if it requires it often and you’re getting a lot of notifications. But it’s nice these different brands usually have both options.
Yep 100%. They make a wireless battery operated model, that can be mounted anywhere you want basically. And it can come with a plug in chime if you want the door bell to ring inside too. That plugs in anywhere in your home that you want and it goes off when the button is hit. Otherwise your phone/smart watch gets notifications from the door bell too
I installed a Blink doorbell camera to confirm package deliveries. No subscription required if you have the Blink Sync 2 module. Performs exactly as expected. You opt for Local Storage on the module's flash drive (not included).
You said you replace the ring doorbell, I have the same one, when I install the ring doorbell there was a module that went into the chime inside the house from original doorbell system. How does that figure into the equation?
Are you referring to the little jumper cable that they say you can install to bypass the doorbell? I install that inside the house. It just jumps the power past the chime inside the house to supply constant power to the doorbell outside.
In the video I’m installing the wired version, it connects to your existing doorbell on your home. Assuming your home has a wired doorbell, you’d remove your push button door bell and there should be two wires connected to the back. You take those two wires which have a low voltage current and connect them to you wired door bell. With the battery operated doorbell you don’t need any wires to connect to. You just mount the doorbell where you want it and it connects to your homes WiFi.
you might want to consider trying the reolink wifi or poe doorbell. it is still new to the market and features still need to be added but it records fine on their nvr or sd card. it is also usable on home assistant and blueiris
I’m not sure. It’s really situational. Most houses I know of have the standard smaller transformer. And most of these doorbells operate better with the upgraded transformer. They will usually work with the standard but won’t be as strong of signal n stuff. So the better power supply is usually a big plus. They aren’t much money to get and upgrade.
@Fort Knox Co. thanks for the reply. I was sad to hear ringer requires a subscription. At this point everything has a dang subscription so I'm trying to avoid that if I can as well.
@@corporaldonut7917 yeah I didn’t know you HAD to have a subscription to just use the doorbells basic features. So that’s why I started looking elsewhere and found eufy. And I have no complaints with the Eufy system. We love it still.
I believe it just needs a little more voltage than the average doorbell. They commonly sell the larger doorbell transformer at big box stores now because of all the video doorbells needing a stronger voltage. So most video doorbells now need the larger transformer to run properly
This has to be the best and most informative video I found so far, thank you. I’ve been on the fence about what model to buy and now I know. Again awesome video

Nice! We still love ours. No complaints at all.
They are quite expensive £179
We almost purchase ring, thinking it was the best out there. The subscription was the deterrent.
We bought several unbranded in the past..just junk.
We will try eufy. We have the eufy vacuum.
The subscription IS a powerful deterrent. It's like you've got a ball and chain attached to your bank account.
Thanks.
Yeah we didn’t have good luck with ring either. And so far we have no complaints with the Eufy

No matter how I adjust the motion sensitivity on my ring doorbell, it's always too slow to start recording if someone walks up fast. I just get the back of their head as they are walking away, if they move fast.

You do know that they are hacked easily.. right?
@@sufferedlearnedchanged I wouldn’t necessarily say easily. But if “hackers” can hack into some of these major companies we hear about on the news once in a while I’m sure there could be a breach on a video doorbell. One of the nice things without having to use the cloud and having the local in-house storage, is that the only real way to get into any of your systems would be to be at your house and hack into your IP are local Wi-Fi. But then again, you would have access to all your devices connected to your Wi-Fi at that point almost. Did you have to upgrade your power source?
@@sean.g4516 yep. I upgraded the transformer. I did a video on how to do that too.
Thank you, I am purchasing the same doorbell and this was very informative.
You’re very welcome. That’s awesome to hear. We still have ours and we love it.
Thank you for the video, you mentioned the link that you will insert into the video, but it's not there. Can you please mention it in the comments or insert it into the description? Thank you.
Which link? I have product links in the description. And a video at the end showing how to install the upgrade for bell transformer
Thanks for the video. Is it compatible to 220V ? Also can I use the original Chime in 220V ?
Most all doorbells have a transformer that’s installed which reduces the power down before running out to the device. I have a video showing how this is wired in and if you need to upgrade transformers how to do that. But I’ve never seen one wired in on a 220v outlet. That’s a little overkill. Usually it’s on a standard 110-120V outlet and has a transformer installed.
This is the best video I have watched regarding this subject. Excellent job and presentation.
Thank you! I really appreciate that
I have the Eufy E340 and it's connected to my home base and the home base chimes when people hit the doorbell. you can even select different chime sounds through the app. it's great

That really was the biggest selling point for me. Plus I’ve had better experiences with how the doorbell actually works and it’s responsiveness.
Wish ring would have done that
It’s nice there’s so many options out there to give people options though. Whatever works for people and their budget.

Happy to be of help
GREAT video. I'm going to chuck my Nest camera and get one of these. Have you had any problems with built-in battery like Nest does?
I haven’t but I only used a battery operated one for about a month and then Went with a wired one. My door lock is battery powered and that thing is awesome. Deadbolt camera combo.
@@FortKnoxCo one other quick question: is the internal storage 8GB or 4GB? Has that been a hindrance to you? Trying to decide whether to go the extra for the Home Base.
@ it hasn’t been a problem for us. It stores months of video and pictures.

That’s pretty crazy they’d charge that much.

Very good information. I may look into Wyze and see how their products work. I’m Always looking for new and improved tech out there.

@Fort Knox Co. change the chime sound. Some reason mine is set to Christmas music.
@@novelx3983 you can change the chime sounds on the chime itself. There should be a small button on the left side of the plug in chime. If you press that it will cycle through the 8 different ring tones on the chime.
you just saved me from purchasing the other. Thanks! 😅
No problem at all. Luckily there’s many options out there. Each with their pros n cons.
Thanks for great explanation!
Does this also have rechargeable batteries or only hardwired?
Only the wired doorbell has local storage. Battery model stores on the homebase
I left ring three years ago because I found eufy much much better and no monthly subscription
I’m 100% with you. Same experience and I still love the Eufy system
I also use lorex good products can be pricey but a good product. It just works
@@Smiley-zm1rp that’s what matters most, having it work the way you want and expect. Happy you are liking them. They make good stuff
Would be nice to see the video quality. At night is it color or B&W.
once its fully dark outside it is a black and white style image. very similar to all other cameras out there. the quality is still pretty good, but you always seem to lose some of that sharpness when working in low light conditions.
Not with this Eufy.
i agree, very good information. im happy someone is just putting good videos out there with a lot of the same questions we all might have.

Thank you so much, Great Video and very informative and to the point. "AWESOME"
Your very welcome!
My eufy videos were stored on the chime that came with the doorbell
That’s great! Keeps them safe inside incase someone tries to damage the doorbell outside.
great video. Love EUFY so far. any idea how to add to an NVR?
Not quite sure how to add a NVR. Haven’t done it myself.
Everyone should read this entire comment .

Yep. I put a link to it in the video description
@@FortKnoxCo i read that this does not work with homebase 3

@@teaglet1 that’s awesome!
I would like to know if there is something to protect the camera from someone stealing it. Thank you
There is no additional protection on the outside to prevent someone from breaking it off.

Good info and review. One bit of feedback, "go ahead and..." is a real tic/verbal crutch.
I appreciate the feedback. Always trying to improve.

Haha. Very good point indeed. Yeah I think they all have their pros and cons. It’s just whatever works for your situation. I’ve heard the same about supporting systems. @@A.Dude. yes, they work on all devices, but for example, if you have a ring doorbell or some other ones when using your Apple Watch, you can view video or photos from your front doorbell instantaneously on your wrist watch.
Cool, I have a ring doorbell so far its ok, i prefer not to pay so once this device is dead i'm buying this.
Yea we really like the no subscription part of the whole thing. I think all the different doorbells have their pros and cons. But the subscription requirements of some I don’t like
Another main feature is that anyone can rip that off your house and the footage is gone forever.
@@333KINGPIN33 great info. I really like this one after using a few. It’s been very reliable and that scores big for me.
Does the camera do any facial recombination? Also, if I'm watching tv via appletv, will it pop the image of who is at the door automatically?
It does do Ai facial capture and recognition. As far as popping up on your tv? Not sure. It does work with Alexa and Apple Home.
@FortKnoxCo oh wow, Maybe I'm having WIFI issues. I'll have to troubleshoot it. Thanks 👍
@@fcolon1976 yeah could be the WiFi. And make sure you have the bigger doorbell power source/transformer. We had to upgrade that the get any video door bell to work right. I have a video showing that too
@@FortKnoxCo thanks I'll watch it 🙂👍
I had been a Eufy 2k Doorbell user for 2 years. It sounds nice that no subscription, etc.. However after going through two wireless doorbells, they have two significant flaws they couldn't fix.
It has two powering options. a, Battery that could be charged via USB, b, direct wiring via 12~24vAC
1. IT WILL NOT WORK CONTINUALY OVER A MONTH WHEN IT IS HARDWIRED, the battery need to be fully charged and reset, this requires pulling the bell wire out reinstalling
(personally went thru 3 or them and two software updates.
@@skyjack8884 that’s awesome to hear. I had heard the newer versions would be compatible with the home base 3’s. I may need to get one now.
What do you recommend for outdoor security PT&Z
With a long distance view beyond 20’?
David…. Have a Snickers! You’re not quite yourself when you’re hangry!
@@beri232 Snickers are delicious.
Totally agree brother, my RING works flawlessly, got is the first TH-cam er’ that I’ve argued with and things didn’t match up to what he was claiming.
They also steel your data and allow anyone with a computer to easily get a live unencrypted video feed.
I’m wondering if the power issues from your transformer were the actual issues you had with Ring. My ring doorbell was never this finicky as yours
Eufy come with free data backup to China also.
That’s always something to consider when making a purchase ! Thank you for mentioning that.
So what? you pay Amazon to sell your info anyways, might as well do it for free 😂
And apples make same for America 😅
If Amazon offers a renewed version them yes you could get that. I believe they offer some type of warranty with that as well.
@@FortKnoxCo Thanks for responding
@@buddyquest4575 no problem at all
Can you view the video live and speak to the caller when you are not at home?
I am torn between buying a doorbell or making my own using an ESP32 or a micro single board computer and camera sensor and 3D printing the enclosure
Yes. You can view live and speak to the person while they are standing there.
Best doorbell 2023 eufy I really like it
I agree. This thing is great
Can I record live interactions while I’m talking to person at front door
I believe when you speaking to Someone at your door through your door bell it is already recording that. So once your don’t with your interaction the doorbell will save that whole thing as an event.
Are you able to plug it in to a wall outlet and use it? We don’t have an existing door bell.
It doesn’t have the ability to plug in. It also
Runs off a lower power source than a standard plug.
What if you don’t have a doorbell? Can you still use it for the camera?
That’s good to know. It’s nice not being forced to pay for the service. Having the option to store your data locally is huge.
Hi, Not sure where the 2 wires are from when you put the plate up, Where are they connected??
In the video I’m installing the wired version, it connects to your existing doorbell on your home. Assuming your home has a wired doorbell, you’d remove your push button door bell and there should be two wires connected to the back. You take those two wires which have a low voltage current and connect them to you wired door bell. With the battery operated doorbell you don’t need any wires to connect to. You just mount the doorbell where you want it and it connects to your homes WiFi.
What if there is no wiring in place? Is there a battery operated option? Our current doorbell is all battery powered.
They make a wired version and battery operated. The links to the different models are in my description.
you might want to consider trying the reolink wifi or poe doorbell. it is still new to the market and features still need to be added but it records fine on their nvr or sd card. it is also usable on home assistant and blueiris
That is for the info. I’m going to have to check them out.
how often does the transformer need to be bought with the ringer? that's basically a hidden cost
Of course they would run there’s off an abnormal voltage? 16 volts instead of the normal 12 or 24 Volt?
I believe it just needs a little more voltage than the average doorbell. They commonly sell the larger doorbell transformer at big box stores now because of all the video doorbells needing a stronger voltage. So most video doorbells now need the larger transformer to run properly
