- It's almost time to kick of early goose season across most of the country, and to celebrate the occasion I put together an hour of our best early season goose hunts on the river from past years! This is a unique style of kayak goose hunting that involves white water, jump shooting, and a good bit of fishing along the way. So ready for goose season
My man Thomas back on em again. Just when you think mallards are big birds here come the B 52s honking. They have no idea how deadly you are with a call and your gun. You got class 4 rapids to negotiate to boot. I can only imagine myself and the bunch I hunted with doing that. Gives ya stories for the grand kids when ya get my age. Awesome as always. Yall be careful out there.

Seeing those 2 geese fall within a few feet of you after regrouping back up must have given you flashbacks to that one hunt you had where a goose nailed you. Looks like it was a fun hunt though regardless!

I'm from Europe and where I hunt there aren't even ducks/geese (I never shot one) and we aren't allowed to hunt the way you guys hunt (we hunt on land where our hunting club is and that's it), but I just love to watch your vids.

I am buying a kayak tomorrow and hopefully painting it and making it a duck build
Make sure to sand the kayak and use a clear coat when you’re finished painting its hard to keep the paint from chipping and scratching

Do yourself a favor and get a brown, tan, or olive drab kayak. You WILL chip the paint and if you have one of those colors of plastic, it wont ruin the camo effect. My first kayak was blue and after one use there were streaks of blue all over my camo job.

Yep! Most of the early season geese that I shoot get turned into jerky or burger
Hey bro, is river hunting geese like how you're doing it only possible if you have a group of guys with you, or do you think it can be done alone? I was out on the river a few times already, but haven't seen any flights of geese, zero. Only some geese sitting on water, but not in the air.
What type of choke are you using
Idk what he’s using but I recommend the Carlson cremator I’m not sponsored by them but they pattern really well with my gun!!!

Do you have any issues shouldering gun with the life jacket. I was looking at buying the old town lure angler II and noticed you have it. Does it get in the way ?
Nope that's the perfect life jacket for floats in my opinion! Doesn't inhibit shouldering your gun at all

Cool hunt but man you need to clean your gun! and ive seen how u be sniping those ducks you need to freshen up ur shooting skills with some skeet or something. love the content as always but stop being so hard on ur gear i wanna see how that franchi operates when its well cleaned and see if it still jams.(thinking about getting one)

These are all on public rivers! The land on the banks is private and some of the islands are but as long as you stay on the river you're good to go!
How many miles do you float in a stretch?
Anywhere from 5 to 15 miles
What are you using for your fishing setup?
I think that was just a cheap Walmart Lews setup
Many of your second shots were either low or behind. Fun!
Aiming fluid always seems to be a little low at the start of the season!
You almost got drilled by two or three geese. My grandfather lost eyesight on his left eye due to that. Be careful and call out those falling birds for your boys!
Haha yeah it could've been a bad one, got smoked by one a few years back and that was zero fun!

Nothing personal but I don't ever share names of places on social media. That's the quickest way to see a spot become overrun in my opinion.
