John Thigpen Hey Now! Thanks John...really happy to have you on board. Let me know content what you’re liking and hopefully I can accommodate your interests. Cheers! JD
Hi Jack. I got here from TGP after seeing your soloing over 7th chords, which is a little different from your Dead videos. I’m really much more into the a dead, The Band, Allman Bros, Little Feat, Ry Cooder etc. interesting that you play such different styles so well.
John Thigpen Well...yeah I’m a little all over the place aren’t I? That’s a good thing IMHO. I grew loving the Dead (first show@10y/o). But I always loved the guitar. In 82 a 12 year old me first heard EVH, my mind was blown, and I quickly adopted a lot of his approach. Soon thereafter other styles came easily because they were slow and I had some decent technique from the EVH songs and the lessons I took. That stuff paid off. SRV, Hendrix, Gilmour, Knopfler, Garcia all hit me hard over the years. Glad to offer a little of myself in these lessons and meet good folks in the guitar world via TPG and YT. I’ll see you around I’m sure...take care!
I like all those classic rock/blues guys. I never got into EVH or any shred. Not a fan of metal or even hard rock. Was never a LZ or Jimmy Page fan. Much prefer Clapton and 70’s-80’s Beck.
Just fantastic. Great take on this awesome song. I love your dynamics. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. I guess a lot of us had some extra time in 2020. haha
@@jacksnax4guitar460 Me too. Add Gilmour to complete the trifecta. I love your videos, even if I can never hope to play at your level. Please keep going!
Killer! You are a criminally underrated teacher!
Thanks!
One of my favorite Dead songs. That sounded great!

So cool! If Mark Knopfler and Jerry had a love-child ...
Thanks! They are both huge influences on me.

What gauge strings are you using? Those bends look too easy.
