Hi! Thanks for the feedback and I'm a fisherman. A couple of weeks ago I was fishing and catching carp. Here's the video ( th-cam.com/video/Zh0fdZALSgQ/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared ) I recorded (by the way, sometimes I still cook)
A Bowie knife with a bottler opener? How clever! You never know when you’ll need to crack open a “cold one” after a while of loading and reloading your flintlock and fighting off Santa Anna’s army!
Another great knife resto and a lovely scabbard. That bone handle is excellent! I like that you left the pits; a knife like that needs its battle scars. Definitely a two "beep-beep" job.
Hello roadrunner your looking well and another great video for us. I love it when you combine your restorations, hiking and cooking adventures together. The hunting knife looks amazing and the sheath is perfect for it. I really like the antler handle. Take care my friend see you again soon 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
Not the craziest knife I've ever seen. I love the handle you made, much better than whatever the original was no doubt. The sheath you made is better quality as well I bet. 👍
Your work with leather is fantastic! And the cracks in the handle are barely noticeable, and i think it will not crack further becouse there's epoxy strenghtening everything around that brass pin. Nice work, bro! Best regards from Brazil!
That was incredible in every way possible. The knife was a master work and the handle was fantastic. I could smell and taste the meat kabobs and the tea. Delectable!!! I absolutely adore you and your work.
great leather working skills, you should try doing a dirk (scottish dagger) and targe (small wood & leather bound shield) you've definetly got the skills set for it.
Wauw, that turned out amazing. And it looked very practical to have three hands that one time. 😅 The food looked tasty, always better when out in the woods. 😊
Excellet job with restoration, cool looking handle and matching scabbard, and outdoors cooking was just nouth-watering. Always a pleasure to watch your videos, give my best regards to safely returned Curtain Cat.
Really enjoyed this video been with you a while and I have to say that is one of your best sheaths yet masterful leatherwork shame about the cracks but as you clearly proved they’re not critical just aesthetic thank you for all your time and hard work. many thanks from England
I love your video and I want to learn more from you all the time :) could you send what you have next in the plans because I'm curious how many more of these knives you have :) Greetings and look forward to more :)
Beautiful job - love the handle!! I don't like leaving pits in the metal. Has anyone tried sandblasting the blade to get the rust pits clean, then try some Spray Welding to put a little metal on the surface that can be sanded / ground off, leaving metal in the rust pits and a smooth overall surface? I've seen journals or axles that are only a few thousandths off have some spray welding applied, then machined back to the right size.
Hello, thank you for your attention. You're right, maybe if I had a sandblaster and a welding spray machine, it could be fixed, but at the moment I don't have such tools. It's expensive, thanks for watching my content! ^_^
@@ScrewsAndTools I was thinking that someone in your city might be able to do that for a nominal fee. You're right, while sandblasting wouldn't be expensive, the spray welding might be. Maybe. Just a phone call question and if they get some advertisement / exposure on here, might do one or two for free. There are two questions for the welder - 1. what color is the metal sprayed on? If it's pretty much the same as steel, then the pits could essentially disappear, and 2. How much heat is involved with this process? Is it done on cold steel or heated steel? Obviously would affect temper if it's only done on heated steel. Wonder if you could lay down a spray steel that is NOT the same color as normal steel and then temper the blade. Might make a very interesting pattern, depending on where you've lightly grooved the blade. Lots of options / ideas. Take care.
@@VegasMikeP229 This is very interesting and useful. Thanks for the advice. I will ask and find out where it will be possible to get such a service and whether the hardening of the knife will be damaged. Take care.
I loved that handle and the antler material, I always love it when you use that. The cooking segment looked really tasty as well but I don't know if I like that new table from the beginning. The old one was all worn out but had a nice charm to it! Nevertheless it was probably broken and that's likely why you needed the new one ahaha!
Hello, thank you for your attention. It's the same old table, I just covered it with thick rubber, because to many viewers it seemed dirty and untidy. That's why I made this decision. Thank you for watching my channel!
Great job as always, true craftsman/restorer, but I thought you would have started a fire by rubbing 2 sticks together 😆 keep up the great work.Regards Steve, Liverpool UK.
Always like the handle work. u could've hide the crack with saw dust+glue but it looks OK. Or by making similar pattern like the crack to blend with it. It looks good anyway tho.
