If I'm not mistaken, every Time the Avatar was supposed to come from the Earth Nation, they picked the wrong one! During Kyoshi's Life they "chose" the wrong Avatar! Since it is Earth Nations turn again, it is likely they did it again!
Hello! I immediately subscribed. I just wanted to say your Mel video ATE and thank YOU for calling out all the bullshit behavior and after seeing this video, your takes are all 💅🫰🫰!!! Thanks for providing a middle-of-the-ground reaction to all this. All this seems to be just concept art so far, which can change quite a lot to final product. It must be upsetting for creators to have this leaked. I'm curious as to your enjoyment of Korra re: being a Korra stan. I thought the primary writing issue with Korra was that it tried to take on social and political themes in an attempt to be more "mature" but was not well-equipped in its ability handle those topics with nuance; which ironically, makes it less mature. I could go on and on about the writing mishaps and characterization dynamics and thinking about them makes me angry lol. One biggest thing that is concerning as you mentioned is the reason why the original fans loved ATLA so much was because how it well it masterfully handled the heartfelt characterization dynamics and arcs -- the writing had subltely and nuance, balancing comedy but not at the expense of a character's integrity. Sure, the worldbuilding was wonderful, but at the forefront, it was a character-driven first and foremost. Korra creators introduced interesting concepts in developing with the world, sure, but IMO the characterization was not as solid and floundered a lot of times (with exception of a few) -- worldbuilding that comes at the expense / substitute for character writing is not why I personally felt resonated with ATLA. But again, this is mostly concept art and a lot can change... so we shall see. At this point, I feel a little fatigued from spin-offs and derivatives and they don't excite me anymore.
I think Korra is one of those pieces that people tend to appreciate more as time goes on. It had its flaws(esp the last season)but I enjoyed seeing korra grow. As for the concepts so far, I guess we really have to wait and see what the creators come up with, but in the meanwhile, I am patiently waiting on the adult team avatar movie!
@@Nayawritess How funny! I had had the opposite opinion. S1 + S2 writing decisions soured so much for me in terms of writing (like, really REALLY soured me re: introducing political and social commentary without handing it with nuance, plus cheapening character dynamics), whereas S3+S4 was better... ish. but the unfortunate case was that S1/S2 put such a bad taste it was not enough to make up for me. It becomes difficult and sticky to make critiques or discuss about Korra's character writing, since the amount of trauma she underwent (I am of the opinion that just because you sludgepile a shit ton of trauma on a character, doesn't equate to character development if you don't back it up with proper character writing -- but then if I voice that, then it becomes that I'm can't understand or invalidate her trauma, so yeah let's not touch those thorns lol). So I appreciate content creators who do acknowledge its flaws and strengths too... re: the discussions of Korra There are aspects of it I liked still (Asami, Tenzin, how strong the S1 opening episodes were); some worldbuilding concepts/themes were good.
Lisssssten. I knew I rocked with you the moment you released that Mel video. And i'm sorry for this comment cause its gonna be long LOL I just need to let off some steam. I love Korra so much, I actually like LoK better than ATLA but people are freaking out about little bits and pieces of a giant story. I've seen people upset cause they are going to 'torture Korra again' and I really don't think it will be like that. I think everyone should have more faith in creators that gave us two amazing shows and not get up in arms before they even watch the new show and see the information in context. I don't know what it is but I feel like the past couple fandom cultures has gotten so toxic. I mean it was a little toxic before but that was just fans attacking each other. Now you have people attacking the arcane creators calling them all kind of names because their ship (mostly Jayvik) wasn't validated....like....what?? Declaring that this new Avatar show will be soooooo terrible and the creators have ruined everything because what- 2 minutes leaked? Out of a maybe 10 episode show?? There so much entitlement for a show that cost someone 9 years of their lives (in the case of the arcane creators) that cost you like 10 hours of your own. Creators aren't actively trying to make something horrible, but the way some fans make it sound its like, it doesn't matter if someone worked tirelessly to create something, if they don't like it it's automatically horrible media. Not 'alright but not for me' but just horrible in every single sense and that they made it horrible because they are horrible people. It's exhausting being a fan on the internet these days.
Firstly THANK YOU SO MUCH, secondly yess I love korra despite the criticism. I can’t imagine a world where to arcane writer actually interacts with fans, and twitter is a place that breeds such contempt
Edit: I was just gonna mention being curious about your thoughts re: Castlevania Nocturne (esp. in context of the discussion of Mel) and I went stalking on your tiktok and you've already made content of my favorite girl Annette!! :DDD!! OK DEFINITELY SUBBING TO YOU EVERYWHERE
LOL T First of all thank you so much for the compliments. Yes I’ve made content about Annette and I cannot wait till season two of Castlevania nocturne comes out early next year. Are you talking about Annette in the sense that she gets treated weirdly by the fandom?
