Personally, I view it as he loves Jinx but, is abusive and isn’t good for her.
I've been diving into their relationship again recently with- spoilers for season 2, so spoiler gap > > > > > > > > > > > Okay but now that we know that Vi and Powder knew him and Vander as parental figures before it all went to shit, and Silco not only lost his surrogate brother in Vander when they parted, but the rest of his found fam as well. So it makes sense that he'd be talking a big game about killing Vander and the children in Act 1 of Season 1 just to then ultimately adopt one of the kids as his own. My leading theory is that he was trying to prove to himself that he could kill them all, after all this is years after he and Vander parted ways (and thus years after he's left Vi and Powder's life) and he clearly still has some big feelings about the animosity there. I think he's trying to prove to himself what a ruthless, single-minded bastard he is by killing his brother and kids, but ultimately he brings a weak-ass game and and when he's confronted with Powder in an actual position of vulnerability he crumbles, both in that moment and consistently thereafter, letting his attachment to her fuck with everything from his reputation to his dreams for Zaunite independence. Their history also explains why Powder saw him as a source of comfort and protection in S1 E3. She was what, 5-6 when her parents died and she's 9 or 10 when she parted from Vi? So she wouldn't have known all of the politics of Silco parting ways with the family, she would have just known he was always there and then one day he wasn't, he was just "a bad person now" but wouldn't have any real understanding why. From a child development perspective, by 5 or 6 (when her parents died) she would have established him and Vander as safe adults/bonus parents/uncles/whatever the family dynamic was, and whilst episodic memories and details would get muddled over the next few years, the emotions tend to remain (Arcane even highlights this in a few other places). This means that when Vi hit her and left right after the explosion in S1 E3 and Powder saw Silco being all looming and scary, she wouldn't know much about Silco or what happened with him or why he's apparently bad now, she probably didn't even really understand that he was threatening her family (because in her head it's simple child logic - he didn't hurt Vander and the boys - she did). She remembered loving and trusting him, and she clung to that, that's all. And then yeah, years later you have this maladaptive parent/child relationship based in actual genuine love but no idea what to do with it. Yes there's a lot in how they're written that comes off as ick or sexually charged, but it's fairly obvious that they do genuinely love each other with great familial tenderness and there's nothing sexual going on between them, it's their ability to express love that's fucked up, not the motives behind it. I think Georgia Dow summed it up perfectly in how she talks about them - you can have love without that love being healthy. Silco was manipulative, Jinx was violent, both were unstable, and it's those abusive traits that destroyed them. That doesn't mean love wasn't there, nor does the presence of love make their relationship good and healthy. It's a really well written dynamic and I'm fucking here for it. Other random assorted notes - did he know Vi was in prison? Because yes he had Marcus in his pocket but we know Marcus wasn't exactly loyal to him and he seemed surprised to learn Vi was back after being released from Stillwater, and he never did anything to secure her or kill her there, which makes me think he didn't know, so it calls into question the idea that he knew she hadn't abandoned Jinx. But also it makes sense he'd think she had, considering how similar she is (in his head) to Vander and Vander, in his head, abandoned him.
Enjoyed reading this and idk how Silco knewww
@ aww shucks x thank you. Suffice to say I enjoyed the video too lol. Their relationship is such a fun subject imo there’s so much to dive into.
Completely fucking agree here, some people just can't fucking stop projecting their stereotypical headcanons onto the source material. I've been a jayvik shipper since day 1 but making Mel out to be a villain??? Like seriously so ridiculous Like truly, if Viktor's glorious revolution hadn't made Jayce fear magic and get paranoid about Mel having deceived him we could have had canonically star-crossed meljayvik and I'll never recover (I hope you know we had everything etc) (semi-joking because I genuinely believe they're setting her up to be a main character in the sister series and omg I kinda need a mel-centric season, I'm so willing to sacrifice the boys for that sry not sry)
Oh that last shot of Mel going to noxus is all I can think about
I get it Disney is trying to be diverse with the characters a black Ariel, a Latina snow white, and now a Hindu Rapunzel it's great they are involving other cultures and nationality but when you my age and grew up with these toons and the people where portrayed as white women of course people are going to be angry about it I'm cool with it I think it's great but others aren't like me. I mean can you imagine if they cast a white woman as princess Tiana you know people would lose their mind
Official Disney Princesses Arabic/Indian - 1 Chinese - 1 Black - 1 Pacific Islander - 1 Southeast Asian - 1 Native American - 1 (Harmful) Latin - 1 WHITE - 7 WHITE IS still the majority Live Action Disney Princesses Arabic/Indian - 1 Chinese - 1 Black - 1 Pacific Islander - 0 Southeast Asian - 0 Native American - 0 Latin - 1 WHITE - 3 WHITE IS still the majority
Silko often says "Jinx will take care of it" ....i am not sure how people miss that. He was using Jinx as a weapon. He started paying attention when her mental health started to deteriorate. Silko in returned tried to get ride of Vi instead of working on réunification
No no no no!
The animators might be douchebags, but you also have to consider theyre doing that to pander to the EXTREMELY toxic jayvik fandom who will literally go KKKaptain Krunch in your mentions Also not being funny, but this whole vid couldve been sinmed up with LGBTQ stans are racist too rbh
I disagree about Ekko "abandoning" a perfect life, fhat was not only not his lofe he was basically in another ekkos body... Anyone who thinks Ekko would do that doesnt understand his character and is imo not a good person As for Melanthia, the way racist LGBTQ stans have used her as this whipping post is sickening, but nobody including you seems to want to point put the obvious Vi and Caitlyn are complicated, i genuinely believe theyre a doomed relationship that is INTRINSICALLY flawed, i feel like the writers know that deep down and are laying the groundwork for more examinations of their relationship in future (every draft ive written has them broken up with Vi moving back to Zaun to be Chief Constable with Scar as her Deputy, courtesy of Sevika working out a deal where Zaun district polices itself, but they always endup hooking up whenever Cait has ro hoof it down to the lanes to pick up reports) Their relationship as mich as people frown upon it as bad writing, is VERY reslistic, there are MANY people in couplings where there are distinct class/ political divides and power imblanaces so for people to call it bad writing shows that we're dealing with vapid lids and stunted gamers with no grasp on the real world Now rhe problem i have with it is the idealisation of said relationships in a context where the one with the power in the relationship neither relquinqishes said power nor tries to (overtly) make ammends for their wrongs commited with said power (though many may think Cait doesnt have to do this becaise she lost her mom) I also think this ties into the idea rhat Zaun shouldve had some fairytale vindication ending, idk what show they were watching but that was never going to be the case, and any storyline dping so wouldve been rightfully met with derision, Sevika got a seat on the Council.. SEVIKA, sure shes probably the most deserving, but this is a HUGE step for a city that barely sees Zaunites as human half the time, she now has a voice and hopefully power to go along with it that isnt just vestigial, she also seems to have allies on the council in Shoola (Bald black lady with gold clock chain) and the xpu cilnbeing full of complete newcomers mean its a spmewhat level playing field Salo Jayce HD Badok Bald wine merchant runix cube guy &Kassandra are ALL gone So that leaves Sevika Shoola Mel (temporarily? Vacated seat?) Caitlyn or her dad? and a bunch of newbys we dont know who seem to make up the ferrix clan and others who jave never held seats before, so Sevika, even though ahes being looked down has more allies and equal footing in that room as a war hero than the majority of council members do, i see this as an absolute W
See that’s the problem with jayvik fans. They keep trying to make manipulation Mel’s sole defining trait when it’s not. She’s more complex than that, but they *must* keep harping on about it because it’s the only aspect that can be interpreted as negative. (And unlike Viktor, she doesn’t become a psycho cult leader or humanity ending threat. But don’t worry, he’s their little white boy so he gets nuanced character analysis) I think to them, if they don’t hyper focus on supposed “manipulation” then what the fuck else do they have to hate on her relationship with Jayce for? Mel’s arc goes from trying to be a good Medarda to trying to be a good person/leader *because* she saw Jayce fight for those ideals and realizes that she can, too. Being persuasive in politics is a *tool she uses* to achieve her goals, that’s not *who she is* Their attempts to flatten her character to one negative descriptor is typical misogynoir. As someone who usually likes the popular yaoi ship in fandom, I’ve felt so fucking unwelcome in jayvik spaces because they can’t stop themselves from being racist/sexist and I, as a black woman, do not want to see that shit. Like how am I supposed to root for jayvik as “toxic yaoi” or “cosmic yaoi” when Mel is apparently the devil for doing 1% of the evil they don’t hate Viktor for??
As someone who was SA’d and later in life dealt with manipulative people, I stand firm in the fact that Silco was indeed manipulative. I can’t say for sure if he had pedophillic tendencies, but he indeed groomed her to become the “savior” of Zaun should something happen to him. A part of me believes this is why Jinx killed him, because she was starting to realize his tactics of manipulation. I relate to Jinx in the constant paranoia of who cares about me and who doesn’t, and unfortunately manipulative individuals make it their entire MO to make you not feel alone especially in great times of need. Granted, there could have been some moral conundrum regarding leaving a young Powder who just lost everyone and everything in her life, but it’s entirely possible that her growing volatility changed Silco’s paternal instincts into grooming instincts. To groom her into fighting for Zaun, he had to show her kindness where it was rare to find in the undercity. Jinx very likely took his kindness as genuine, since he was the only person in her life that didn’t leave her ot think negatively of her. This can cause someone to be codependent, and I believe that if Silco wasn’t an outright pedo, his actions (either intentionally or not) made Jinx codependent on him. I’m sorry if you touched on the same points in the video, I literally only watched 1 minute before feeling so strongly lmao
lol no problem, I love when people talk passionately about arcane
Wdf🙄
We almost all have a parent or parents who we think/know love us that have incredbly toxic behaviours, we all know the parents who claim tough love methodology, the parents who smother and mollycoddle rheir kids etc They can all usually (outside of extreme instances) be claimed to love their kids, but we also know their childrearing techniqies are suboptimal, i think Silco is a VERY bad parent, not because he doesnt "love" Jinx on her own way, but because hes intrinsically manipulative as a person, he also has a hige chip on his shoulder tjats twisted him into someone who will use and sacrifoce ANYONE (except himself) to achive his goals, he involves Jomx in his work because he sees her potential as a weapon, and molds her into sonething fearsome, something he never was but wanted to be, sonething driven by his inadequacies compared to his "big bro" Vander, now in that world that cpuld be seen as good parenting because a kill or be killed world necessitates strength, but Vander raised a strong conscientious daughter in Vi without fuelong her self destructive tendencies so the Silco method is clearly unnecessary
Also to me, the creepy tone of their relationship is the result of Jinx behaving like a child around him. She sits on his lap as if she was still a child, hugs him like a child would... and it looks creepy because normal 17-year olds don't do that and neither her nor Silco seem to be aware of it. To me it wasn't seggsual, it shows how Jinx never moved beyond her childhood self because of her trauma. Silco never helped her to move on, he just painted over the mess with fancy new colours and called that Jinx while underneath, a young Powder was still stuck in this terrible moment and stayed there all these years. Jinx whole personality is in the end based around the trauma and guilt she could never process. A persona that resulted out of falsely "embracing" that she is "bad and chaotic", making the accidental murder of her family her whole identiy. Instead of learning "You were a child, it was not your fault", she internalized her guilt and "accepted" about herself that she was one of the bad guys, made to destroy and therefore, rightfully being with Silco. What else could she have done? She lost her family, convinced she was abondened by Vi, convinced if Vi did not love her anymore, nobody could, so she had to cling to every straw to survive and that sadly was a man who ws truly responsible for Vanders death, (for kidnapping him in the first place) and who left Powder to deal with her guilt on her own or in super unhealthy ways, using her confusion to create a destructive weapon. He may have felt love and affection for her, but people forget that you can love somebody and still not be able to express love in healthy ways. Lots of parents love their children and it does not keep them from abuse, because they themselves have never cleaned up their own mess first. I bet if the same thing happened with Vander still in the picture as her father (oh wait. it kind of did in season 2 ep 7) the first thing he would have told her :"It wasn't your fault, we shouldn't have left you alone. " Somehow, I cannot imagine Silco ever saying that if I look Jinx guilt driven psychosis in season 1.
So basically, she's grown up but is both mentally and emotionally stunted
Also, season 2 ep 7 confirms this. Powder lost Vi in that universe and we know how hard that was for her (think of her mental breakdown when Vi leaves to save Vander in season 1). But somehow, she still turns out fine in the au, which shows how Vander must have supported her and also not isolated and turned her into a weapon. Jinx was a mentally unstable lunatic in season 1 and in all those years Silco never helped her to process the trauma and taught her that the two of them could never trust anyone. So she was literally 100 percent isolated. No friends, no extended family, just his words and approval to guide her. The best example: With Silco out of the way, Sevika and her teaming up and becoming friends. I doubt this would have ever happened with Silco arround.
Tbh, it is even more ironic tbh because s2ep7 shows indirectly how much of a different person Silco would turn out if he had found Vander's letter. The necklace Jinx wears is actually young Silco's bracelet and... She still wears it in AU and uses Silco's basement for experimentations so I guess Silco still had a close relationship with Powder but probably much healthier one. It truly is what could have been...
@@recordofragnarokisapurehyp6660 True about the basement! Also Powders spot was so much more cozy in that universe, maybe showing that she was also cared for a lot better (I guess she never had it cozy in the main universe..)
It's strange to me that I, someone who has super shady ships and who actually ships these two...never felt a strange vibe between them, I never thought he was going to kiss her in that "baptism" scene, nor anything like that style. I find it curious, or maybe people who judge more simply notice more.
I'm sorry ...YOU WHAT? I'm kind of concerned
I am VERY concerned
bruh what the actual hell?…. why would you shipped Silco And Jinx like that?!
Omgosh finally a video discussing this.. I really hate that people deny the fact that he DID groom/manipulate her and think he’s a perfect parent. I cannot stand people mischaracterizing silco as a loving father the point of his character is to keep her from growing and moving on, And it seems people just.. forget??? Did we not watch the same show??? Anyways, great video!! Deserves a lot more attention:)
Agree if he did care about her he would have helped her fix her sister issue instead of making them worse and he wa sso maniplulativ even after death his voice wa sin jink's head
Grooming nowadays carries a sexual undertone, even when it shouldn't
I hate every second of it. He also trauma bonded with Jinx.... As soon he wasn't around Jinx started to get better
I agree wholeheartedly, but I genuinely believe Silco did truly love Jinx, and viewed what he was doing as the right thing to do with her as a parent. Even if it wasn’t that at all, and his love was incredibly twisted in reality. And that’s really what makes Silco such a great character in my eyes; his ability to be both sympathetic yet so very delusional that it warps almost his entire view on reality is unmatched in my eyes.
This vid deserves way more views. It's an excellent analysis of their relationship.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that
Why is this such a good vid like it’s concise and explanatory but clear on ur ideas and I love it thank you this sparked so much like conversation and ideas in my mind lol

This might be insensitive to say but I think casting of diverse actors in these roles should continue. Although yes they are facing backlash, consistently reminding people that diversity is important is going to do more good in the long run. We as fans should just remember to rally behind our girls, because they shouldn't have to fight twice as hard for just half as much. Also loving your videos keep up with the channel, don't let TH-cam turn you into a hate monger.
i think i saw someone say there was an even more uncomfortable scene between them but it got cut
Oh that’s wild
two things can be true at once especially with what the creators / writers have said themselves , of course it's up to each person on how they want to interpret it which is personalized, but i think when we are talking about what was intended by the creators, it really does sum up to silco genuinely loving jinx as his daughter but not expressing it as he should / learning to put somebody else above his desire for the independence of zaun ( as we see him express, avoiding especially with his line’s on not having weaknesses & stopping at nothing even encouraging jinx to be the same, which isn’t healthy but he does ). he viewed her as his daughter but also as an extension of himself that just so happened to have the ability for destruction, the ability to nurture what he wanted to be, what he was in her, ultimately a person with no weaknesses, a weapon as some say, it was a 2-in-1 deal, in the same way some parents blur their love for their child with wanting their child to follow their footsteps even if it ends up being them living through them ( which again is toxic and unhealthy. ) that's the reason he took her in, not because he decided to take a chance & see if she had the sole potential to be a weapon- he technically didn’t know jinx had unfulfilled potential until later on implied in ep. 6 when he mentions thinking vi was the "prize" until realizing jinx's own potential, being surprised by it. rather he saw her "betrayal" with vi as a parallel to his with vander, it's for the same reason the thing he holds up most to keep her co-dependent on him being along the lines of them being one in the same, them experiencing betrayal, them only having each other, them against the world. not only that but it makes a perfect parallel with vander, that's the reason his character comes to an end, because he fulfilled his narrative purpose, he was both the catalyst on "making jinx" in her story but in his story he ultimately came to "face" vander's choice, that was his story, everything that led up to him getting rid of vander because he was the one that changed him into the "monster" he now was, and taking over the undercity to fight for zaun’s independence's halted by vander's same dilemma ; zaun's independence versus giving up his child for it. i'd add that the reason for their "intimate, touchy" interactions has to do both toward his character and jinx's, both in the way he gives her a pass on a lot of things / never holding her accountable thus making it hard for him to say no or establish clear boundaries + jinx though older has clear "childish" tendencies due to her trauma, growing up but not quite ( said by the own writers, always seeking approval especially with vi ), making it seem off to people, because although normal for a child to get on their parents lap or touch their face, as we grow older that changes and even if we do it, it's not in the same way a child does it, unlike seen with jinx, being really close up & all over him. +this is a little unrelated but i want to add it because it helps to know what the creators / writers were thinking of when it came to silco / jinx's dynamic, we can see his office plastered with details of her ; doodles, her old inventions, her chompers hanging from the ceiling, his ashtray decorated, the same office he uses to meet the chembarons, marcus and his guards, not caring one bit if those things are seen, not caring that people know he has a daughter and that he views her as his daughter even when that would risk putting him as a disadvantage with people knowing he has someone he cares for, a show of weakness in his book & the last thing i have to add is episode 7, with silco’s reaction to jinx on the bridge & his care for her, it’s one of those things that has no way of being denied even more if you pay attention to the tiny animation of his body language, for a man who firmly tells even jinx that weakness, fear ; is to be discarded, he shows it in the form of parental concern & fear for her loss, showing signs of affection in a moment where he doesn’t have to yet does, where it wouldn't benefit him if he wanted to be seen as the calculated, put together man he always fights to be seen as. showing his “weak” state the same one he tries to hide in ep. 9 ( when threatened by finn ) with the same agitated, panicked breathing that he doesn't bother to hide and does when his daughter’s life is ultimately on the line.
❗️❗️❗️
Also the duality between how Vander parents and Silco parents is important. Vander being the more healthy typical kind of father-figure who puts the needs of his children before his own versus Silco obviously using and grooming Jinx for his own selfish desires. Silco hides the weak-fragile aspects of himself which is emotionality while Vander hides his violent-nature and anger. Vander tries to bring out the best in his kids - telling Vi to keep her good heart, while Silco encourages Jinx to kill her past self and embrace chaos. Even though it is gross and it is toxic, I kind of like the frame of the relationship of Silco and Jinx simply as a narrative piece, because it helps us as the audience root for Jinx to get out of that situation - but worry what is to come next between such a strange trauma-bonded relationship. It emphasizes the tragedy.
I personally never hated Mel. I think she's an amazingly well written character, and I feel like she's way more interesting than Ambessa(which is saying a lot because Ambessa is an interesting character, too). I love that Mel is a very beautiful and feminine yet powerful woman, so I feel like people need to chill out and just leave her alone.
If Mel were a man and jayce a woman, not a soul would hate on her. They'd call him a genius and smartest in the show and so awesome for "*winning*" such a beautiful woman with his 'charm'...but nah, the WOMAN is the powerful one and people call it manipulation? evil? Nah thats just sexist at its core. After watching s1 I was shocked to hear people disliked her.
I like what you said really and I totally understand where you’re coming from but Maddy is getting tons of hate from shippers everywhere for getting in the way of Caitlyn and Vi so…. I think shippers would bash any character that getting in the way of their ship you know. Honestly if Mel was a white woman she still be getting the hate for getting in the way of Jayvik. But anyhow glad Mel is a beautiful graceful black gal and also I realize black women look great in gold.
Actually haven't watched the show so an gonna go in now but great video
YOU GOT TO WATCH ARCANE
^^^ PLEASE DO ITS PEAKK
If I'm not mistaken, every Time the Avatar was supposed to come from the Earth Nation, they picked the wrong one! During Kyoshi's Life they "chose" the wrong Avatar! Since it is Earth Nations turn again, it is likely they did it again!
I don’t think silco didn’t love jinx. When Jayce demanded jinx in order to give Zaun freedom, silcos eyes widened and clearly he was in a huge dilemma. He even went to go talk to Vander, which is something im sure he has rarely done. We see him take his last breaths admiring the girl he saw potential in, and who he loved as a daughter . Ever since he took her into his arms, silco had someone who relied on him as a father. I think this altered his perspective, except unlike vander, he turned jinx into a weapon using her potential in a non-manipulative way. Everything was for the freedom of Zaun after all. So is this really manipulation? And maybe it is, but would it be unethical? I would argue against that. His last words being “you’re perfect” really resembles how much he loves Jinx, the girl HE created. Back to the baptizing scene - “Jinx is Perfect, let powder die”. Powder was raised by vander, passive and safe. Jinx was raised by silco, embracing her potential and aggressive. This is what Zaun needs to gain freedom. That’s why he “invested” in her more than anyone. So maybe he loved her as a weapon, but he also loved her as someone who he raised and saw as a result of his passion and goals. I think it’s a beautifully written relationship that people overlook as just a “Manipulating father - gullible daughter” trope.
Well done. A plus essay lol
@ thank you 😭 this show really has so much to talk about, also your video was amazing I forgot to add!
On a different note, try placing the text and other edits about a second or fractions of a second earlier than when you'd normally put them. They're a bit delayed. Especially for the graphic.
Yh I tried my best lol, the app was bugging but thanks ig
Kinda begs how much of it at the end was pure manipulation on his part since he stuck to his words about her being perfect. Or maybe Silco's desire to break Piltover into a warzone was really just that great.
❗️❗️❗️
lets chat x
We also got a Clive Rosfield and Astarion summer, too. 😉
In the end of the day, its all about the white queers.
Mage vikkktor watching torture porn of his best friend for months, and the delulu mlm shippers see this as romantic. meanwhile mel always shared values with jayce and had very realistic views.
WHOSE TAKE IS THAT????? Ekko is literally THE HERO!!! THE ONE! He sacrificed EVERYTHING for a world that treated him like trash 😭 I will FIGHT because he’s already done enough! GIRL I literally can’t-
It’s crazy how no one else is talking about this! Thanks for covering 💚
AWW NO PROBLEM
How do people think Ekko is morally grey?? He's a literal ray of sunshine. Ekko is continuously shown as a kind, loving person who tries to help people as best as he can. Like you said, he would make the best leader for Zaun! (Though I do appreciate Sevika. Her arc was cool too.)
Really good video. The audio could improve tho
I loathe how Jayvick shippers will either turn Mel into a cuck or a fujoshi for their ship
The outfit a little bit shein🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Im a simple guy. I dont like her cuz her colors are gold and white and i hate those colors but her powers are really cool ig cx
This reminds me of Iris from the Flash. Every member in the Flash team has messed up big time but Iris says "we're the flash" as in telling Barry he's not alone, it riles up an uproar. She jumps off a building to save him, crickets, she supports him the most but noo, cause she's black they just have to villainies her because they ship Barry and Caitlin. Who are absolutely boring together 🙄
I adored Mel and Jayces relationship and was excited to see it develop more. But it just kinda ended, no kisses good bye, no show of affection. They were my favorite pairing and their ending felt so lacking. It felt like arcane writers took the backlash of jaycevik shippers and decided to break them up. It felt so random. Im in no way convinced they should have ended that way.
Just discovered your channel keep it up
Thank you 🩷
Baby look you are the truth. As a bi black man I will apologize for the failure of lgbtq black men to protect and prepare black women for how deeply rooted mysogynoir is within a lot of white gay men. What you are seeing is multi layered but definitely has roots within the culture of white gay men and how they view black women in particular. I’m actually not a Jayvik fan because the ship is rooted in so much delusion it’s taken away from anything positive about it.
Definitely yt Jayvik fans for sureeee, lol not delusional 😭 but I totally hear you. Thank you so much for your 2cents❤️
Yeah, Lance was truly only in one Thing good. LYING
As much as I hate the way "media illiteracy" gets thrown around in fandom these days, Mel Medarda haters definitely deserve the title. There is no way other than willful ignorance, to come away thinking Mel is a cold, calculating manipulator.
Lisssssten. I knew I rocked with you the moment you released that Mel video. And i'm sorry for this comment cause its gonna be long LOL I just need to let off some steam. I love Korra so much, I actually like LoK better than ATLA but people are freaking out about little bits and pieces of a giant story. I've seen people upset cause they are going to 'torture Korra again' and I really don't think it will be like that. I think everyone should have more faith in creators that gave us two amazing shows and not get up in arms before they even watch the new show and see the information in context. I don't know what it is but I feel like the past couple fandom cultures has gotten so toxic. I mean it was a little toxic before but that was just fans attacking each other. Now you have people attacking the arcane creators calling them all kind of names because their ship (mostly Jayvik) wasn't validated....like....what?? Declaring that this new Avatar show will be soooooo terrible and the creators have ruined everything because what- 2 minutes leaked? Out of a maybe 10 episode show?? There so much entitlement for a show that cost someone 9 years of their lives (in the case of the arcane creators) that cost you like 10 hours of your own. Creators aren't actively trying to make something horrible, but the way some fans make it sound its like, it doesn't matter if someone worked tirelessly to create something, if they don't like it it's automatically horrible media. Not 'alright but not for me' but just horrible in every single sense and that they made it horrible because they are horrible people. It's exhausting being a fan on the internet these days.
Firstly THANK YOU SO MUCH, secondly yess I love korra despite the criticism. I can’t imagine a world where to arcane writer actually interacts with fans, and twitter is a place that breeds such contempt
Edit: I was just gonna mention being curious about your thoughts re: Castlevania Nocturne (esp. in context of the discussion of Mel) and I went stalking on your tiktok and you've already made content of my favorite girl Annette!! :DDD!! OK DEFINITELY SUBBING TO YOU EVERYWHERE
LOL T First of all thank you so much for the compliments. Yes I’ve made content about Annette and I cannot wait till season two of Castlevania nocturne comes out early next year. Are you talking about Annette in the sense that she gets treated weirdly by the fandom?
@@Nayawritess Yes, unfortunately ~_~ Omg when S2 drops I hope you share your opinions on it! :DDD!! Looking forward to it!!
