Iran benefits from turmoil in the area because oil is becoming more expensive and exporting countries like Iran and Russia does not mind if this turmoil lasts or take longer . Here’s a good question…name a country the US has invaded or bombed in the last 60 years that had nuclear missile capabilities. Anything come to mind?
Not the US and not nuclear missile capability, but Israel did take out Iraq's nuclear reactor right after the French engineers that built it had left and before it could become operational. One of those cases of being proactive rather than reactive. The idea is to take care of this concern in Iran before it becomes more of a headache should they fulfill their current plans for nuclear weaponry.
They also destroyed a Syrian centrifuge and killed the man responsible for it's construction when he immediately started to build another.

You do realize that neither the United Nations, UAE, Japanese, nor Norwegiens blamed Iran for the tanker attacks. Even the Japanese tanker owner contradicted the U.S claim that Iran used mines to attack the ship. The owner stated his ship was hit by a flying object.
