Lyrics:
Within a fountain of stars, deforming remnants pulsate
in eclectic wisdom sublime, warping quantiles vibrate
Divine, a glimpse of carbon-based life, A gargantuan symmetric pursuit
in harmonic order, monolithic derivation, of seminal repute
Arise - Emanation of cosmos and time
Revive - Relinquished, forsaken, deserted mankind
Omnipresent, eudemonic, abandoned in ecstasy
Beyond all finite and infinite, quantile elements scintillate
in serendipity stillborn, a harmonic resonance amain
Obscura are very good musicians and they have creativity. Their guitar solos are not just random playing, but very good constructed melodic lines. Many Heavy Metal bands sound generic and boring, but Obscura have their own original sound.
Agreed
Hellyeah 🔥🤘
Trujillo is mindblowing
@@Hadri_ARTthis was arranged and recorded by Fountainhead, not Trujillo.
@@tonyallen9615 my point is still valid. I d add that Trujillo is Better on every level, never seen a death metal guitarist play jazz fusion like him
the bass player is monster
Linus Klausenitzer, one of my favourite bassists!! He's amazing!!
Remind me of Chucks Bass Player for Death on the leaporcy
They are all monster
Why does he have more strings than my guitar tho
Sebastian Lanser absolutely killed it on this album. Great work by all!
I just discovered him via Panzerballet!! He's like Marco Minneman and Hannes Grossman mixed together!!
I love the parts which a sad elephant signs along.
LOL
Golden comment
2:35 the look of a man who is (and should be) proud of his work.
Damn, i directly clicked through that duration, lol..
I love how relaxed it is.
Absolute gem - my fav of Obscura🤘😈
"Filmed in Salzburg, Austria at 17th of October 2016". Wow these guys have the ability to travel through time. The music is amazing and fast, so they must have created a wormhole. Amazing music!
This is the combination of art, talent, and tens of years of hard work.
Respect!
that is the greatest sounding toms ive heard on a kit in a long time...
Literally some of the most insane guitar work to ever exist in this album
i think i've listened to this about 100 times by now, have all the lyrics memorized, and now i'm starting to try to learn it on guitar
i like obscura
Oh check the finger picking at 2:03!... Wow, this lineup might just have what it takes. I cannot wait to hear more!
+Thee EvanB I must also acknowledge the wicked awesome fulcrum blast at 3:08. Dammit this song/video's addictive! ~btw, I'm not a drummer. So forgive me if the term "fulcrum blast" is not used correctly. But if you noticed it, you know what I mean & that these guys all have uber talent! \m/,
@@theeevanb2747 it is called the Moeller (push pull) technique my friend
The bass line it's so romantic 😍
MASTERPIECE!!!
Oh great guys, JUST GREAT, release a kick ass song and leave us hanging 'till next year for the full album, i feel like i pulled out before i finish!
Heavy, Hard and Beautiful awesome wish I found this sooner
This is probably the most awesome song in the album!
refreshing and new, still obscura. love it.
New sounds but still very Obscura like. Love it!
What a great song! The amount of musical genius that was put in it, is simply inexplicable. I can't wait for the album!
Obscura delivering the goods! What a song!
i love the intro..
Mind blowing 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Great work guys🔥🔥🤘🤘
great lyrics!!
Love the song and the mix!
Love the clean guitar sound in some sections of the song.. almost makes it sound pleasant for a death metal tune heh.
This sounds great!!!!
anyone loving this should look up a local band call, Beyond creation.
yea totally a local band
well it's local to me, who live in Quebec :P
;-;
It's Beyond Local by now (heheh) but indeed both bands are pretty fucking awesome :D
BC are great, I doubt anyone in the tech death loop don't know about them by now though.
really good stuff!
Increiblemente tecnicos y brutales un gran equilibrio!

"Bitch... Im obscurabulous :v"
INCRÍVEIS, SEM MAIS
This shit fucking kills, still waiting on this to come in the mail.

@@Finn-gx6ir soon as it came, I came
@@lakeside1168 2018 album was awesome, cant believe that was 3 years ago :(
I like Obscura very much, 🔥🤘
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!!
+Aes Cyprium quick get the tissues!
Cooommiiing
🔥🔥🔥
HERMOSO!!!!!!!!!
If u switch the vocals out and cut back on blasts beats... they could sound like dream theater 🤘 awesome instrumental
Badass! Hope you aren't intimidated to tour the states. I was bummed that summer slaughter didn't work out for you this year...
Awsome song got it preordered steffen
Incredible armenian this band leaves me speechless
Armenian?
Awesome!!!
very glad to see a new album finally and look forward to a US tour? just to throw it out there, the faceless and gojira have new album's coming out soon and what kind of fucking show would that be!
"Carbon-based life" - is it a Cynic reference? :D
After many listens the track seems to be quite interesting. It sounds very different from what I heard on Omnivium but with such major line-up changes it was unavoidable, I think. Though it doesn't mean it's worse - not in the slightest. It's simply different. The riff in the beginning is pretty straight-forward but the guitar sweeps that come after it are very catchy. Linus also does an outstanding job on the bass - and it's very audible in the mix which is great! I like these chords played over the insane blast beats too, they create sort of an ambient atmosphere, very Obscur-ish :)
As for now, I'll be waiting for the rest of the tracks to show up on YT. I'm curious about this epic, long-as-fuck track with a string section and lots of counterpoint in it. Have you guys ever considered playing with an orchestra or simply creating orchestral arrangements of some of your tracks? Now that'd be insane!
+patrolmostwanted I don't think it's a reference. The lyrics in this song are better than that. To be clear, I mean better than being referential, not better than Cynic. This song is unreal. Never thought Obscura could be as good as the last two albums, but it looks like I was wrong.
yeah! obscura
vocals sound like ihsahn, which is a good thng.
+Tutatis Steffen also has a black metal band called Thulcandra in case you didn't know ;)
+DropdaLTDtoB Obscura's vocalist is the guy from Thulcandra? huh. wouldn't have guessed because the music is so different. Thulcandra is the shit tho, best dissection clone ever.
Alexander Simmons Haha yep Steffen worships Nodveidt. Under a frozen sun is one hell of an amazing and beautiful album.
Eargasmic!
AKRRRRRR FEBRUARRYYYY
ohh and river of nihil also!
It grows on you... I'm digging it now lol
realy good stuf!
Fucking stoked for the new album
AKRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAASIIIISSSS
very moist song chaps.
Needs more blast beats
nice!
This reminds me of Death's "Crystal Mountain", one of the few death metal songs to incorporate clean guitar into death metal.
+Musa Tariq Not really one of the few. There are lots of those nowadays.
+määp one of the few to do it properly
Musa Tariq opinions, though both are great songs
+Musa Tariq Death is their main influence in their songwriting.
so fucking good
sUPER!
So sick \\m//
fucking shred!!!!
Tab of tapping 0:11, PLEASE! Or any masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
Sounds like some pretty basic minor sweeps to me, not expert tho :D
+2scrimble9 Totally sweeping lol.
Check out Tom Fountainhead, the man who wrote it.
0:00 Scream Aim Fire Wtf
Both drum fills are different
bruh go listen to BFMV lol
the intro sounds a lot like "unnatural selection" from Havok
Yeah
perpetual infinity was the best track on this album imo
Is this the solo of the new guy or is it the inbetween guy who recently left the band?
Turn up the vocals, please :D Love the song tho, great guitars, love the bassist and also the drums. All the soloing makes me happy.
Tom Fountainhead is the man !!!
seven string bass? s e v e n s t r i n g b a s s? fretless? oh boy..
It sounds good so far and enough like Obscura, and I hate to be the one to say it, but I don't feel like it's going to top Cosmogenesis or Omnivium. I've listened to the entire album teaser, and now this full song. They're good, but they seem to be lacking something. Also, the drummer is good, but sadly doesn't seem to fill the shoes of Hannes Grossmann. One other thing, I hope the final production is of the caliber of those two albums, as I feel like those two have some of the best productions in the technical death metal genre. I hope I'm wrong about all this when I buy the full album, but regardless, I'll still enjoy it.
the vocals dont throw me off at all, but i would love to see something instrumental from them
Brutal although beauty.
Dude, what happens to the drums throughout the mix? They are quite present in the beginning and then kind of almost vanish later. That's a shame...
That bass tons tho
Death metal lyrics are too contrived. There's nothing organic about them. They're very intellectual, and what the writer is trying to convey is usually very thought provoking, but it just seems forced. It seems like a thesaurus addicted philosophy student.
Death metal lyrics? Nah. Tech/Prog Death? I could see your case then.
Shut up
WIDE SCREEN IS WIDE
Review of the album has been posted at BRUTALISM.com
Ihsahn sen misin?
damn 2.25 that solo
lml
Beside the singer, evything is good in this band. Nice original music.
Sounds like death metal now, you know what I mean?
Hannes Grossman don't likes this. xD
I know you can.
Fountainhead wrote this guitar solo not muenzer or trujillo
It's a great song, but the mixing is terrible ...
+Funeral Moon It ain't supposed to be in FLAC, this is just an announcement/teaser. Obscura has superb sound on other albums, so i expect nothing less on this too.
+Funeral Moon Says the guy judging sound quality based on a pre-release TH-cam video...
kvlt HAHA
+Funeral Moon It sounds slightly better on spotify
i love the mixing because: as a musician it is beautiful and pleasant to be able to hear all of the instruments clearly.
No skank beats? Tsk
Great song but bad mixing.
An AK-47 in full auto has more groove then this.
