- In this video, I review the latest season of Survivor, Survivor: Winners at War. I can't believe this video ended up being as long as it was, but with a season this massive, I felt like the only way to do this season justice was to go on for as long as I did. This video was recorded the morning after the finale and some new information has come out since then, but keep in mind the context of when this video was recorded.

Loved this season not only for the nostalgia but all the character moments as well. I think Tony showed himself to be the best ever and Sarah and Sophie proved that they were great players.

I was so cheering for Tony to win the fire making challenge. Not because I would’ve hated if Sarah was the ultimate winner of this season but because I knew Tony could beat Natalie in a jury vote. I can’t say I know that Sarah would’ve beat Natalie the jury vote

Michele is way underrated this season her social game was on spot again she would’ve beaten Denise, Sarah, and Ben
It's hard to say for sure she'd win, it's very much possible she could win but I think denise ben or Sarah could have won if they took out tony as that's alot on the resume, she definitely could win but I wouldn't say it's a garenteed win

@@commentingperson9554 Yeah, Sarah's social game was excellent as well and if she is able to pitch herself as an equal partner to Tony, an image Tony probably helps with, she could probably get the votes. I do think Sarah had the next best shot of winning.
Edit: (I believe I wrote this at about 1 AM because it made NO sense. Michele didn't have a chance, because even in her social game, her best asset, she was outdone by Sarah. I still think she played okay, and I think she's a good player, but she was very much outclassed by cops r us)

Natalie getting 3 advantages was terrible. She more than likely loses if there wasn't fire tokens.
She used the cards she was dealt with. Natalie played the best edge game and saying that she got three advantages is unfair is not a fair argument since Natalie earned all of those.
@@domchocolate9094 yes I know it's not fair to say that but it's stupid. You should only get 1 challenge advantage even if you do get 14 tokens. It made it so obvious she was winning. She loses tho because she struggled in the challenge. This stuff rly pisses me off.
Thing is she earned every single advantage and each of her competitors had a chance to win those same advantages. I felt weird about it at first too but hell she almost needs the edge idol to pull off a big enough move to have the jury even consider her. She flubbed the idol and couldn’t get Tony out though so no win.
Dom Chocolate Not discounting Natalie’s effort, because she definitely made the best of her situation, but saying everyone else had an equal chance to get tokens as her is flat out wrong. She was provided an uncontested opportunity her first day on the edge that not only gave her a token but also an idea of how the token economy would work. Nick, on the other hand, who lasted longer in the game than anyone else in the battle-back, had zero opportunities to earn a token. That’s imbalanced.

There was no old school alliance and Parv and rob blamed the Natalie vote on her and everyone turned on her

Exactly. The players didn't even know where the fire tokens they paid for advantages were going. I listened to a podcast and Sarah said that she thought that when she paid for the steal a vote that the tokens were just completely leaving the game.
I think Winners at War was one of the greatest for me yes there were too many twists and it sucks seeing all the old school players getting taken out one by one but I still loved it

Well she did idol Baylor out of the game though so that's probably what he meant.
You should make your own Survivor Hall of Fame and explain what the qualifications are for you personally and then pick them from each season

I love Michelle but she kinda just floated
She should have stood up and said " I want to face Tony in fire and take him out myself." Even if Natalie doesnt put her in, it makes her look way better. But instead when natalie told her she was thinking of putting her in, she freaked out and whined about it. She kind of just skated by and had no idea what she was doing. She couldnt get anyone to work with her and went to final 3. Why should she be rewarded for not being able to convince people to side with her
@@joshuasimber8588 I mean, I think Michele did make mistakes, but she was really killed by the fact that her allies, (Nick, Jeremy) made very poor choices towards the end, rather than her own mistakes. Add onto that the fact that she had decent reads on the game, but people like Sarah, Nat and Nick just refused to listen to her, and I think she played well given the hand she was dealt. I think she has a lot of potential as a player that has never been fully realized

@@user-gc1wj8tt2p She won 2 immunities, and was on the bottom the whole way. She wasnt able to make any moves or anything. She got as far as they let her basically.
Apparently Nick tried to flip Ben against Tony at the final 6, and Ben told Tony, and the rest is history. That's why Tony said Nick targeted him at ftc
Tony knew Nick was going after him for a while after he eavesdropped on Ben and Nick in the spy nest on day 29. The reason Nick went home that round was because they caught Michele putting tokens in Nick’s shoe which was for that disadvantage. Once they saw Nick was still doing shady things they decided to target him after Michele won the challenge. Denise would’ve been voted out there if they didn’t know what Nick was up to.

Finally!! Most reviews or podcasts are so pc and are afraid to say that someone played a bad game. I'm so glad you were completely honest about players games and this season. People feel that just because you say someone played poorly, that you're saying that they are a bad person. Which isnt true. I agree with most of what you said. Besides the whole Sarah thing. I dont think she is one of the grats, maybe bottom half of top 20 because she plays too much with emotions. Thanks for keeping it real

I think either cirie or Domenick should top that least, and there should at the very least be a shout out to Rob Cesternino. Not only do I think he played the first truly evolved game of survivor, I feel like he deserves major props for all he's done for the community

My favorite part of the season was how the contestants I wasn’t too excited about proved to be great tv or players. Sophie and Adam both brought a lot to this season.
Can you talk about what could happen (theories) in situations like:
* everyone is immune at tribal (idol, necklace, legacy) not by deadlock
* A 1-1-1-1-etc tie during the pre-merge
* A three way tie at the final Three
* And other weird situation
If someone else with Sandra quit on the edge, then we would’ve have a 15 member jury and that’s a factor of 3. A 5-5-5 tie at FTC could’ve been possible.
My guess for the three way tie at the final three: impromptu final 3 immunity challenge (probably firemaking), winner votes out one person, that new person breaks the tie. I think this would be really compelling because you literally are voting someone out to turn around and vote for a winner within minutes
I do know that a 1-1-1-1 leads to all 4 drawing rocks
How many of these winners do you think will play again? I feel like Wendell, Nick, Natalie, and Adam should come back imo. I feel like Michele and Ben could also potentially return.
To me, I think that Wendell, Nick, Adam, Michele and Natalie are the ones that are gonna come back for other season....
I could see a sophie return as well, and I feel like they'll still try to get Kim and Jeremy back

@@TWHowl That is a stretch. Pretty sure Tony mentioned that he is retiring from survivor... Sandra was also much more lenient with a return than Tony, and Tony is much more of a family man. I doubt production will be able to lure him back, but if they do no complaints.

I agree a lot with your assessment of Tony's win. His only rocky areas came from Natalie returning from edge, which is an insanely unfair and flawed twist to begin with, yet he was able to overcome it and sweep the jury off their feet. Also, the final 5 vote being the one vote he wasn't in the majority for, was really due to Ben's weird move, and not really anything Tony did wrong. Rob being in awe of Tony at final tribal was hilarious to me.
Tony was also in the minority in the Amber vote and technically voted icorrectly during the sandra blindside
@@Lexie-gr9tvThe Amber vote Tony was in on he was just one of the people that put votes on Kim in case of an idol. The Sandra blindside he was still on the right side of votes and knew 4 votes were going on Denise. An idol play doesn’t change the fact that he knew what people were voting. Same case at the final
6 where Natalie got 4 votes and they were negated. The only vote in his survivor career where he did not know where the votes were going is the Ben vote at F5.

I like this list
Parvati at 8 is laughable. She played like a first boot. She made tons of mistakes and her social game on the edge was terrible . Selling one advantage and buying peanut butter is all she did. For that, she’s ahead of Amber but I don’t see how she played better than the other 18…. the other people like Danni, Ethan, and Rob who were voted out before her actually had good social games on the edge.
Was about 8-10 for me in the survivor rankings but after the finale probably jumps up to 5-7. Only comfortably behind HvV, Cagayan, Micronesia, and Cambodia for me
Personally I think China is way better than Micronesia and Cambodia

Dude the Ethan Boot was all Michele. The Yul boot was all Michele. She was clueless in the post merge. Several jurors said they considered voting Michele but were scared there would be so many edge votes for Natalie it could lose Tony the game so foe that reason they were afraid to throw Michele a vote
The season can really only be viewed as a disappointment, made better by the fact that Tony played one of the best games and getting to see the older winners on the edge. But let's face it: This season was dominated by pregame alliances demonstrated when Michele repeatedly keeps Wendell around despite it working against her, Tony and Sarah making it deep, etc. etc. The implementation of Fire Tokens for this season was awful, it made the incredibly complex modern game even more complicated for the old returnees. Natalie coming back was not good either considering how many advantages and tokens she had. Watching Wendell, Adam, Ben, Nick, and Denise go deep into the merge was a miserable experience as well, as none of them had any game sense or did anything of significance. It just was a really sucky season that was "saved" by Tony dominating and rightfully winning.

This opinion of Michele was very yikes to me as I think she had a v strong game. Voting in majority and controlling the game is overrated. It's much harder to make it to the end from the bottom than from the top! Liked the video a lot though just disagreed with some opinions particularly about Michele and Denise.
He only cares about Power and Dominance as the most viable Survivor Castaway traits, metrics that invariably favor the men that he stans
Which part of her game was strong? was it being clueless throughout the post merge? Or having terrible social positioning and being on the wrong side of every vote? Or could it've been that the Jury didn't respect her and she didn't win in any final 3 scenario?

I have a theory about the recap. I think maybe they were originally going to do the edge challenge during that time so that they'd have time for the reunion. But when COVID happened and the reunion got cancelled, they must have shifted the edge challenge into the finale to make it long enough.

This season definitely meant so much to me. However, I did not like the tribals. There was way to much whispering and yeah it’s entertaining but it got tiring.
For me, whispering makes the tribal councils so much fun. It’s so chaotic and I love it
The problem is that it rarely even changes the result. They just panic and stall. Maybe once or twice it actually affected the outcome of tribal .

Denise, Ben, Nick, I felt like you could replaced with Tina, Mike Holloway, Chris From Season 9 all who wanted to play again and all of them where bummed they didn’t make it or was asked.
I really enjoy this season, some votes were boring and some of the gameplay from people like nick and Sarah was questionable but so many great moments! And the fact that Tony is the winner is the most amazing thing ever! Love this review!!!!! Thank u!

I feel like they made Wendell look like a villain to put him on the villains tribe for heroes vs villains 2 and Michele would be on the hero’s tribe
I’m so glad Tony Won, Tony and Sarah were the people I was rooting for since Day 1 (well before Day since I was rooting for them before the premiere)
i’ll never understand why sandra didn’t just play her idol for herself since it expired. she was guaranteed the merge & could probably go far
Sandra: the most overrated player in Survivor history.
My view is that Sandra wanted to go home and intentionally wanted Denise to do that. Pretty much, she wanted to quit but didn't want to make it *look* like she quit

If Natalie just made fire with tony she would’ve won. She would’ve definitely beaten Tony in fire making and if the final 3 were her Sarah and Michelle she probably wins
From the different interviews, basically the only person that Tony will win against in fire Out of the final 4 is Sarah...
Honestly I would’ve loved to see Natalie play better and win this season. I happen to love the edge and feel like it adds some really awesome dynamics to the game. I also hope to see it return so that way all of the people who hate it can see that it really isn’t so bad. Seriously though I think the edge is likely to result in far more cases where the final returnee either is voted out quickly or is a zero vote finalist.
When is your top 10 players list coming out?
Tony’s biggest flaw in his game this season to me was that he needed that immunity at the final 5. If he hadn’t won that immunity it’s extremely likely he would’ve been voted out (although I guess that does depend on who would’ve won)
@TheMeranianReview do you think Sandra going after bigger players was on purpose and ego. Like she went after Rob granted Amber wanted Sandra gone and it implied Rob didn't plan on working with her but she didn't know that. She also went after Tyson, told Jeremy in a secret scene that shock the shit out of me that wasn't going to use meatshield tactic saying it didn't help her and that not how she plays like she was really like bye Jeremy I don't need your advice which if I was Jeremy would've pissed me off because logically this helps you more than it does me we both benefit, going for Tony someone she knew and who wanted to work with her.
I remember her saying preseason she didn't want another female to play big win because that would take her spot as queen. Also I remember her not being keen on all winner season on the fact she wanted to be only two time winner and she aid these things in a tone that seemed serious.
My theory is did Sandra not wanna work with big threats because she didn't want one of them to win because people would say they are better than her. If this is true it amazing because Tony won!
Did the contestants know prior to coming on that it was going to be $2M pool? I feel like that would have been advertised to them ahead of time as an incentive . . .

I feel like this season is definitely top 10. And that’s because of the cast. I feel like this cast makes it too 10 worthy in itself
Tbh Tony did great but I didn't like this season. People like Denise, Ben, and Nick basically being duds for a lot of the post merge game really ruined it for me. I was also disappointed about the final 4 fire challenge twist(I just don't like that twist). It was very disappointing seeing Kim go home because she was the only one who realized Tony was a threat. Michelle also playing as bad as she did was disappointing for me too. So yeah Tony is great but I genuinely really didn't enjoy this season, may actually be one of my least fav seasons along with Nicaragua.
I don’t really like the final 4 fire making challenge, but I think it is one of the only ways I would like to see Cops R Us other than final tribal council. But... the final 4 fire making allows a chance for the classic player who gets robbed at final 4 to be able to win, and limits the chance of a dud winner. Imagine Gavin as a winner, and Rick Devins being voted out at 4 or Chris Underwood at 4.
@@chuckjokic4557 Yeah I guess but it just doesn't seem fair. It should be if there's a final 3 you vote somebody out at final 4, not you choose 1 player and the other 2 immediately go to fire, it just seems cheap to me.
Don't think it that bad it not an top 5 like some people say but I have it at 9th and yeah the duds stayed around I'm telling you man the big threats every allstar season better learn the duds will outlive us while we go home for being good at the game.
@@darriusbethea2373 Yeah. I personally would have this season extremely low on my tier list of seasons. I still would have preferred a 2nd heroes vs villains. Duds like Nick, Ben, and Denise(and Sarah in a way) staying around longer than people like Kim and Jeremy who were actually trying to play the game and not just follow Tony to the end was sad.
@@decemberdowell3779Jeremy just followed Tony as well… Kim’s at fault for her elimination just like everyone else. She set herself up to be voted out there. She played safe for far too long and because of that was saying she wanted Tony out to Ben and Nick, two of Tony’s best allies in the game up until that point. Voting out Adam sunk her game.
For me it is either this or HvV for greatest survivor season

I think that if they are going to do Edge of Extinction is that they should eliminate all ore merge EoE who didn’t make it back. Mainly because seeing Natalie get to end just pissed me off. I mean I like Natalie I just don’t think she played at all a good game here. And also to prevent like a Chris from happening again. I much prefer Redemption Island over EoE

Winning the last immunity challenge versus the fire challenge makes no difference.. In fact winning the last immunity challenge is more challenging because ur competing with not only one person. So, i dont see the logic of competing in the fire challenge if u already won the last challenge. If winning the fire challenge is the standard of winning then i suggest next time the last immunity challenge should be fire making or wind making or water making challenge...
I know this is a HUGE stretch and will never happen but what if WHAT IF for season 50 they had 50 castaways 5 tribes of 10 one tribe all winners one tribe all runner ups one tribe all first boots one tribe all med Evans and one tribe new players I would love to see how that would turn out how some of the early end evacuate would play the game

I agree with everything you said. I thought Michelle played an awful game and that Sarah made a mistake getting rid of Ben. I also agree that the edge screwed Tony but he still recovered. All in all great video and can not wait until you rank the top 10 players ever

I agree. It's hard to please people. He had some good points but ranted about more than appreciated the season.
I think there's an interesting point about the final 6 that most people miss. If the group does indeed split the vote, unless Tony and Sarah flip on Ben, they wind up being forced to draw rocks against each other and it very likely gives us a natalie win, as who else but Tony and Sarah was going to beat her at the end? The move they needed to do at the final 6 was put all three votes on Denise and just send her home

Huh? what would've happened was a 2-2 split, where natalie plays her idol, and Denise goes on the revote, thus keeping Ben and Tony's idols, leading to a definite Natalie boot at 5.
@@rambo8550 But you're forgetting, its a 2-2 split between Ben and Denise, so Ben and Denise can't vote in the revote. Why in the name of hell would Michele and Natalie swap their votes. If they stick to their guns, either Tony and Sarah flip and Ben goes, or Tony and Sarah don't flip and end up drawing rocks. It would have been catastrophic
I don't know if they'd draw rocks if there's only 2 people to draw them. They've changed the rules about that kind of thing after Cambodia. I think they might've done the fire challenge, which Ben obviously would've won.
@@rambo8550 No, Ben wouldn't be in a fire challenge, because, since the vote was deadlocked on him and denise, they're immune. This isn't like with Sarah and Denise where if they're deadlocked no one is eligible to draw rocks, Tony and Sarah still were

Great season for fans, below average for a new viewer. Strange finale edit for Sarah making it seem like there is a gender bias and women can do anything only to follow that up by easily her worst game moves ever, and some of the worst of any player coming down the stretch.
Man u are extremely negative. U should play survivor and stop taking bout how to win and go out there and win yourself. That is assuming u would get on the show
