- Today we are getting a ton of work done for the Piper Cherokee 160 project! After we picked up the engine for it the other week we want to get that project wrapped up as soon as possible. Once Joe and Greg get everything finished with installing a new pitot line and reinstalling the fuel tank over it, we are taking our new engine and getting it mounted up on the 160. We also had a few visitors that needed some help show up to the hangar, while jason checks out a potential new project!

Was a helicopter mechanic for 7 years in the Army. I worked on the OH-58 A/C before they got phased out and switched over to the Blackhawk and finished out my last 4 years with 25th Aviation in Hawaii. Seeing the Blackhawks brought back a lot of memories. If you guys are looking at possibly rescuing some old helicopters there are probably a ton of Bell 206 and 207 that need to be saved, as a bonus they don't take up a lot of hangar space.
...or cost half a mil. per year just to maintain. Let alone fuel.
we have a 58D we have for MX training and that thing is ridicuously expensive to work on
So cool you got to help the Army fix a Blackhawk. Who would have known such a small part could save the day. Keep on keeping on!
Thank you for supporting and watching our videos! And I am still jealous I wasn't able to be there
I bet they weren't kidding that the Army would be charged by our Gov't $50,000 for that part!
These Blackhawks and their crews are my neighbors. So glad to see them home, and so glad to see y'all helping them out.
Thank you for taking us on this journey. Saturdays just aren't the same without Rebuild Rescue. Very cool helping out the troops in the Blackhawks. Can't wait until the next video.Have an awesome and safe weekend everyone.
Thank you for making us apart of your weekend Brother! 👍🏻
Wow, in addition to all the work you do, I must give a shoutout to the film crew. I feel the video has improved substantially as you go along. Thx for bringing us along. 😊😊😊 John Ken
Thank you!
Hey Greg, thanks for explaining what you do in simple terms - have learned a lot of how planes not only function but are put together as well!!
Nice Rebuild Episode. See you on the next one. I hope you find your missing plane otherwise - get back your "Deposit" . Cheers Fellas - Greg - Nice job with Joe on Fuel Tanks Install. Peace ~
Having the Blackhawks refueling and You guys got to help them fix the chopper and get in their way home! 👍👏🙏🏻🚁
Dang, engine is CLEAN!!! Good work - will be interesting to see how much you get for this bird!!!!
As a modeler of planes and space craft, I love the way that engine mounts - it looks just too cool!!!
this is why i love Greg . HEY watch this joe what a good shot with the camera . nothing but a full on HD Back shot of Greg. that made me spit coffee all over my shirt and laughing . i love rebuild rescue would be so fun to work there
The 160 is going to be a sweet plane. Good to see it going back together. Waiting to see what this new buy is....suspense!!!
I loved seeing the Blackhawks! So glad you could help out our country! ❤❤❤
I’ve had that same issue with a Blackhawk. Fortunately it’s pretty rare, but easy to diagnose and fix. I miss flying those things. Keep up the great videos and I hope you find that plane.
101st is based out of Fort Campbell right down the street from me here in Clarksville, TN. Glad you could help those boys out.
The ultimate rescue would be Jason's orthopedist repairing the leg and then the arm. Need video of those procedures!
11:45 Am I the only one who heard "bolts in holes" but my brain interpreted "Boats 'n' Hoes" 🤔😂🤣
Sweet episode.....Got the crap scared outa me once by a squad of 6 Blackhawks coming home from physical therapy they were flying really low we are in the middle of a test/training flight pattern seen all sorts of cool military jets and helicopters
I really enjoyed flying the Blackhawk; it was a real pleasure to fly. I see the 101st has been fielded the UH-60Ms with the all glass cockpits. They are a game changer.
101st has had 60Ms since 07/08
The company I worked at for over 42 years, made the rotor hub for that helicopter. Glad I got a peek at it🎉
Joe, using the foot as a brace was genius - don't let ANYONE tell you different brother!!!!! 😂
When I see rebuild rescue I click. Love the work you're doing keep it up fellas
Thank you Brother👍🏻
I was a UH-60 mechanic and crew chief with the 101st and the California National Guard. Oh how I miss it . This was a great episode but then all the episodes are great . Keep up the great work
4 BlackHawks...that is awesome!
How do you loose a whole airplane..... lol.... maybe think about calling ahead to be sure u have something to look at...... you guys should think about coming up with your own "challenge coin" for when you help someone or someone helps you.... or a Rebuild Rescue patch would be cool.... love the videos....
When I was a kid, I used to watch 'Inspector Gadget' every single Saturday. Here in Brazil, there's a TV Channel called SBT which used to broadcast many American TV shows and cartoons like 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-air', 'Supernatural', etc.
Another great video, I like how you all dance around from machine to machine, it would be a little mundane if it was all on one plane, my attention span is very short lol
Thankyou for your service BOY'S whoooooo-raaa
any time Greg😎 shows up i know its going to be a good one
Rebuild Rescue version of Blackhawk Down. And Jason missed the fun
Rebuild Rescue being able to help out those folks in uniform is just so serendipitous and awesome. That's what Rebuild Rescue is all about!
Oh man this is gonna be fun!
My bet is next video, you buy it for free again XD Good work guys!
Getting that pitot hose through there… you should have given it that HAWK TUAH!!
I love my Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver. I’ve had it for over 30 years.
the way he was poking with his extender gadget i half expected the the passenger door lock to unlock and the door to fly open by mistake
Always a pleasure
Love seeing them fly over my house everyday just about, the Blackhawks
I like the airwolf helicopter. It was a good TV series.
What a holesome interaction.
Ya know guys, I have zero experience working on planes. However if I were any one of these guys, I'd invest in a special tool to grab and run cables and wires. They have several kind on Amazon for cheap. Seems like it would save them a headache or three.
Hell yeah
Ty
What a cliff hanger!
Where is your new plane?!
great video, a little for everyone. helicopters, new engine. great stuff and fun to watch. thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching and supporting Larry!
Love watching these videos and definitely like seeing Joes hat love Steve Morris engines
Great Video Guys...Thanks ';-)
Thanks for watching!
Glad to see some things coming togeather! Is there an AD on your arm, and how much, and how long until it is fixed?
You get all the cool rides but what about the kitfox ......................................................
Smart idea taking more time testing planes ahead of selling. Hopefully that'll not only give you guys a chance to find an experienced pilot for each type but also a chance to schedule (especially initial) flights at times when nobody's needing to rush off to the next thing. That should help catch any squawks while also allowing more time for detailed pre-flights, planning, etc. I've been a little skeptical in the past but... Appears you guys have stepped things up a bit the last few months in a good way.
If you are not flying a Chinook you are just flying a sling load :) Master Army Aviator 38 yrs.
I got to fly on blackhawks last week at the AL wing Civil air patrol encampment.
That engine looks really clean.
I love this channel!!!! New subscriber of Texas!!!
Awesome! Welcome to the Rescue Crew!
Thank you to our service members, and thanks Rebuild Rescue for being there to give those guys an assistance!
We all got a chuckle at @6:40 can you actually do that in that tiny aircraft? :) you can only imagine where that joke went .. :) and then we have the punch line .. "Alway a good day when when we can mount an engine on an airplane!" hehehe ..
Now I have to wait another week to see more 😢 oh well I’ll just wait
Porting and polishing an engine that only turns 2700 RPM seems like a good way for engine builders to extract money from your wallet without any noticeable performance gains.
Greetings from Germany... Good to see Black Hawks & crews... 😉 but some of those troops need to make a first stop at the Exchange Barbershop when they get back to garrison. Retired Army
@@user-kv7jj6gt4f my flight pay allows me to keep my hair long
be nice to see 2 videos a week again...
we had those exact Blackhawks at KCHO and one of them brock down.
There’s an old plane been sitting for years at a local little airport. It’s under a canopy at least.
You know, Columbia could have put on a new ring gear for you guys. And painted it too.
I liked the filiming of the episode its nice to see the work as you go
Awesome! Thank you Robert
"Been ran in" or "been run in," take your pick.
AYUP!!! BRAND NEW 1950's technology! Congrats.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yeah, 4 Blackhawks, that's cool.
I do love BRAND NEW USED myself, when i find herr
Very nice
Pt. 2 ....where'd the plane go
Who said Army Airborne don't know how to work a hammer?
Ngl, I thought you managed to snag a Blackhawk
how much HP over stock does that engine make?
You’re brave, going up in a Robinson.
Nice video 🎉 greetings from Norway.
Thanks for watching!
Just tack it onto the sell price. A "We overpaid so you can too"" special.
Just sitting here patiently waiting for the next free yacht video...
Boat update?
10:38 ouch.....
I seen 4 black hawks flying in formation a couple of weeks ago in nc I bet that was these guys heading home
Let's dab Joe another name cesnajoe
I'm fairly certain that it's just me, but it seems that cutting a tie down strap is a waste of money. It may save time unwrapping it, but you've just generated more trash. What if the straps are still useable if you had a way of disconnecting them, without destroying them first?
someone talk em into buying a blackhawk
I use to work for a distributor for Robinson and Agusta/Leonardo Helicopters, they are far superior than fixed wing aircraft. "It is far better to stop then land, than land and try and stop". Two great books to read, 'Chickenhawk' written by Bob Mason (unofficial part of the PPL(H) in the UK) and 'Low level Hell' by Hugh L. Mills. Both book are about there time flying in Vietnam, one a "Slick" driver, the other a "Loch" driver. Both book a great read even if you're not a chopper pilot. Definition of a Pilot - "Driver, airframe, Qty 1".
"We got to help our country" xD
On the next episode we go a buy a blackhawk and try to save it.
🤣🤣😅You never know
Joe said, "Well, we got to help our Country." Joe: This country needs *ALL THE HELP IT CAN GET!!!*
Ship Happens is amazing at milking a project.. 2 or 3 boards each episode. They stay on task however. Avoiding a project to delay it completion... is maddening.
"side dead center" surely ???
14,000 feet… I can tell you, it can go beyond that to 20,000 feet with oxygen.
And I have proof.
It's always fun hearing ATC when you ask for those higher elevations!
Under 14, no one has to track time though.

Whatever you do, don’t buy an early cirrus that needs work. I’ve talked to a Cirrius factory technician and other owners of early generation ones and parts are literally IMPOSSIBLE to come by.
Can We Help Save A Blackhawk ? Yep, but it'll take 4 years, 2 broken arms, a broken femur, 3 multicolored beards, completely strip everything, treat/coat every surface, replace entire instrument panel, rotor arms, overhaul engine, new paint and 2m hours of editing using 3m gallons of coffee. No biggie.
What about the boat??
Weird things are happening with youtube. I was subbed to the channel, i am sure of it. Then i saw a 2yo video of you in my feed and tought "jeez i havent seen a video from RR in ages is he ok?" then i found out i have been unsubbed somehow? i get that they do this with pewpew channels to try to demolish them but for a rebuild channel as well? weird.....

1:26 This happens to large aircraft as well. This happened on a KC-135 that was being prepared for takeoff by the crew when I was deployed. Engines 1 and 2 were on and they were about to start engine 3 when the aircraft "settled" it kind of freaked them out in the cockpit. I was outside talking to the crew on fire bottle duty as they were starting up the engines. Lol.
Szczerze to robią przy tych samolotach byle jak, jak w jakimś wiejskim garażu...
What ever actually happened with the Yacht???
God in heaven, will you please learn how to use the word "run" and not "ran"!!!
