This style of crabbing with a fishing rod is done on the west coast of america. California Oregon and Washington. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
I like a lot of the snares some of the guys are making and selling but I still enjoy making my own. I get a lot of pride from making my own gear, both crabbing and fishing! Ocean is a favorite spot too.
Bait and cage maker. Nice! Nothing beats putting in hard work making your own and catching with it. the snares people make and sell are great. Quality components and designs. I started with crab slayer cages. Ocean beach is the best. Thanks for watching!
Man those casts are bad ass. I think you might have missed your calling in the MLB with that swing. Great informative video - always heard about this technique but you broke it down perfectly. Nice catches.
Thanks for watching! Ocean fishing is way different from bass fishing. I am hurling around a 8oz punch weight. it’s fun though. Crab snaring is 2nd to bass fishing for me.
Great job catching those nice crabs. I got 7 on Wed when the conditions were perfect, you are right about snaring 2 or 3 hrs before low tide. Good video explaining the process to your viewers.
Thanks for watching. Congrats on your 7. Appreciate the compliments. I want to do a how to crab snare video one day from making cages, conditions, etc.
Thanks! I just subscribed to you yesterday. Thanks for coming to my channel. Loved your family crab snaring videos. A second rod would be nice. Conditions were great pulling up 3 doubles
Thanks for watching! Tips. I’ll make a how to crab snaring video soon. I would say energy waves and crab snare loops (loops thst reopen on their own) are the most important. Bait:squid and anchovy. Bigger rods easier time (10 to 12’ heavy) also bigger reels 8000 penn size reels easier time.
@@lordzenchi it is a plano deep 3700 box i got it from ebay. There are two versions. I got the one without the all the way dividers. I am thinking about switching to a bulkier worm box like Flambeau Outdoors 4510 Super Half Satchel Soft Bait Organizer 15x8x6.25-Inch
Thanks for watching! For crab snaring, i just prefer around the slack part of low tide. I go 3 hours before when it is still outgoing. Then crab 2 hours after the lowest point of the tide when it start rising and becomes incoming. During the slack part of the tide, i feel the crabs move around more, and feed more, and that is when i start catching doubles. Hope that helps
Thanks going to Humboldt for holidays my family lives there been getting some Guage busters but sounds like I need to go a little longer after high tide will let you know also getting addicted to deep drop santa barbara red snappers jiggly
@@PeterGajic i’ve heard further north has bigger tastier guage busting crabs. crescent city and fort bragg. Never been there but hope to go there one day. I never tried red snapper fishing sounds fun! Good luck on your fishing/crabbing adventures.
Thank you for the compliment. Thanks for watching the video. Yes, the rod is carbon fiber. That brand and model is very lightweight for 12’. Good for crab snaring

Dungenous is abundant here in northern california. Commercial just opened up in California so prices should be coming down soon. Thanks for watching!
