There is a typo on screen just before 12 minutes. The light transmission statement is correct but an ND4 filter reduces light by two stops not four.
Another fantastic video Julian, thanks 🙏
Thanks!
Great video Julian. Purchased a DJI pocket 3 for our Switzerland trip next week!
You’ll love it!
Subscribed still waiting for my extension bracket from Ulanzi a great set of tips and love the bracket combo on the back pack strap. I will definately be using this one 👍
Nice job! Subscribed!
Thanks!
Really well done and explanation was top
Thank you!
Your videos are very easy to watch, quite relaxing. I use the nd256 for slow shutter timelapses. Works very well
Thanks for the feedback. I am going to take a closer look at filters and how they can help with Pocket 3 videos, base on your comment I’ll look to include something on slow shutter time lapses.
Another nice video, Ive subscribed now! Thank you.
Super useful cheers! And yes, mines on back order until mid-April. And breathe...
It's been a consistent 2 weeks (ish) almost since launch... it will be worth the wait!
I live in the desert Southwest and film outdoor and 4-wheeling activities in the desert. This is where people love the ND256.
Good to know - thanks 👍
Nicely put together video. My pocket 3 is sharp in the middle and the left hand side but unfortunately isn't sharp on the right hand side. Could I ask you if your pocket 3 has the same sharpness across the frame. I appreciate that with wide angle lenses the edges are not as sharp as the centre but on my camera it's noticeable that one side is much better then the other.
Just wondering if you know that when using face tracking you can use the joy-stick to place your face off-centre - or in fact where-ever you want it in the frame?
Thanks Paul, I’ll take a look at my footage see if I can see something similar. Are you using the WA adapter? I know about the face tracking offset but don’t typically use it. Maybe I should!
@@ThisIsJulianCthanks. No, it’s without a filter and is quite noticeable when looked at carefully.
Bizarrely my DJI mini 3 pro also has a soft right edge of the frame!
I poll the top sides of the included case apart with my thumb nails and the pocket 3 will drop out onto your hands
That's not a bad idea
Great tips as usual Julian 😀 Note: @11:54 The on-screen text is incorrect. An ND4 filter gives two stops of light reduction, not four. My favourite filter is an 'K & F Concept' Circular Polariser, which is thin enough for the camera to park itself correctly with the filter still attached. The filter works brilliantly well for removing reflections, including from my glasses when I'm doing talking-head shots. I've checked the exposure and the K & F filter adds exactly one stop, so it's equivalent to an ND2.
Thanks for the feedback. An ND4 is a light reduction of two stops which should reduce the light to 25% of ambient light. That’s half for one stop and half of that for the second stop. I’ll check the text and my math shortly.
OK - that’s a typo you are right - an ND4 lets through 25% light but that is a two stop ND not four. Thanks
Julian - Have you used that peak design mount setup while biking? I'm interested to know how much it gets bumped around when you are leaned over
I have tried the PD Capture Clip while cycling with a Hero 11 and a GO 3. IMO there is too much movement of the backpack straps to hold the capture clip firmly to my body. Even with the backpack straps pulled in tight it's no match for a chest or helmet mount. It's not what the Capture Clip is designed for but I tried it regardless. I generally mount cameras on the bike, or hand hold them...
I do not intend to use the Pocket 3 while cycling, feels even more delicate than my iPhone.
Great, v helpful. I’m wondering about your use of the wide angle lens? And how that works with the filters / polariser? Thanks John.
Thanks John. I don’t use the wide angle adapter. Just my preference there’s nothing wrong with it.
Thanks, good to know. @@ThisIsJulianC
*Hi Julian. I've had my OP3 for 2 months now. Really enjoying using it on time-lapse sequences in particular. @**9:38**: To my knowledge, D-Log setting is NOT available in Time-Lapse Mode. Did you read that in the instructions, or view a TH-cam video where someone shot Time-Lapse sequences in D-Log Setting Mode ? I have the DJI D-Log to Rec 709 Lut downloaded from the DJI Website and loaded into Davinci Resolve. I have noticed a slight enhancement over Regular Colour setting mode when I shoot in regular video recording mode, but the difference is nominal.*
Good catch - went back to the release notes for firmware V 01.02.06.04 - DLOG was added for slow motion 120fps and not time lapse.
Any tips on running or cycling with the P3? I find when I shoot inverted with it to record running feet or low cycling shots the gimbal goes all crazy. Thanks
I haven’t tried either sports with the Pocket 3. I wouldn’t expect the gimbal to be able to keep up with running movements. I usually run with a GoPro, the software stabilization works very well when I am running and talking to the camera.
Hi and thanks for the comments. I used a different camera mount for this video and there is more camera shake. Going back to using a floor mounted tripod for future videos.
👋Привет из Москвы.
