This vet has probably seen so much, yet she is incredibly compassionate to the point that she is fighting back tears for Roxy and the loss of her babies. Thank you for your big heart and your professionalism.
Thank you to the vets and Koda's mom and dad for easing his pain. I cried as I listened to all he's been through and I'm so happy his surgery went so well and he's going to feel much better.
I can see why she fell in ❤ with KODA! he captured my ❤ also. I can feel for the momma's dog, and I wouldn't risk breeding her again. She seems to be having issues with breathing.
Just remember, when i got my wisdom teeth removed. All 4 of them at once...the doctor had a real battle...whole face was so swollen that i looked like a puffer fish afterwards...😢 Seeing the little horse my cheeks are hurting again!
Right? The vet even explained how traumatic and difficult birth is as a process! After something so horrible for the poor girl she *needs* to be spayed.
Kids is a real fighter !!!!! Roxy will heal but it will take some time to heal her loss😥. Her family will give her the support and love she needs . Bless them both ❤❤❤
Yeah, the narrowing of his muzzle at the top. I can imagine breathing difficulties. CUTE though! I imagine the teeth were a proportional problem. I had a particularly social pet hen; and would "talk" when people spoke or read to her. She did some work with a school who had some young kids having reading problems. They read to her. She talked to them. She didn't correct them, they were talking to HER so she paid very close attention. Very VERY calm, and loved kids. It's good for kids to get in contact with animals. Koda is absolutely adorable, and I'm sure the kids love him!
She looks older and not purebred, so I don’t see the sense of it, but I don’t fault breeders that are ethical. When I was a kid, pups would be born in a neighbors closet and you could get a great pet. Now, rescues with mental baggage are $500
As an American, I absolutely love the friendliness and good nature of Aussies. I would love to move there and live the rest of my life there. Everyone just seems so genuine. And I'm so happy for Koda! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I say that because most non horse ppl don’t understand what it is he has and think that dwarfism is what an actual Mini horse looks like. They want them and that has pushed backyard breeders to intentionally try to breed for this to sell to unsuspecting people for huge money.
Count your lucky stars he kicked your leg and not your noodle!!! I do believe Koda is one of the few horses alive with the qualified toughness and with the right kind of grit to be an Aussie!!
Poor baby losing her puppies 😢 given they mentioned she had previously had a living litter , why on earth would you put her through it a third time !? Leave her now to recover but please don’t breed her again, her body is saying enough! 😢😢
There’s many reasons why she could have lost the pups, doesn’t mean she can’t go on and have another litter. If they get her healthy enough, and she’s health tested + the stud is health tested she could be bred again. If she isn’t health tested and the male isn’t health tested she shouldn’t be bred as that would be considered Back yard breeding, not ethically breeding dogs.
@@Purplesquigglystripe I’m saying that it is safe to breed her again as long as your doing it ethically, example being health testing, proving herself in the show ring/field. Is she breeding quality? Probably not. But that doesn’t mean you should get on here saying she absolutely shouldn’t be bred again. If done properly she could be. Even tho she lost a litter doesn’t mean she can’t have a completely healthy litter.

How old is Roxy? If she was 6 weeks along when they got her, maybe she's at an age where complications happen? If so, maybe she shouldn't be bred again.
knowing they had to split the side of his mouth open had me cringe in pain. it reminds me of when the sides of my mouth get dry, i yawn, and accidentally split the sides of my mouth… it hurts so bad. so i can only imagine having that surgically done may feel 😭😭😭
Unfortunately, Minis’s teeth are the same size as larger counterparts. I’ve owned Mini’s for over 20 years and thankfully never had any problems like this. Just regular maintenance
Oh my God, Roxie licking her stillborn pups has me bawling! Poor mama, it has to be so confusing for her, and so sad. Hopefully she recovers quickly and has no lasting effects from the delivery.
With regard to tge dwarf miniature pony whose giant teeth werevremoved. Given that normslly horses ' teeth regrow during their lifetime, is it liķely that he may require further teeth removal in years to come. Or with regular dental examination regrowing teeth could be successfully "floated" to avoid further surgery?
It looked like premature labor, yes. Many things could have caused it- infection, a virus the mama might have caught, age of mama, a lot of things could have contributed to the loss.
@@chocolatefaerie that's not true. babies that are born early are at a high risk of dying, but if they do survive they grow up to be a normal size by the time they're adults. Smaller animals happen for genetic reasons, either they were purposefully selectively bred from small parents, or there was a random mutation causing dwarfism.
Roxy had 3 stillborn puppies before coming into veterinary office. If her labor stopped, could she have retained the other 3 and carried them to term ?
The risk to Roxy herself is too high. Any necrotic tissue left behind could lead to sepsis. Especially if it was an infection caused the pups to miscarry
🤣🤣🤣glad I’m not the only one who calls it a doodle 🤣 .btw I had a miniature toy Shetland who stood around 23 inches tall and was stolen back in 2001 😥😥😥 never did get her back .
Koda’s breed is miniature horse. His parents were bred to be small so they could fit in the coal mines. But not this small. minis are usually around 300 lbs.Well bred minis do not have dwarfism but evidently his parents were carrying it. Friesians also have a form of dwarfism and they are full size light draft horses.

It's disappointing to know this animal has been through this, I hope they were able to offer her as a foster mom for puppies who had lost their mom. It's the best thing for the dog's mental health at this point. "Better luck next time" how about you DON'T breed her again, you don't know why this happened, and birthing puppies is not fun, it's not a good life. Just have her fixed and let her live out her days in peace, stop trying to profit off of her. The dewarf pony should not be kept in such a small area and like other horses also needs to be kept with a friend. He's lucky that he has a vet taking care of him, but if he's going to be stuck on his own then he's not going to life a good life. Also I love the shrek headband what a legend
I really like that the vet showed Roxy her puppies so she knows she did have them!
The fact that the horse didn't seem to be affected from the pain of the procedure is probably an indication of just how bad he hurt with those teeth.
That is 100% fact! I hope he continues to be the funny little guy he is for years and years to come!

Roxy, I'm so sorry for her loss of her pups. The little horse,Dakota, and he is a trooper 💙 Good luck, Dakota .

If that's what she chose to use when she went into labor, the owners didn't want to force her into something else, simply for esthetics.
