I just got done with 50 cents hustle harder hustle smarter….something that really stuck with me was he talked about how learning from your Ls will always make your more successful. I can’t wait to see where this failure takes your business. I’m super super competitive as well. I worked a commission job for almost 25 years. I thrived off of setting a goal and totally crushing it. So I get how you feel about failure. Best of luck! You encourage me each and every time I watch your content
Love this! Yes, it sucks to fail. But deep down inside I love the challenge of trying again. We learn from our failures and the failures of others. That’s why it was important to me to make this video.
@@kaywayshop def so! Highly recommend his book. If you have Spotify premium it’s on there as an audio book which is about the reading i can squeeze since I work full time and then full time hours on my side hustle
Thank you for being transparent always in your video. I have a lot of respect for you guys and how hard you work towards your goals. We all fail at some point or another and it’s how we dust off the pants, get back at it, and move forward. I know it’s not easy, but I know it will only fuel the fire and make you more hungry for being even more successful the next time whatever that goal is. Thank you for all that you share with the reselling community. Always here to support.
Hello! Thank you for your honest video. I will be in Central Florida for a couple of months and would love to spend time thrifting for vintage quilts and fabric. I also use a lot of thrift shop denim, sheets, and drapery in my craft projects. Can you please recommend a few shops for me to visit? Thank you! Road Tripping from 🇨🇦
I know it takes up more space but what about blazers & suits? They sell for me year round & higher profit than most other mens items. Nothing sexy about it but definitely higher profit. I enjoyed the challenge & wish you guys the best…yall are my favorite reselling couple to watch!
Replay....good on you for being honest and realizing spending time with your family is important! However, do not worry. You are changing the course of your family's life and that of many others! I've learned a lot from you. Keep doing what you're doing! It is much appreciated and valued!
💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵 I absolutely love the raw video. For us that hold ourselves to goals and challenges, this is relatable. We learn from these experiences. It’s not about the fall, it’s about picking yourself back up and destroying the next challenge. I will be first in line to watch you and Kayla Destroyyyyyyyyyyy the next chapter in this book. Much love 💙🩵💙🩵
My son has a tattoo that says...Never failures only lessons! Thank you for being so raw and allowing us in to learn through your lessons and your successes!
This video had to be hard but I don’t think you failed at all. Sounds like you might have hit 100k in 100 days and that is beyond amazing. You both are so inspiring and I appreciate all the free advice. You repeat it a million times and say it like it is the first time every time. So thank you both and high 5 for a job well done.
What an incredible journey and a lesson for future successes. We appreciate your transparency and sharing your goals and journey with us. Take the time you need to recoup and regroup - Regardless, you all did AWESOME and are AWESOME!!!
You learned so much about yourself and your business through this challenge . You will be stronger for it. I love all you do for us who are starting out reselling. God Bless You!
I appreciate all your information, advice, humility, and passion since finding your channel and platforms. It helped my wife and I slingshot our part time eBay reselling BIG TIME! I also want to call out I purchased from your whatnot shows and it absolutely benefits resellers and regular consumers. All the product I got from you was GREAT! Now help me sell these dang Tommy Shirts 😂
I hear what you are saying, but wish you would not equate falling short of a goal with “failure”. Being an entrepreneur takes guts and set backs are part of the journey. Fact is, though you didn’t payoff the mortgage, you made progress, beyond what you otherwise would have. Your enthusiasm is a gift to the rest of us and your ability to deal with problems in the moment (Black Friday internet problems, your bidding troll ) is inspirational. Please show yourself some grace. Think of what you would say to your kids if they fell short-especially if there were elements beyond their control. I await your next big idea.
I completely understand that when you hit the wall hard, it takes time to stand back up. It just happened to me. I back slide in some areas of my life, and it has been hard to get past that and get back to work. So keep your head up and it will get better day by day.
Dude! Failing at goals sucks! 😢But what I love about you is that you have integrity! You could have stooped low and sell junk! But you’ll hit them goals! Now you know what to tweak! Do what you love!💕 ❤😊
You may not have made your goal but look how far you have come! Your doing BIG things and helping people change their lives by teaching them how to be free from the 9-5!! Thank you for sharing and all you do!
I appreciate the transparency. I'm a little baby reseller and the market has really dropped this spring. It helps to know it isn't just me or my inexperience. I'm sorry you failed your goal, I hope you understand that your honesty is helping others like me to feel like it's the algorithms or the market and not necessarily something I'm doing wrong.
Failiure is part of learning. If we don’t make mistakes we aren’t learning. Your mom would be looking down on you and she would be so proud of you for all that you have accomplished even though you did not meet your goal. You have integrity, honesty and are an inspiration for many on your channel. Pick yourself up and move on tomorrow is a new day. You’ve got this! Be proud of all you have accomplished so far.
Some things are beyond our control. These days the economy and the way things are in every area are rocky. Just like Covid hit us out of nowhere. Things happen. I will say that of all the people I follow, I enjoy y’all’s channel the most. Whether you paid off your house, made a million or just made the monthly bills, you encourage ALL of us, keep us coming back for your free advise and help, which most people want to charge for. The energy you give off is challenging in itself to be all we can be. Don’t beat yourself up too much. Be proud to be where you are right now. Most people would love to be there too. 😊
Totally agree with your assessment of the promoted notifications because I get so many I’m not interested in I barely pay attention anymore. Plus I did get some horrible stuff from OTHER sellers. Never from you! But yes their promoted policy sucks!
Agreed. I totally stopped paying attention to my notifications because it was all crap and people that I was never following. I would always just ignore them
Loved the raw video. I am failing too. I bought a ton of items. I love the sourcing but don't like the posting on the platforms. I learning what I do and do not want to sell. Thank you for posting.
I wouldn’t consider it a failure at all. I would consider it a learning experience. For me personally, I was consumed with snowboarding season and that’s where my focus was so I didn’t have a lot of time for any whatnot shows. Also, I had to consider my profit margins and be mindful of overspending on inventory. If you continue doing consignment on whatnot or eBay, I would consider a bigger split in your favor. More like 50/50. That’s just my two cents. 😊 Keep your head up and keep moving forward. You guys are an inspiration to us small time resellers.
You can still achieve your goal...do it from the opposite direction. Instead of setting a date, do from "how long will it take me to reach $130,000" to pay off my mortgage". With the numbers you were pulling in, 3-6 months is feasible, which is still excellent.
I’m reminded of what you said when you started the challenge, you said even if we don’t reach our goal we are still ahead ex: we make $75,000, that puts us further ahead. (Paraphrasing but it was something like that). I’m always impressed and still thank you for opening my eyes to this whole way of life!!🎉
We paid down about 10k during the challenge, but kept most in savings for tax purposes and purchasing new inventory. Our goal was to drop a large lump sum at the end of the challenge, but clearly we didn’t make it to the end.
When you have 15k followers and cant get enough people in you shows with good inventory, its safe to assume that live selling is a poor decision for many people. Getting close to full price on "what not" is an unsustainable model when people can just search exactly what they want on ebay. Live shows are either entertaining or bargain shopping for people, when the seller profits too much the business model flips upside down imo.
“You cannot truly stand until you fall” failure is the only way to learn, a lot of insight here! Also note, this economy is going down the toilet quickly, you can’t blame yourself for the tremendous inflation that is crushing consumers! Always keep moving forward!
Yes, we paid down some of the mortgage with the money. We also have some of the money in savings for tax purposes from the challenge. Obviously with selling a good amount comes with having to pay taxes too. We also invested in shoe inventory during this time which we still have a good chunk left over to sell. And of course we had our normal bills and business expenses during the challenge that we had to pay. Hope this helps 😁
You didn’t meet your goal- true! But you did not fail! Failure (like failing a class in school), you have to re-take the class all over to get credit. You aren’t having to re-take anything! Take the $ you have made and keep going! This is just a delay. You and Kayla are blessings to us who are just starting out- you share what you’ve learned! If you do $15,000 one month, make your goal $16,000 the next. Times are hard and sales are slow for a lot of people. Keep doing what you’re doing! 🙂
I have been following you and Kayla for well over a year, I honestly think Whatnot is losing its popularity. I was always watching shows last year and now don't even bother opening the app. I think its awesome you set a goal and went for it! You learned a lot from the process, you didn't fail you learned a lot. You can't win without a few fails. Head up and move on and set some new goals!
Replay-Your attitude and honesty are refreshing. You and Kayla are an inspiration to me and many others in the reseller community. I don’t think you actually realize the impact you make in the lives of others. You need to show yourself some grace. So you set a goal that you didn’t reach, that’s okay. I saw you having fun, making money, keeping the chat inspired, engaged and shopping. Kayla by your side working as hard as you were to move the needle forward. That is really what you set out to do. The challenge is icing on the cake. Sometimes we don’t get the icing, but the cake still tastes good. Proud of you and Kayla. Keep your chins up and keep doing what you do! 😉🤩
Failure or not, you’re crushing it and showing people how to make a living and create freedom in their life from a 9-5. Keep doing what you’re doing 💪🏻
We ended the challenge a little over a month ago. When we ended, our total sales on all platforms was around 128k. This number is gross, not net profit
So what? You didn’t do $130k. But it sounds like you did over $100k. That will pay down that mortgage substantially! You could use that as a down payment on the new house y’all were talking about. I appreciate your honesty. And I appreciate your advice about reselling. You and Kayla are inspiring! Thank you!❤
