Contrary to popular belief, I, Sucharita, on a personal level, don’t NEED my films to be ABOUT social change, ABOUT injustices, ABOUT feminism.Occasionally I also, like any other person, require a film about 3 besties, dressed to 2024 fashion perfection, flirting with Diljit Dosanjh working for an airline, and smuggling gold disguised as chocolate candy across international borders.

Again, like yesterday’s Patna Shukla, I'm speaking so much about the way these women characters have been written because this specific bit of writing IS the backbone of both these films, in Crew the hard work accentuated by very able performances as well. Crew is about reclaiming things women have been told are not womanly, in the most non-serious fashion. Ila Arun’s music was unwelcome in all our households because apparently ghaghra was just too blasphemous a garment to sing about. Theek hai nigodi jawani perhaps was too raunchy for a pre-teen to sing aloud in the family room, but because of her deeply agency driven songs, the singer faced a blanket ban in our homes. Crew features not one but TWO songs by her, updated to sound more modern, more alive.
When the ladies come close to the absconding billionaire and Jasmine steals his wallet, the first thing that comes out of it is a plastic choona bottle with a grin screw top, that she frowns at and throws away into the crowd, before taking what she really wanted. These ladies aren’t here to lead you into battle or revolt against the patriarchy. They’re just here to be audacious. They don’t want you to emulate them, don’t want to be your heroes, don’t even want you to like them, moral science lecturing isn’t in the DNA of this film. They DO want to eat the rich though, if that is something you're interested in, The movie is now in theaters, dekh aayein. And ALSO if Diljit Dosanjh makes you go weak in the knees and you’ve only imagined him being a sexy boy toy in a locker room but would like that very specifical female need to come true on the huge HUGE screen, yeah, go watch.

The only downside was the heavily censored cut they are screening. The numerous redubs, mutes and audio cuts is so jarring that it takes the life out of the movie. Even the scene you've added in the end of your video featuring Tabu didn't make it to the final cut of the movie.

It was there however they edited the word Chutiye to Chuse. . There were many scenes where you could read their lips and editing was made at the last moment.

It’s a great movie to be entertained with family and friends ❤ Watched it for Tabu, The chaos were funny and the dialogue delivery was the best, will be rewatching for sure . Hope the credit goes to the Trio and not just 1 person as the current buzz is 😇

Went to watch after this, Sucharita. The flashbacks within flashbacks also worked. Thoroughly hilarious and engaging. Way better than anything I’ve watched in recent years. Thanks for the Diljit tip. Went for him (thank God) but loved for the leads and other supporting cast too.

Normally I agree with your reviews, but this time I disagree. Watched it on release day and the Movie did not land for me. The best jokes were all in the trailer. I was almost tempted to take a nap after the interval.
Maybe cause it's written by duo of veere di wedding cause of that I can't decide who to blame but i'am still optimist about work of Rajesh Krishnan

Sucharita, Please talk about something else other than the cast and peformances of the movie . A good cast in crew is terribly let down by the inconsistent and childish screenplay and pathetic attempt at humour. The movie is unwatchable towards the end.
As expected, out of the comedy movies running in theatres, you selectively choose the ones with women as central characters.
If I am expected to take a comedy movie like a no brainer, Then what was wrong with a movie like Madgaon express which lands the comedy much better than this half assed effort at execution. But of course That movie has male protagonists. I understand your predicament. My bad . 😂😂

Diving deep into 'Crew' movie vibes! 🎬 The plot twists were fascinating as life lessons, teaching me 'undo' your mistakes while you can, and nothing is really impossible. Life's lessons hit hard! Also, i really belive the Walia guy was the v controversial Vijay Mallya ✈

This film was quite a dud. I was slightly excited about it because I had found the trailer interesting and the overall critical buzz of the film was also positive. (I would have watched it regardless because missus is a big Kareena fan. 😅)
But I found the film to be really bad with extremely lazy writing. 😓
I wonder why it clicked with so many critics.

I saw the film a few days back. I wouldn't refer it to anybody. A comedy where you fail to laugh, where not a single slapstick lands- is just a waste of time. Tabu and Kareena both look old and try too hard. This is the first ever film, where I found Tabu's acting tedious. Kriti was the only watchable.
