Thanks for this video and the tip on removing the front axle to get it out of the way. I have probably wasted 1.5 years of my life trying to replace these on my Tyco cars, Lol. Last year I purchased a bunch of new shoes to replace my older ones but I keep putting it off knowing how much of a struggle it will be Lol!
I like the idea of the double spring for each shoe makes a lot sense so it keeps the shoe even .. I have not tried two springs yet it painstaking enough to do one spring as you said lol ... Thanks
When TYCO / KENBRITE ! Had there Shoe Replacement ! ( HP- 2 ) They ALWAYS ! supplied a simple instruction Leaflet ! On EVERY SHOE ! You bought NEW ! Doesn't TOLLTOYS ! ( MAGNUM 440 AND 440 - 2 / HP-7 ) Do the Same !?? With there's !
Would bad shoes cause the slot car not to work. When, I pushe down on the slot car on the track it makes noise like it wants to go but when i dont hold down the car nothing. Any ideas on what is cause on the car not running on track. Thanks
Why not show the actual act of installing the shoe? The visual is what's going to actually help people I haven't replaced shoes on a slot car in 35 plus years. Just watching some random videos thinking about getting back into the hobby. I think watching someone else's technique could be beneficial to anyone

They are definitely tricky until you have installed them several times.

Put a notch in the small screwdriver to install the spring. Works great!

Definitely ... being its such a painstaking operation , showing how to do it for a newb like me is everything
The shoe goes in the little slot on the barrel on my car. Huge pain.
