- Industrial land developer JTC said the new Punggol Digital District could be the blueprint for future mixed-use properties in Singapore. The 50-hectare district in the northeast is roughly the size of 70 football fields. It is set to open progressively later this year. Within the district, there are cybersecurity, AI, robotics and fintech firms that can help drive the nation's digital economy. The Singapore Institute of Technology will also set up a campus there. So far, businesses and retailers have signed up for more than three-fifths of the available space in eight towers. Claudia Lim and Rebecca Metteo report.
But there is no hostel at the SIT campus!
They planning to build a hotel at the water front facing coney island side
Punggol is really going to be very crowded area (perhaps more than Sengkang) / nearly developed and the 'CBD' town of the North-East region in the next few years especially when the existing campuses moves to the Punggol SIT as well as the Business Park, Punggol Coast MRT and UOB bank coming to the district as well. That's why Teck Lee LRT should also be operational alongside the new two-car trains for the Punggol West Loop to ease the crowds at Punggol Coast station and hopefully the district will have transport connections to other estates
not only commercial and retail for mixed-used properties, but residential must be within development to give a good idea of how it will turn out. reason for mentioning this is due to wood square lacking residential, as of early 2024 first quarter
Was hoping if they highlight some new state-of-the-arts infrastructure / facility. Missed an opportunity here🥱🥱
Why is it heavily focused on tech sectors only? How about car repair workshops? Warehouses? Any industrial and commercial development in the west? As i see on the map, there aren't any industrial and commercial areas near chua chu kang, bukit panjang and bukit gombak
those are garbage areas
Car repair is filthy work.
offices and industrial are different. They needed to be green. You put low or medium industrial , the whole place will be a mess.
Now it is Quantum Mechanics, A.I. and EV. Why you still craved for obsolete tech?
sit need hv power bank to store this solar energy
Solar cells are nice, but what solution provides electricity during the night?
solar panels
hopefully in and out traffic to punggol will be smooth during peak morning and evening...
Already, now it is very crowded. The mrt between bishan, sengkang and punggol...is very crowded. Hope the Govt can do something about it.
Hoping there better job opportunity
Congrats to Hsien Loong for finally handing over & also to the New Boy Scout Team . firm that there need to go solar clean energy not using burned energy , burned energy hv to be just backup power .
JTC means factories location? I wonder how if people don't know technology, school exist to then Darkweb(create certificate) then they gain a status of decision and even job with real salary? Should have other methods like working there for a long time, then the ruling statement or criteria setting to reject like a summarised decision, to fix a bad life onto people that is their target? Discipline-expression ruling bypassing owner to profile target that owners will hate(and fire)?
Wow! The PAP govt has been ranked the most effective in the world again. Awesome PAP!❤❤
I always come to the CNA comments section to laugh at the comments 😂
It's like a freakshow
What's important singapore BECAME a multi-nation country, multi-nation-singapore so even with the saf soldiers also no use, it's the pap party mistakes and there's no way to u-turn back.

Sorli lor, by today's global standards, Singapore can be considered an isolated island.
Hmmm...very cheem, right?
You can't understand, right?
Ha ha ha!
Jamus reiterated the WP’s commitment to advocating for the least advantaged, aiming to create a more balanced, less stressful, and more inclusive system.
“If we wish to have a say in the sort of policies that will shape the society we want to live it, it falls on us to step up to be the change we wish to see. ” Jamus Lim WP
“A society is only as successful as the least well-off among us, and that’s why the plight of the poor and discriminated matter so much, even if they may be a minority in the population.”
and our qualified objections are always still in service of what we believe is for the greater good of our Little Red Dot.”(Even through the PAP keep accusing the WP of division)
Drastic reduction in car use, with a tiny increase in EVs (for the rich of course). With limited car space, regular people will be forced to either cycle in the rain, or walk to the one and only MRT. This is not a “smart” city, you should stick to commercial/business and residential in the same taller buildings. No, there’s not a reduction in the number of garbage trucks, because there’s still the same amount of rubbish. All you did was introduce another system which will require people to manage and maintain, thus driving up the cost of refuse.
Even when we disagree with the policies of the ruling party, we are still Singaporeans who love our country Jamus Lim
