Exact reason I recently got my first Fuji. I'm a Nikon man myself but it is a pain to take everywhere with me. When I am doing some work though my Nikon is coming with me.
The Fuji X Summit mentioned a "before June" release date for the GFX 100S, and it's actually pretty small (relatively speaking). You know it's your ultimate work camera (Moe can use the Sony!) th-cam.com/video/W7fHsSOGmVE/w-d-xo.html P.S. 3:50 Show Manny how to switch aperture control to one of the command dials ;) P.P.S. Agree, Sony is really going hard these days on TH-cam with their paid "reviews". It's a truly astonishing case-study both for marketing and for human psychology what Sony is doing currently. "I bought the new Sony because of 4K, IBIS, Eye-AF, lightweight" etc etc, you all know that. Robots reading up the specheets, and pulling down great photography cameras. I am SO GLAD that Manny did not start it in this video. You get gigantic plus point for that, everyone should follow your example for keeping real. I hope you will get more lucky with the lights in your next shoots.
Manny! Glad to see you checking out the XT3! A quick note, you can set the shutter speed dial to "T" and set your ISO dial to "A" and then in your button & dial settings menu set the "A" on the iso dial to your front command dial. This means you can adjust your shutter and ISO fully on the command dials. I shoot weddings with Fuji so this is a game changer.
Fujifilm next week: "Thanks to our new ambassador Manny Ortiz we will release a new firmware update which gives the Fujifilm X-T3 the ability to check your Instagram account in camera."
Fuji X-T3 is such an awesome camera. I picked it up in early December. I have an A9 and A73 and I must say the X-T3 is incredible. First off, it’s a feel good and nice looking camera. I love it more and more each day. The jpegs are beautiful, the lenses for the Fuji system are sharp and reasonably priced. Even the kit lens that comes with the X-T3 has amazing quality! For the price, and what it offers in photo and video...this camera is a no brainer. I had to add this to my set. Oh and it absolutely makes me excited to take pictures lol
I've shot with 6+ Sony cams, just switched to Fuji and absolutely love it. Full frame isn't everything. When i first held my friends XT-2 with the Fuji grip I couldn't believe how nice it felt in hand, how well made it felt and how different the setup is dial wise and feature wise. Also, Fuji glass is beast🙌
same with aperture ring. and exposure comp. the dials are nice, but sometimes you just need the speed of the command dials, like shooting a wedding. so his automatic vs. "stick" shift analogy breaks down... the Fuji is more like a dual clutch, paddleshifted car that's able to alternate between both.
So funny your comment on the aperture ring because that is one of the big reasons I went with Fuji. Trust me, if you use this camera for a week you will not only get used to the physical controls, you will LOVE them. The best part is you can check all your settings without turning the camera on. Love your dog, super chill.
Only works up to a point though. Many lenses have an unmarked aperture ring, so you still get that (for me) awkward control on the lens but not additional info out of it. I much prefer a top display for a quick look at my settings. Granted, the camera needs to be on, but everything is in one place not all over the camera. Plus physical dials prevent the camera from doing intelligent stuff, like resetting your exposure compensation if you turn the camera off (which is a life saver for me). So I get that love/hate relationship, I loved those dials if I had time to setup a shot, like on a tripod. Hated it when I quickly wanted to switch something.
@@alexanderhetzel8271 It all depends on the individual and what they are used to. I came from film and have always been more comfortable shooting in full-manual mode. As a result, I am used to making these adjustments and after a while it becomes second nature. Fuji have designed their cameras for someone who likes to slow down, take their time, compose the shot, and enjoy the experience of photography not just the resulting images.
You can map the shutter and ISO to the dials. Also, you can get the iridient plugin for LR which will give you a raw editor that was designed for the x trans sensor. I was a Nikon D750 shooter. Then I bought the XT1 as a crop body loved it despite the quirks. Then I tried the original A7 but didn't like it and the Fuji XT2 released and I got that one. Then the A7III released and I shot with that a ton, but once the XT3 released the Sony gear hasn't left the shelf, so I sold it. Eye AF on Sony is unmatched. Fuji is getting closer, but Sony still has the comfy lead. One day when I need the resolution I'll probably go to the A7RIII but I've yet to have a commercial client tell me that I didn't give them a file with enough resolution... But after shooting on film I started in digital with the D200 a "professional" crop 10.2MP body. Great review, if you used the camera for a month I think you'd definitely replace the Sony crop bodies with Fuji.
A great honest review from someone who uses gear for a living! I switched to Fuji from Nikon FF it was purely as I was getting older (65) and needed lighter kit. I found the exact same issues with Lightroom and couldn't get used to Capture One it simply was not for me! ....I cured the Lightroom issues by configuring Lightroom to Zero for all sharpening and noise reduction and using a plugin for dng conversion (Iridient XTransformer) which is done within Lightroom so there was not much to add to my workflow. Lightroom is by nature built for the conventional bayer sensor and not for Fuji's Xtrans thingy. At the beginning I was committed to making it work which admittedly was a pain in the arse! but now no issue at all. I do miss my full frame gear but the image quality from APS-C in Fuji was great (as you say not all APS-C are equal) and I've got used to the nobs and dials thingy but all In all happy. Looked at Sony as well but there was so much that I wouldn't use e.g the fast focus system and the like. Anyway great review Manny looking forward to more ;-)
I was a Canon shooter for years and bought a fuji X100T. It was so fun to shoot I actually used it on actual projects for clients and it did fantastic. I was still shooting film when I got my Fuji, so my hands naturally felt very comfortable holding the camera, but I can totally understand accidentally bumping some of the dials and rings if you aren't used it it. You're right, the way to get the most out of a Fuji is in Capture One, and the learning curve is steep. Once you learn it though, it's so powerful that it kinda make LR look childish.
I am using two systems. Nikon FF and Fujifilm I have 2 x X-T3's and used them for the first time for my last three shoots for ELLE and STYLE magazines and am so pleased with the results! I only shoot RAW, however. Capture One Pro makes the images shine. Don't process in ACR, do it in Capture One. For all other cameras, Lightroom is fine. PS..my Fujifilms are an X-T2 Graphite version, X-H1, X-T20 and 2 x X-T3's a 16mm f/1.4, 23mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2, 90mm f/2.0, 2 x 18-55's one for video and the other in case I need them for still while the video is being shot and the 50-140 f/2.8 and battery grips on all but the X-T20. Nikon is 2 D800's D800e, D810 and the 24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, 135mm f/2.0, 180mm f/2.8, 300mm f/2.8 and the 24-120 zoom...and the grips of course. But, the Fuji's are starting to impress me to the extent that....well, we shall see! Enjoy the experience Manny 😉
Won't Lightroom update to match Capture One's capabilities? It would seem to their disadvantage to ignore this problem. A lot of people have bought XT-2's and XT-3's.
Benjamin Kanarek beautiful to see Benjamin, the XT3’s are awesome- come and have a shoot with my GFX50S and GFX50R, you’ll absolutely love the quality out of those. Stunning. ;) So, it would be great to have you as a guest on our Photography and Video Podcast- ‘Podlamania’, our listeners will love you. :)
@@sharonraizor2839 the artifacting issue has been around since forever, fujifilm users including myself gave up on lightroom a long time ago seeing adobe is doing fuckall about it. It's good to see companies like phaseone tailor software to specific brands and camera raw files
I've been a Nikon shooter but last year I purchased the X-H1 to add to my D750s and D500s. I've used it to shoot weddings, portraits, college/professional sports, travel, and concerts. You are absolutely right when it comes to making you want to shoot. And the lens quality from the kit to the primes are perfect combinations. Thank you, Manny for giving Fujifilm a fair shake and objective review unlike Fro who just likes to poop on Fujifilm. I actually started using Lumiar for editing as well.
Don't forget that one of the real positive aspects of owning a Fuji is that the are constantly upgrading the firmware of the camera. The fact that lots of reviewers had mentioned how much Fuji cameras improve after their release dates was one of the reasons I bought the XT-3.
James Howard-White definitely compared to Nikon/Canon. Would you say they update more than Sony? I’ve had two firmware updates and a new one coming soon to get the new features their latest cameras have. I thought that was pretty impressive. I absolutely love their tethering software for my laptop and remote control app on my phone too! As a tech guy I appreciate that Sony’s are computers that have a camera added to them instead of a camera with a computer added :)
@@charlesbcraig I had an a6000 and I remember getting one update over the years. Btw you should be able to get that 3rd update now. The remote app worked ok, until suddenly it didn't. It's similar to the Sony app. I expected better from both considering they're tech giants.
James Howard-White true but Sony has never really been known for great software unfortunately. Maybe someday I’ll upgrade from Capture One Express so I can tether in that instead.
Hey James, what do you mean by constantly upgrading their firmware? Sorry I’m need to photography, but I love the aesthetics and buttons of Fujifilm. Also another question, which software do you recommend to edit for Fujifilm?
I'm locked in with Sony for now but I really appreciate this Manny, its good to get such an objective and clear view at the green grass on the other side instead of being stuck on the same plot.
It took me a while to absolutely love the xt2 because of the worms..... The secret for LR sharpening is use the DETAIL slider not the AMOUNT like you would on pretty much any other brand camera.... Once I learnt that simple difference I'm all in FUJIFILM!
You should’ve set up your XT3 for run-and-gun shooting. It lets you control the ISO and Shutter Speed through the front and rear click wheels. You never have to take your eye off the EVF. You can see exposure preview in real time, faster than with any other camera.
So a quick note to future reviewers: Set the ISO “A” position to “Command” to adjust ISO sensitivity across the full range with the Front Command Dial Set the Shutter Speed dial to “T” and adjust shutter speeding with the Rear Command dial If you own GF lenses, set the aperture ring to “C” and adjust aperture with command dial If you own X lenses without aperture ring, press front command dial to switch between ISO and F-stop adjustment
Hi, Manny: As a portrait photographer skin tones are critically important. Have you compared the skin tones between the xt4 (or xt3) and the sony a6600? Today I looked at two videographers, one explicitly showing side by side between the xt4 and the sony a6600, and the skin tones in the sony a6600 looked horrible-yellow green/flat, whereas the xt4 skin tones were pink/warm/wonderful. Let us know if you've spotted any of these issues. Thanks so much!
Manny I recently ran into your channel, and I love how you explain everything, love how you show us every detail. Not to mention you list your equipment which is really helpful, you are the goat keep it up!!
I'm just saving up for my first dslr as currently shot with a point and shot and a bridge and I've decided that the Fuji XT3 is the one I'm going with. However, seeing your video has left me feeling more confident with my decision. Thank you, love your video as always.
I've been a Fuji shooter for over 5 years now (way back with the S-L-O-W X-Pro1) and you're 100% right about muscle memory. I actually find it a very intuitive way to shoot now. As for processing, I tried Capture 1, didn't like the interface, so switched back to LR. Here's the thing, though, for most of the shots I give from a wedding, I'm using the JPEGs shot in-camera, with very little work needing done to them. As long as you nail exposure (which shouldn't be too hard with an EVF), white balance and have a film simulation set which suits your style, there's not much to be done to them. The few times I'll edit a RAW file these days is when the lighting gets tricky, or for my WOW shots using off-camera flash, as these are usually the shots which will be enlarged. Anyhoo, great review, Manny :)
I mostly do events and portraits, but this is my plan. I love that i can send raws to one card and jpegs to the other. Makes it so easy. Dump jpeg, slight global tweaks. If any need special editing, i pull the raw from the other card. Otherwise, off they go.
I'm a Fuji shooter, but I fully admit that Sony kills everyone in the autofocus game right now. For what I do though, size vs image quality, Fuji is exactly what I need.
Yeah...i agree. But let's wait and see what Fuji releases with their new firmware updates. They tend to improve their cameras over time with these updates.
I chose the Fuji XT3 and ditched Nikon Z5 because I was pretty much bored with the Nikon interface. The issue with the AF is legit but doesn't trouble much. With the 23mm f/2 WR, I get crystal clear landscape shots and outstanding time-lapses. The dial takes a month to get used to. Great review overall. Cheers!
You can simply use Iridient X Transformer (as stand alone or as addon) to demosaic Fiji Raw and stick with Lightroom. About the Eye AF, Fuji will release a firmware update that improves Eye AF accuracy and speed soon. I made total switch from Sony to Fuji, big money and weight save plus they are good enough for both pro and personal works, I do miss 42mp sometime but not a big deal.
it's exciting to just look at that 56mm 1.2 in your hands, it looks SO good with that XT-3 body! Your shots were just FIRE too! Very excited for this camera
I do that when shooting weddings. I use the aperture ring on the lens because that is the cats-a$$ ... but use the front command dial for shutter. With exposure preview turned on in the EVF, a quick flick of the front command dial or turn of the aperture ring and exposure is set.
You made the comment about the manual dials and changing them during a wedding... One time when Zack Arias and I were hanging out he told me that part of his final in photography school was that the teacher blind folded them. He would call out camera settings and they had to adjust without looking. :) Great video by the way. Looking forward to more.
Now that you can touch other cameras I want to bring you here and put all my favorite cameras in your hands. D850 for its handling, EOS R for vlogging, my big old Mamiya...
As a fuji and Capture one user i can say that its all down to what you're used to. Really nice video! On point, clear, consice, objective but fair. A+!
At least you're honest. I own XT-3 for a while and reviews really don't matter to me now. Also, as a lifetime Lr user I adjusted to Capture one fast, way to fast. And I love it. I used it to re-edit my old Canon files and guess what? They ended up as 13x19 prints on my wall. Lr wouldn't let me do that so easy.
I'm about to switch over from Canon to Fuji. I have a lot of days where I'm not motivated to do anything, including shoots. I love the look of Fuji and I think that the look and feel, plus the engagement factor, are so much more important to me than any of these drawbacks. Thanks for helping me make my decision. I'm waiting on the X-T4 before I make my switch so wish me luck boys
thanks for acknowledging the worms.. some Fuji users still deny them.. love my xt3. not loving C1.. agree on the eye af .. even the slower (than a73 or a9) A7R3's aye af is a bit more responsive and accurate … you can set iso to the command dials.. but as a portrait shooter i use the dial.. great review bro!
Excellent video/review Manny. I agree with you not wanting to change your LR workflow. You can get good results from LR with Fuji files. You need to turn the detail slider to 0. Then you can sharpen to 70-100 if you like... The detail slider mainly sharpens edges of an image and works best with Bayer sensors with aa filters. The results are not quite as good as C1, but unless you are pixel peeping at 100% you will not notice the difference.
Randall You know the worms effect is caused only by applying sharpening that is literally the only thing you can’t do with Fujifilm & Lightroom! Export to sharpen voila!
@@schubidubiduuuu Yeah the Iridient X-Transformer. It works and definitely produces better results than Lightroom with Fuji RAFs, but it is still an additional step in the workflow. C1 is definitely a better processor, but I couldn't really give it enough time during the trial run to get used to it. I'm trying out ON1 now.
Great review bro!!!! Straight honesty from a Sony user! I switched from the A6500 to the X-T3 and agree 100% with you. Praying that the April 2019 firmware release they will totally improve the eye-AF. But Manny...no lens hood?!? COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! lol!
@@TheMPTV nah 33 is a super versatile focal lenth. Very useful and more maneuverable. You can't use a 70mm for everything. You can use a 33 or 35 for just about everything.
@@TheMPTV making it 33mm f1 will make it a lens everybody wants cause like others said, it does everything well enough. Also this gives an option for a 50mm f1.4'ish equiv look on aps-c. Right now we only have the 35mm f1.4 (which is old and slow/loud af no weathersealing) and the (lower image quality) fujicron 35mm f2.
You can set the manual dials to auto for ISO, T for shutter speed and even aperture to auto and program the front and back dials to use them if you are used to that on other cameras. You don't have to use the top manual dials if you want.
If you shoot Fuji and use the latest version of Lightroom, there is in the Photo menu an option called "Enhance Details". My understanding is that this was added for the Fuji raw files which, depending on your subject, can enhance the image. (some foliage can have that waxy/wormy look if you zoom way in on it) However, there are a couple of issues to be aware of so you probably shouldn't use it on all shots, plus not all shots benefit from it. Depending on your computer, it can take a fair amount of time to render the image. It will also create a file that is several times larger than the original raw file. I don't use it often, but on those images that can benefit from it, I can see a difference.
I understand your concerns about Capture One but the beauty of the program is that its interface is totally customizable. There are quite a few videos in YT-land that show you how you can set up the interface so that it has the look and feel of LR to make the transition easier.
I agree that the dials can be cumbersome, what you can do is set the scrolly wheels on the front/back for S.S. and ISO, and not worry about the dials on top, aside from the exposure comp! :)
I have been using the Capture One free Fuji app as a plugin for Lightroom, to bypass the Lr sharpening easy work around. Lr works well for everything else
Worms - although lowering the detail slider or using PS for final sharpening works well for shooting raw, its another reason to nail the shot in camera Jpeg if your output allows you...
Manny...The dials aren't too bad, but the whole Fuji X lineup is fully customizable. I realize it's hard to know/get into a custom setup on a trial run, but you don't need to rely on the dials. I utilize the thumb wheels for ISO, and shutter speed. Makes the process super quick. That said though...I shoot more than portraits. For landscapes or long exposures the dials are very handy for subtle adjustments. I got my Fuji last year after being a Sony user. Two fantastic brands. I have a Fuji XE-3 too and it's so small and light its unbeatable for the punch it packs. Love the videos. Keep 'em coming. Cheers.
In Capture One, if you go to Window > Workspace > Migration you can make the layout very Lightroom-esque. Capture One is superior to Lightroom in most ways but, as with any pro tool, there's a learning curve.
My video teacher told us a story about a crime scene videographer who was walking while looking through the viewfinder of the camera. He ended up tripping walking up the stairs and fell onto the corpse!
Thanks for the review. Your shots are awesome. You are one of the very few youtubers I follow on photography. You have inspired me to shoot better. Thank you, God bless.
He said is like a Grand Theft Auto Cheat Code, LMAO..Good one Manny.Although I’m a Sony Addict and I will Never Jump Ship,This is a Smart Move as this Video For other Brand Shooters..Great Job Boss like always...Keep it Coming.
I have the x-t3 and I must agree, doing post in lightroom sucks...however if you load the image, turn down the sharpening that is automatically added and open it in Photoshop you won't have that issue. I do all my fuji editing within the photoshop raw processor.
You're always killing it with the videos! I used to be all about Adobe. It's the pro and industry standard. I felt like I grew up with Lightroom and I couldn't use anything else. After editing 3-4 shoots on Capture One and Darktable, I felt pretty good using them to replace LR. They are cheaper and I feel like they have better performance than LR. There's so many videos to learn these new programs. It took a long time to learn LR since it was my very first raw editor, but now it's easier to learn new programs that pretty much do the same thing. People shouldn't be afraid to switch it up. DSLR to mirrorless, FX to M4/3, or lightroom to capture one.
Wow, you left the Sony program to try other cameras? That must have been a hard decision since you worked hard to get that, but I comment you for bringing different cameras into your TH-cam world. I think in the long run you will benefit from the decision. I wish you the best and I will keep watching your channel. Keep the great videos coming sir.
Love your videos man! And I'm happy that you decided to diversify your channel by incorporating different camera brand experiences! Also, your model is crazy beautiful man! I mean...damn!!!
I find that there are no problems with artifacts and sharpening with the Fujis in Lightroom if you just set your detail slider to zero. There's an abundance of detail anyway and you can sharpen (almost) all you want. Nice to see you test other brands :-)

I switched from Canon 5Dmk2 to the Fuji X-T2 and the .RAF file thing in Lr is overcomeable. You just need to be mindfull of the sharpening in LR and understand it better.
There are almost 900 comments here, so I'm sure someone already covered it, but to address a couple of you cons: 1. DIALS: You don't have to use the top dials. You can set the front and rear command dials to control F. and S.S. (just like every other DSLR) so you never have to take your eye away from the viewfinder. 2. EYE AF: The 56mm f/1.2 is a big chunk of glass, and one of Fuji's slowest focusing lenses. Beautiful. But slow. So naturally, Eye AF isn't going to be as responsive. And it doesn't have I.S., so you have to slow down to get the magic out of that lens. I will freely admit the Sony beats the pants off of Fuji in the AF department, but Fuji is still capable of doing everything I need it to do.
You commented on having to touch the dials to switch settings, there is an option to set iso/shutter speed to the front and back dials near the shutter, literally keeping your eye locked into the EVF the whole time you are shooting. That feature has been around for ages and would quickly change your opinion of how it handles in the field. Just thought you and your audience would benefit from such a small but important feature.
And I have stood pat editing on LR with Fuji ( Not a fan of C1 lol) I haven't come across any issues on any production shoots. I know i should use C1 because it does read fuji files way faster and better but I am stubborn and LR hasn't let me down just yet :)

The dials thing - set shutter to “T”, and iso to A, and you can control them from the finger wheels on the front or rear - configurable...
same with aperture ring. and exposure comp. the dials are nice, but sometimes you just need the speed of the command dials, like shooting a wedding. so his automatic vs.
Benjamin, I'll give it a year …. then you'll be shooting Fujifilm exclusively and using a GFX ;)
Wow Benjamin... It's not been that long since you bought your graphite xt2 with few lenses And now you are consumed...lol
Benjamin Kanarek beautiful to see Benjamin, the XT3’s are awesome- come and have a shoot with my GFX50S and GFX50R, you’ll absolutely love the quality out of those. Stunning. ;)
So, it would be great to have you as a guest on our Photography and Video Podcast- ‘Podlamania’, our listeners will love you.
You should check out the x mount lenses Rokinon makes
Glad to see you featuring other camera brands. The Fuji XT3 looks great. To invested into Sony and I love both my A7RIII and A6500.
Finally. Somebody who tests a camera from a practical test, and coming from another brand. A relief from all the specs / feature comparisons.
Thanks Jeroen. That was my goal 🙌
You should’ve set up your XT3 for run-and-gun shooting. It lets you control the ISO and Shutter Speed through the front and rear click wheels. You never have to take your eye off the EVF. You can see exposure preview in real time, faster than with any other camera.
So to set it up for run and gun you just program the rear and front click wheels to iso/shutter? Or is there more to it?
First time viewer and beginner here. Your video is awesome. You explain things perfectly for the novice. Very much appreciated. SUBSCRIBED.
So a quick note to future reviewers:
Set the ISO “A” position to “Command” to adjust ISO sensitivity across the full range with the Front Command Dial
Set the Shutter Speed dial to “T” and adjust shutter speeding with the Rear Command dial
If you own GF lenses, set the aperture ring to “C” and adjust aperture with command dial
If you own X lenses without aperture ring, press front command dial to switch between ISO and F-stop adjustment

You can use iridient digital x transform to create dng files that lightroom can process, or use it as a lightroom plug in!
Great review, happy you’re reviewing other brands now👍🏽
It literally doesn't matter what you're making a video of, you still make it so damn entertaining.
Yes! Sony is like a car with automatic transmission. But windshield wipers, audio and electro seat settings are hidden somewhere in menu...

Just revisited this video Manny as thinking of buying an XT3 as a walk around camera. Your pictures and this model look amazing !!!
FUJIFILM 4 LIFE! ❤❤❤
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback
So, you shoot both Raw + Jpeg?
oscar acevedo Yes.
That’s all that matters
@@MannyOrtiz that and cake.never forget about the importance of cake.

Yeah...i agree. But let's wait and see what Fuji releases with their new firmware updates. They tend to improve their cameras over time with these updates.
Sony user here, t thought canon‘s dual pixel AF still reigns supreme
I was like, “ Does Sony know he’s using a Fuji-film?” Good on you Manny. Just subscribed.
For the Fuji raw file issue for Lightroom I use the Iridient x-transformer to convert the RAF to DNG and it solve those wormy issues!
I'm starting with the X-T3 and ON1 photo software. And I love it.
On the phone now with famous photographer Benjamin Kanarek....hes saying nice things about you. He loves you man!
You can tell him that I admire him greatly!!🤙
Heey! Look who showed up!
I like that your review is unbiased, especially coming from a sony shooter
Put in T and you can use front dial and rear to control aperture and shutterspeed like a dslr, leave iso in A
I do that when shooting weddings. I use the aperture ring on the lens because that is the cats-a$$ ... but use the front command dial for shutter. With exposure preview turned on in the EVF, a quick flick of the front command dial or turn of the aperture ring and exposure is set.
I love my fuji dials! It's actually super convenient once you get used to it. I can't imagine going back to regular camera buttons.
You made the comment about the manual dials and changing them during a wedding...
One time when Zack Arias and I were hanging out he told me that part of his final in photography school was that the teacher blind folded them. He would call out camera settings and they had to adjust without looking. :)
Great video by the way. Looking forward to more.
Adventures in Photography & Life iso and shutter speed can both be set to the command dials so you never have to touch the actual dials
what a beautiful model, her eyes are hypnotic & your shots of her are beautiful
Now that you can touch other cameras I want to bring you here and put all my favorite cameras in your hands. D850 for its handling, EOS R for vlogging, my big old Mamiya...
Old mamiya sounds exciting 🤙

Great vid. My car is a 6-speed and I bought an xt-4 this past weekend. Love 💕 both.
Fuji's firmware updates are unmatched. They almost completely change the camera.
Yeah that’s a great thing
Yep and they have announced an update coming in April with greatly improved eye AF :)
Expect for XT-2 which has sometimes serious issues and fix nowhere.
As a fuji and Capture one user i can say that its all down to what you're used to.
Really nice video! On point, clear, consice, objective but fair.
A+!
Also, great model! You never stop to amaze me with the shots. Dont know how you do it!
Appreciate the comment Marius
Did you get also the 90mm? I found it to be a greater "killer" than the 56
I'm about to switch over from Canon to Fuji.
Thanks for the feedback Randall
Was‘t there a workaround to just convert the RAWs into DNGs with a certain program and continue as normal with Lightroom?
@@schubidubiduuuu Yeah the Iridient X-Transformer. It works and definitely produces better results than Lightroom with Fuji RAFs, but it is still an additional step in the workflow. C1 is definitely a better processor, but I couldn't really give it enough time during the trial run to get used to it. I'm trying out ON1 now.
If you don't like the aperture ring on the lens, you can set it to A where it doesn't get bumped easily and control aperture with the front dial.
Great review bro!!!! Straight honesty from a Sony user! I switched from the A6500 to the X-T3 and agree 100% with you. Praying that the April 2019 firmware release they will totally improve the eye-AF. But Manny...no lens hood?!? COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! lol!
You can program the front and back dial instead of using the top knobs. You can also change Capture one to match Lightrooms layout.
Fuji's coming out with 33mm f1.0 this year.😉
And it will be fuji quality tack sharp wide open
It will be incredible ⚡️
I dont get why the chose the 33mm focal length for that, its an odd view, they should have gone for a 70mm 0.95 (105mm ff equivalent)
Thank you manny you just saved me from a $3600 mistake of switching from sony to fuji. I appreciate you and your no bs reviews
Do a review again with lightroom updates and XT3 new firmware for improved AF.
Thanks for doing this video. I am a Fuji shooter and I don't have experience with Sony so it's nice to get the thoughts of a Sony shooter on Fuji.
Could you make a video where you show us how you edit your pictures? because this are amazing
I understand your concerns about Capture One but the beauty of the program is that its interface is totally customizable. There are quite a few videos in YT-land that show you how you can set up the interface so that it has the look and feel of LR to make the transition easier.
It is a magical combo, BUT the 56 1.2 is one of the slowest in the whole rage of lenses at AF.
I agree that the dials can be cumbersome, what you can do is set the scrolly wheels on the front/back for S.S. and ISO, and not worry about the dials on top, aside from the exposure comp! :)
thats what i did so you can Use it as a normal dslr mostly
Amazing eyes, beautiful shots, all dope shots
I have been using the Capture One free Fuji app as a plugin for Lightroom, to bypass the Lr sharpening easy work around. Lr works well for everything else
Version 3.0 firmware is coming out in April and will improve on an already wonderful AF system Eye focus will improve two-fold.
I am excited to test it out! Thanks Benjamin
Enjoy :-)@@MannyOrtiz
Worms - although lowering the detail slider or using PS for final sharpening works well for shooting raw, its another reason to nail the shot in camera Jpeg if your output allows you...
Another banger! The model had me rolling the “Instagram” comment.
Cheers.
try the GFX with the 110 man, that would be pretty sweet.

In Capture One, if you go to Window > Workspace > Migration you can make the layout very Lightroom-esque. Capture One is superior to Lightroom in most ways but, as with any pro tool, there's a learning curve.

I have the x-t3 and I must agree, doing post in lightroom sucks...however if you load the image, turn down the sharpening that is automatically added and open it in Photoshop you won't have that issue. I do all my fuji editing within the photoshop raw processor.
Can you do a review on your dog? Please! 😍
6:18 Speaking of "engaging", I dont think your dog was really engaged in your video.
There are almost 900 comments here, so I'm sure someone already covered it, but to address a couple of you cons:
Grand Theft Auto Cheat Code...Priceless :)
It's a good analogy to what that feature is.
Thumbs up for sleepy doggo!
