- I honestly don't know if I can keep doing this... I still SUCK at riding on gravel roads 😅🤦♀️ Nothing a little more practice won't hurt! I always seem to do best in a "Trial by fire" experience anyway haha! Love riding my Royal Enfield Himalayan regardless!

What are your best ADV riding tips?
Two fingers on the clutch and two fingers on the brake so you're ready for what ever.
Don't hold on to the bars to tight, your forearms will just get pumped and tired.
Let the bike do its thing beneath you, just keep in pointed in the general direction you want to go in.
Get your shocks adjusted for your weigh, both front and back.
You'll run out of skill before the bike run out of grip.
Turn off all the computer granny stuff, including traction control. Put good off road tires..maybe something like RallZ.. use rear tire spin to help control the bike vs over steering with the front, and go light if not at all on front brakes..some bikes have a good off road mode, but if equipped use it with the least amount of assists, maybe with minimal ABS..which I think would be just on the frt tire. And you know, know when to keep the RPM in the juicy part of the power band.
Rule number one, relax and let the bike do its thing. Jeff taught me that... That's all it took for me as a new rider to feel comfortable on gravel and such. I love it and can't get enough! 🤘🏻🍻
Nice video keep up the good work Jess Eve sound great
Think of it like doing donuts in your car in the snow when you were learning to drive.
Eve, fits. Beautiful bike love the new saddleman
I'm an Aussie, love watching you videos...
Eve is a great name 🇦🇺 🏍️
I really enjoyed this video. I liked it because it reminded me of the early days of your channel, when you would just ride and chat. To have you cruise with Jordan it made it especially fun. The difference from the early days of your channel is that you didn't go for coffee. I am drinking my morning coffee as I watch this. Peace from a motorcycle enthusiast here in Connecticut.
Don’t ride alone off road, relax, put risers on your handlebars high enough that you can stand up comfortably.
Alone is 75% of the enjoyment.
@@deepprey2776 I broke a leg once way in back country. I had to ride out. After that I never road solo again in the back country.
I take a Garmin Inreach and MX boots/airbag vest...but there are no guarantees on a bike so
@@grootsgracemissionI understand bad things can happen but that’s going to happen no matter what if your style of riding is sketchy. But doing sketchy rides is what forced me to learn my personal boundaries.i floated a valve 6 miles back in the woods and had to push it out. Would 100% do it again.
You'd need to pronunce it like Wall-e does though... Eve-ahhh 😄
Stay on a good track with your health. I have my ups and downs with it also. Proud of you!
Two things. One, making my hubby subscribe ASAP!! Getting you to 200K!! And second, I’m #TeamEve. ❤
Looked like fun on the Himalayan !! Eve is perfect!!! Love her!!! Ride safe Jess.😃😃😃
Eve, for sure! ❤
Interesting to follow how you develop your skill and confidence riding the Himalayan 😊
Eve has got my preference as well. Seems fitting. Yeah a change of handlebars and/or risers to get more ergonomics whilst standing will definitely help.
Also as you mentioned, keep getting at it and practice and you'll be more familiar each time you ride off road. Also the bbq place looked good! Cool spot for a bike night.
Jess and Jordan, Offroad Adventures ! Yay ! 😄
Good on you for recognizing perishable skills! Get that Himalayan out and practice but don't go alone. The advice about risers is well taken - you need to be comfortable and stable when standing up.
I had a UPS add break just before you spoke of the flooding in the trees. So while you were talking about the mud in in the trees, I had " what can btown do for you" stuck in my head..
Been riding two years, new to motovlogging. Love your vids. I upgraded from a Himalayan to a Harley Fat Bob. Dont think ill ever get the Himalayan back out ha ha.
EVE!!! I love that, it fits her so perfectly ❤
I like Eve - especially when you described her traits and how they relate to your bike.
Thanks jess great video
Definitely Eve! Love that!
I named mine Era
Another great video! Ironically, I'm more comfortable on the dirt than the street, since I learned how to ride a motorcycle on a dirtbike. I've only been riding on the street for about a month but I find myself still timid and unsure of my bike. Just need to practice more! I also love Eve for the name. Still don't know what to call my Rebel 500!
You should let us hear Jorden. I like hearing the banter.
Eve. 100%
Awesome videos!
Love Eve…absolutely love it…simple yet fitting…BOOM!!!
Yep I agree Eve😎
2 inch risers made a huge difference to standing up on my himmy. No cables needed changing so it’s a quick simple upgrade.
When y’all do cross that stream…I think that should be a video all on its own. It will be worthy of that distinction.
I myself would choose Eve 😊 come down around Augusta Ga, there are enough BAR-B-QUE places that you can spend a week and not get to all of them and you would have the chance to try BAR-B-QUE Hash and Rice 😊
Yep princess name, or based on legend of korra the next series her pet was named naga, which is a polar bear dog check it out.
The editor in me... you left a syllable out of "ethereal" @14:23. I never watched Avatar really but Eve works. Welcome Eve? Nice doggo in the sidecar.
You could try a larger front wheel but first I'd try more off road focused tyre, and standing off road is essential, bar risers or finding a way to be comfortable standing is a must.
My confidence really shifted once I took a training course (Brett Tkacs). Knobbies and riding at a comfortable speed is the best way to enjoy gravel roads. Keep trying to have fun!
Get handlebar risers to raise the bars for standing and rotate them forward a little bit.
I have the same feeling on my Himi. I'm with Team Eve
Eve is a great name for your it works well for the newness of character for your new beginning.
Bike night was a hit I think. Great hanging out with you all. Looking forward to the next one! 🍻
When talking about the name for the new bike your Geek was showing. LOL But since it is the newest bike to your collection I would call it Newby.
I named my white ninja Yuki, which either means snow or flower, depending on the Japanese spelling. I love Yue for your new bike.
I love practis my english on your videos. Pretty voice end very clear.😊😊😊😊😊
Are you taking the Himi on your adventure? ...Can't wait!
Yes, Eeeva! Also, Probably need to optimize your Himalayan tires more, and fix the Ergos, and yes, more practice. 🙃
It's all about seat time. Do a few braking drills to test your traction limits on various surfaces, too. That big water crossing? Get off your bike and walk into it. Sometimes you'll find they're more ridable than you thought. And sometimes, you'll find it would have been a REALLY bad idea to try riding that one!
As far as off road anxiety goes, I can relate. There's almost no dirt near me and I'm so rusty these days. I get nervous on the easy stuff. I need to fix my dirt bike and go rail some trails. That'll help.
I liked Wall•E. Eve sounds great. My great niece is named Eva (Evalyn actually) and she's awesome.
Was that lunch truck named Jordan RayRay's? 😉
Jess says "I don't wanna ride down any muddy roads" so what does Jess do? She rides down muddy roads all day!!!😂 Good job!👍👏🏻
I think Eve is perfecccct
Even though I'm not a fan of the movie, I definitely think Eve seems to suit your new bike better. You can certainly tell the difference in ride height with the new seat.
I think definitely Eva would be better name for your toad glide 😊
I'd name your bike spiritous. It's your spirit guide ✨️
Watching you both is like watching my husband and I.😊
Love that!
I look at seats for bikes like my own shoes. Have several, one for each occasion…
Have you ridden the DR650? The Himi is a modern take on a classic road bike chassis, while the DR is much more of an offroad bike. I think you may be more confident on a machine more specialized for the task. The DR also doubles as a great road bike.
Eve is a great name for the bike❤
You got this!!!
Go with Eve. Cause you have more tec on the new bike. And the camra looks great.
I do roads like that in alberta canada 🇨🇦 with my virago 500. But not with my electraglide. Yet.... 😂 might build a skid plate and put different tires on my virago because I can't afford to buy one of those bikes.
I still say Effie after Effie Hotchkiss who was the first woman to ride a motorcycle across the US, with her mother Avis in the sidecar. And she did it on a Harley.
Eve I think that suits her. Because she's always flying around
Eve fits go for it ❤
You mentioned Pan Am... best riding Bike I've ever had.. just curious, why a Himalayan? Haven't ran over an alligator yet down here in Florida, but I did see someone do it on a Motorcycle. on a paved road, it was ..like a WTF.. that was a gator he just rode over.. kind of funny..wasn't expecting that.. Eve is cool, makes sense with the correlation to the movie.. on the other hand, it reminds me of the Eve Cigarettes.. U could always do some viney flower girly graphics, along with the white Robot, in some cool sort of way.
Could go "Bruce" the shark from finding Nemo since the road glide has a shark nose. Kinda fits the animation theme and the bike.
I think Eve would be a great name for your motorcycle
Please more Bike night footage!
Where did you get tour pack for your Dyna?
Put some fish heads in your garden its the best for plants they will grow like crazy ^ 5
Would adding weight I.e. camping gear, etc. would help make the ride not so loose?
Eve is the right name!!
EVE!!!! Definitely Eve!!!
cool!
I think Eve is the best name for the new road glide.
Definetly Eve for the new ride. I agree it fits.
I’d go with Eve. It’s nice and simple.
Eve. Hands down Eve. The video isn’t even done yet and I had to comment lol.
Hi Jess , You need to remove the rubber on your foot pegs. They push right out.
No they don’t. They’re bolted on, and I literally say we removed them in this video 😂
When you asked for suggestions to name the new bike I first thought of Pearl (my maternal grandma) but then another TH-camr I follow named his white 2024 Road Glide Pearl so I thought Opal. But Eve (or Eva) would be good too and more in keeping with your theme of fictional characters. Have fun in the dirt and I'll see you next time.
That was a good video, Jess. There are several things I would like to address. First, I can't stand people who litter and dump trash on public land. It is my pet peeve. Secondly, what bike was Jordon riding? I couldn't make out what it was. Lastly, you should name your bike BeeBop. I'm a big Cowboy BeeBop fan. Have a wonderful weekend.
lets go Eve!
I like Eve!!! I loved the movie Wall-E
Eve-ahhhh!!
I agree, EVE !
You Tubes "Marc Travels" Electric bike is named "Eve".
Lee would be cool.....🥰
Eve sounds good
how do you find your trails? I am in OH and I just got a XR150L and looking for some random trails to explore without getting shot =/
Delorme Atlas and Gazette for Ohio may be a good source. (Warning, if I remember right it has a disclaimer that not all roads shown are open to the public.) Benchmark Atlas is great but they don't have one for Ohio. Google maps is handy because you can use satellite view (if there isn't a tree canopy covering the road). I don't think that Butter Maps will be of any help. Ohio does have some Natural Forest land if you are in the south east part of the state it might be worth investigating. The app "onX offroad" could be helpful. Talking to people at the motorcycle dealership could be helpful.
In short find interesting and fun unpaved roads locally does require doing research. Good luck.
@@erniecolussy1705 Very helpful! Thank you! And yes, I grew up where we would ride / drive on headlands and trails all the time, but being older I'm a bit more wary about going to random land.
Go with Eve. It fits. Now, which one of Jordan's bikes is Wall-e?
Eve for the win!
Oh wow youre coming to India?? Oh and it is definitely EVE for me
Eve sounds good. What did Jordan name his DR?
I think Eve🙌
I like Eve, great name for a white bike.
Getting a little sideways on dirt will help your blacktop riding immensely.
My daughter and I think Eve is a great name.
Practice on a small 125 trail bike around witches hats putting your foot down going around the corner some people use tyres in figure 8. Practice picking up the bike if you can put on a rug then drop it down carefully and pick it up.
BMW do a fantastic bunch of rider training course. I totally gone down the dirt side or adventure touring I have a new Triumph x400 scramble. All Harley and Other bikes been returned or sold. GF owns the BMW 310GS soon to be replaced by an new 310GS 😂
I like the name Eve!
Definitely Eve, the only problem is when Jordan names his next bike he will be stuck with Adam !!!!!!
Tetap safety riding
100% Eve!!!
Be safe
Those aren’t off-road to me, I’d ride my shovel head down that road. I rode my 75 XLCH in the deserts of Arizona in the mid 70s when there was no road. Sportster was for that stuff.
I haven't ever ridden a motorcycle of any kind and I have to say that riding off-road doesn't appeal to me - however - I have driven cars quite a lot and pedal cycles a bit and vans a little bit in all weathers. I wonder if feelings of instability on a bike off-road are to do with wanting that reassuring grip that you get on tarmac at all times, when sometimes what you need is floatation across a loose surface. Like how in a car, grip is super important, but sometimes on ice, you want to lightly traverse it and not have the tyres dig in? Like, sometimes, you'd want all the grip in the world on a bike (going uphill, scrambling over logs and such), but sometimes you want to almost skate across loose gravel so long as you're going in a straight line. I may well be talking total nonsense!
I have no experience at all and this isn't an attempt at advice - it's a thought/question really!
I’m a big Avatar fan but I vote for Eve. Though both are great options.
Vote for Eve! Great reference and choice!
Eve ❤❤
I vote Eve as well. And now I’m craving BBQ, lol.
