Well I know what theme park I won't be visiting any time soon 😅 This build is amazing, all of the details make it look so beautiful! But oh my god the story behind this place is insane 👀
Lol I hear ya Jax! So happy you enjoyed the build and all the mysteries behind it. I've come across a lot of abandoned and haunted theme parks all over the world in my research, but this one definitely had my attention! 🙂
Hi Townie! Sorry for being late to the party, I was away from TH-cam for 2 weeks. This build is amazing! I love everything about it from the entrance, to how you did the “slides” for the water park, the dinosaurs park is cute as well! It would be fun playing this as a spooky community lot and get sims to visit this place 😁 Thank you so much for the shoutout!
I didn’t expect to actually get the chills while watching! I was riveted. It wasn’t the haunting that gave me chills, but the rest of the story - the tragic accident and a grand creation gone to ruin and wondering how this may have affected the local economy. Many malls, hospitals, playgrounds are shut down and abandoned in the area where I live - it’s quite eerie to drive around a once thriving area. Can you imagine being a teenager living near Mimaland? It must be a rite of passage to dare explore!
I definitely understand that Daisy! I got a similar feeling when I was researching Mimaland’s backstory. It makes you wonder if the park could have still been in operation if things were handled differently.
Whew, I'm so very late to this but I LOVED hearing this story! It's funny how I've never heard of this park until this video 😂 I guess my parents didn't like talking about ghost stories haha! This build is also amazing, I loved all the buildings and landscaping of the lake, and the dinosaur park!! Adorable! Part of me wonders how Mimaland has impacted the building of theme parks in Malaysia. We have a lot of water parks (unsurprising because of our climate haha!) but I can only think of one other major theme park that's still standing today. Funnily enough, it's also in the hills and parts of it is also apparently haunted 👻
Haha so glad you enjoyed this Kaywireee! MatineeSims also was not familiar with this park; perhaps its story is getting lost to time? So happy you enjoyed the lore and the build; the dinosaur park was my favorite! 😊
I don't think I have visited this place, but the fact that this theme park was still in operation when I was a child is maddening! Furthermore it is really close to Kuala Lumpur. Yeap I am totally convinced that there may be spirits inhabiting the place where the theme park is. PS: I had another Malaysian theme park in mind that is erm "haunted" but that could be another video.
That is definitely cool and creepy! I'm glad I was able to cover this location given that I have fellow Malaysian Simmers like yourself! I'm definitely up for learning about new places as well.
Spooky! Really, the details and effort you put in your builds... 🤩 My favourite part was the waterslides area (although tragic). The landscaping was stunning too! 🌿 You should try something from South America :D
Thank you so much Scarlett, I’m really glad you enjoyed the build! We’ll be exploring Latin America next month if I have enough time to complete the build. 😊
That sounds like an awesome challenge Chelle! Maybe you can you use the four waterfront bungalows as rental units for your Sims. I'll let you know when the lot is available for download, I am currently doing some play testing at the moment.☺
Your build is so pretty, I can feel the SouthEast Asia vibe. But the story is so scary, it's crazy that they filmed a movie right in the haunted park 😂😂 Anyway today I just learned Pontianak is a ghost name in Malaysia. In Indonesia we called that ghost as Kuntilanak and we have a city called Pontianak. This video made me search the connection between the city and the ghost 😂😂
So glad you enjoyed the build and lore PinWin!🙂I totally agree, I'm really surprised the filming was able to be completed despite all the paranormal activity. I did see that the Pontianak had a few different names; my mom even told me of a very similar spirit in Vietnam who is sometimes known to kidnap young children (babies, infants) and bring them up with her in the treetops. Folklore can be so spooky but cool!
@@TownieSimBuilds wow the Vietnam one also similiar to Pontianak and Kuntilanak, all have stories about kidnaping kids and usually in a top of tree! It's nice to learn something new, great story telling, look forward for the next one 👍
@@PinWinDuck Yes, for sure! So many fascinating ghost stories all across Southeast Asia. Fun fact: we're heading to the island of Trinidad in our next lore! 🙂
Please excuse the pronunciations! I'm not very good with languages, but I do my best and try to find the best/most accurate ways to pronounce them (hence the warning at the beginning of the video). I hope you enjoyed the video nonetheless! 🙂

that pronunciation made me question my life
not to be rude, but it's pronounced: pon-ti-anak
you dont just connect all the words :D
