Hey Mark, I watch your videos daily and thank you for the great info. I am 60 and hope to relocate to Hua Hin by my 62nd birthday , I am moving from the u.s. because of the crime and the people becoming meaner here by the day not to mention the cost of living. I was a c.o. for 20 years and even sat in Florida's electric chair during training in 1994 which is how you might remember me when I bump into you around Hua Hin some day, that being said I never want a confrontation another day in my life which is another reason for the move. I love animals and snakes have always been an interest , I want to eat good healthy food and lots of fruit that didn't get rushed to a grocery store where the taste is still on the truck some place, Thai people are friendly and I will always be grateful for being allowed to enjoy their country, I will never be the bad visitor in any way and I am not moving to Thailand for bar girls or night life other than the night food market because I don't drink. I was recently awarded 100 percent P&T by the v.a. and I will probably take early social security so income won't be an issue. I will be getting a scooter so that I can get out and see the countryside and enjoy the culture in a new chapter for me. I'm waiting on a new knee right now and will be 61 in September so I am aiming for September 2025, take care Mark and thanks again for the good information.

I definitely think everyone should come here and check it out just to see if it is right for them... I can tell you this much I stayed in a couple of places before the TERMINAL and again I really didn't enjoy my time here until I got to this place..... That being said you really need a couple of weeks to check this place out... Gets a lot bigger than you think.... Cheers mate 🍻
If you mean my hotel hack definitely give it a try..... It has never failed once... You can even go on AGODA check the price first close everything out completely.... Go back into Google search the name of the hotel and it will come up cheaper every single time and when you hit the link it will take you to AGODA and give you the cheaper price..... Cheers mate 🍻

@@whyhellotherewithdrmarksabean the main point, like you pointed out or implied, is this being in a good walkable location to attractions. Having a room where there’s nothing to do wouldn’t make sense. I also tried your tip about FB market place with changing the location & searching for condos…worked great.
I found it a good walkable area but I also had a bike as well don't forget.... You can stay closer to the downtown action but I just found the hotels down there unless you were spending crazy amounts of money they just weren't very nice....

If I go to Florida to avoid Michigan snow, one night stay within walking distance to the ocean would be $349/night minimal…I’d bet, yet there, not necessarily this place, you get a whole month for one night in FL.

@@johnk-pc2zx & Mark. It was the best $11 usd per night hotel I ever stayed at (i never paid so little ever for a room). The greeting wasn't so welcoming, but i overlooked that quickly. Has 8 floors and they do 1month 12,500 thb rentals all included, 6 and 12 month contract rates start at $5100 thb & $5600 thb respectively. For 3-6 mo contracts elect & water not incl for long stays. The pool was the highlight for me, location was ok, not far from a few bars and street vendors. I used bolt to get around, as beach is not close nor the huge street market, if either is your thing. Hotel rents motorbikes if staying there any length of time, 300 per day, else bolt works well. If on a tight budget its perfect place. I had a tough time with the hard queen size bed (box spring w 1 inch foam pad) since arriving from US I had a back issue for weeks, didnt help. I like a comfortable desk chair for my computer work, the room had one plastic chair. AC worked well, good refrig, quiet area. I cant complain for the cost, it was fair and I will stay again. if you want more comfort than offered you'll pay more elsewhere, that simple.
Far from the centre of town,reception staff ill mannered,restaurant meals and staff lovely..room view on the top floor nice (mountains) room itself not the best though large enough, I cut my stay there short by 2 days even though Id paid for a week,I agree we get what we pay for:)

If you haven't stayed at the Yana Villas on Khao Takiab Beach, you need to. It's an amazing place to stay. It's right on the beach. The suites are large and I always choose the pool villas. It's not a place for cheap people, but it's also not so expensive that it will break the bank. My wife and I are staying here now ( August 2024) and the cost for 7 days was just over $1,100 USD. The breakfast buffet is out of this world. I think it's one of the best in Hua Hin. You can get less expensive rooms without a private pool if you want to, but you would be hard pressed to find a better place to stay for the money. We stay here at least twice a year. We absolutely love this place.
I certainly miss Phuket I will be honest with you.... It's nice here but I don't think this is the place for me which I will get to in a couple of other videos..... Cheers mate 🍻

I myself don't think I would want to do Hua Hin without a bike.... It's a little too big for me to be walking around.... I enjoyed this area because there were several bars close to the hotel and there was that Chang Night Market...... That to me was fantastic... It is further from the beach than what I would like but to be honest with you while I was there I didn't spend much time on the beach because the weather did not permit it.... Lol Cheers mate 🍻
I read the book and saw the Movie Leaving Las Vegas. I also read Bringing down the house' made into the movie 21. As well as Wiseguy made into the movie Goodfellas. I cant wait to read on the beach when I get there.
The hotel room you are bashing doesn't really appear to be depressing to me. The camera panning around around the bathroom was maybe showing a grotty window or something...I dont know, it looked like it had natural light a window seat....just didn't look heinous at 330 bht...the room didn't lose your phone, maybe it lost the key...
Hey Graham I certainly don't feel I'm bashing the room in this video I am talking about the feeling that it gives you....... what you didn't see was the outside of the place and this video really didn't focus in on all of the stuff that was wrong with this room.... Trust me when I tell you this it was the most depressing place I've ever been in my life... And I suffer from depression what does that tell you? See that's the trouble that I find when I'm making these videos..... I rave on about the Hia Hin Terminal, I talk about how great it is I show things about it I talk about the area I suggest people go to the markets etc etc..... But because I say one thing in a video that's all that gets commented....... What does that say?
No it's likely not the best place to stay, but for 400Baht it's a great deal and anybody just arriving here and getting to know the place,,,,, it's good...... Do you have a better recommendation?
So he s paying for a studio in Jomtien until the end of the month? But yet he s in Hua Hin paying 14$ a night ??? But then he s too cheap to go to Andamanda waterpark which cost 47$ U.S. in Phuket? When Im there Im gonna hit that park at least once a month. Largest lazy river in Asia. Another thing is most of your viewers will arrive during high season, so you should ALWayS say how much anything and everything costs during high season. Lol Some people like the water parks I'm not a big fan of them myself... I did enjoy Blue Tree lagoon a couple of times.... But it gets tiring pretty quick... HUA Hin was better because of you mate....
Nice hotel but a long way from the beach and the bar street area. I'd rather pay double that, stay in the centre where everything is easily walkable.

See that's the trouble that I find when I'm making these videos.....
I rave on about the Hia Hin Terminal, I talk about how great it is I show things about it I talk about the area I suggest people go to the markets etc etc.....
But because I say one thing in a video that's all that gets commented.......

So he s paying for a studio in Jomtien until the end of the month? But yet he s in Hua Hin paying 14$ a night ??? But then he s too cheap to go to Andamanda waterpark which cost 47$ U.S. in Phuket? When Im there Im gonna hit that park at least once a month. Largest lazy river in Asia. Another thing is most of your viewers will arrive during high season, so you should ALWayS say how much anything and everything costs during high season. Will this same place cost 400 baht in december??? Nobody cares how cheap these places are during low season. Anybody who has to be there during summer, I feel sorry for you. The heat is 🥵 going to be unpleasant enough during winter.

As for me,,,,, I've never once been to Jomtien in my life, I have been to every single waterpark and attraction in Phuket at least once if not twice.........

As for what the prices will be in December, I dont have a crystal ball.... But I can tell you this much if you go on Google like I tell people to do you can book this exact place in December for 445 BAHT a night......
Now obviously I ain't the smartest guy in the world and I don't know much but I know this much,,,, December is high season,,,,,,
Try it and see,,,prove me wrong if you can......
Now as to whether or not people care about the prices now,,,
And I can tell you there's much there are a lot of people traveling here right now that definitely care about the prices....

Yes I still have the pink condo in Phuket......
Not really a condo it's more like a room.....
But yes I kept it because I was continuing my cost of living videos.....
Regardless even when I'm in my much more expensive condo I still maintain it every single month even when I'm out traveling.....
Just the same as my condo that I fully own in Shanghai I do not rent it out when I'm away I keep it so that when I go back I have a home to go to.....

I did enjoy Blue Tree lagoon a couple of times....
