for those who did not get the helmet after killing all 13 mimics, DON'T GIVE UP HOPE !!! Same thing happened to me and I double check every locations TWICE, when I almost decided to accept my fate and give up I went back to where the Sunlight straight sword is for one last time, and you know what, the helmet was there waiting for me, and I swear I been there and even reload the game before. My theory is the helmet will spawn at a very low rate at each location after you kill all the mimics, so just keep going back to the Dragonslayer Amour bonfire and make that run, you'll eventually find it on the floor waiting for you.

So your theory seems valid to me. Except that it also spawned at sunlight straight sword mimic, so I am not sure if it works on every mimic. And I picked it up immediately so I am not sure if it despawns after resting at the bonfire, probably I guess.

A side note, the sunlight sword mimic was NOT that last mimic I killed and it still showed up there, after spawning back at armor several times and making the run. Quiting and reloading did nothing. I killed all 13 Mimics and did not get the Symbol of Avarice helmet. So I was like, cool... I saved everything onto a usb drive before I killed the last Mimic so I'll just keep reloading... nothing. Balls... well, I'll keep going to the Firelink Shrine and back to the Abandoned Tomb which was my last Mimic kill.... haha, still nothing. So at this point I was like, ef it... I'm going to farm for Human Dregs at Pontiff Sulyvahn. Went up the hidden elevator and I was like, meh... I'll check the Mimic location while I'm up here.... Sweet... Captain.... Christ... there it is! It was my 6th Mimic kill and I checked this location multiple times and was just randomly there. So apparently for me on the PS4 once you kill all 13 Mimics it will randomly show up at any Mimic kill location.... balls, haha!
Update everyone there is actually 14 mimics total now the final one is in the ringed city so if you didn't get the soul of avarice you have to kill the 14th one to receive it
I got mine, first try, after deciding to go to the catacombs of carthus and putting the mimic to sleep, i was super surprised by how it was on my first try
So if it helps anyone, I actually killed all 13 and went to the last one I killed and it did not drop after restarting the game. However, I restarted the game at all the mimic locations and for me it ended up NOT being the last one I killed. Mine was in the dragon barracks location. So restart your game at every mimic and see if you get it then! I actually read this EXACT scenario on another video and tried it and thats how I got mine. Same location and everything. Maybe when you kill the 13th one in that location it bugs to another location.
A HUGE TIP for anyone still trying to get in 2021, the order in which you kill the mimics does not matter. Just go to the dragonslayer mimic and quit the game and log back on. It was there for me after only two attempts ! Don't bother going back to the bonfire its much faster relogging onto the game.
I know I'm ages late, but there's a 14th mimic in the Ringed City in the Shared Grave Tower between Midir's Bridge locations. Really easy to farm since it's just 3 skeletons between you and the mimic. :)
Hey bro, everyone thinks its a guaranteed last mimic drop but the guide doesnt say anything about it. Is farming the only way cause if so Ill have to buy that dlc to get it
@@doomertube7050 It can drop from any mimic. I've even grabbed the Talismans/Hunter Charms from the room under the 2nd man of pus (after the 2nd bonfire and to the left of the Lothric Spear Knight) and used them on the mimic under the dragon and gotten the Symbol of Avarice.
I've yet to play this game but I just want to say thank you. Your guides are so well laid-out and in-depth that it makes finding stuff so easy. You'll definitely be making my achievement hunting easier when it comes around to it and I feel that you don't get as much credit as you deserve. So again, thank you.
So i did not used any charm at all, KILLED the 13 and the last one from the Dragonslayer armur bonfire droped nothing, reload there a couple of times and still nothing, went back to visit the locations of other mimics and i found It in the mimic from the Dragon Barracks bonfire. Good luck anyone!
throwing undead unter charm at it, so it sleeps if you wait for it to wake up and throw another and repeat it is a very easy way to get the symbol. just make sure you pack some charms
Incredible walk through amazing work here from xbox finished all 13 couldn't find the helmet and kept restarting reloading and traveling no luck so I went offline restarted the game and went to the 13th location at dragon armour and it was there first load 👌🏻
Is it me, or does the idea of a enemy that's disused as a chest seem really cool? In terraria they appear, in dark souls they appear, they also do in bloodborne.

I can confirm 100 percent that this does indeed drop after all 13 mimics are killed. However for myself it did not drop on the reload from the last spot or last mimic killed. It dropped above pontif sulvan in the shape of an orb
If you still haven't gotten the Symbol of Avarice. Do not give up. I've actually attempted quitting the game and getting back on numerous times on a mimic spawn and even going back and using homeward bone. The last mimic for me I've killed was the very first one in the game. (High wall of Lothric) Relogging at that location did not give me the headpiece. And it made me very confused but that's why never giving up is important in this case. I double checked every single mimic after restarting the game and none of them have had it appeared. The last thing I did was go to the final mimic spawn. (Dragonslayer armour bonfire) And after quitting the game there and logging back in it gave me the headpiece first try. Don't give up! But for some reason the last mimic spawn gave me the headpiece. I really don't know why since it wasn't the last mimic I've killed but yeah. TL;DR Last mimic you've killed isn't where it might spawn, Atleast not for me. Try dragon slayer bonfire mimic. Quitting the game and relogging of course. Worked first try! Works December 10, 2017

IMPORTANT - SYMBOL OF AVARICE Once you have found every mimic and still you don't have the symbol of avarice, you must only go on the last mimic location for the second time and the game will spawn the symbol of avarice right there. :)
Juicy Chad Okay, I tried this again, and it finally worked. I went back to the location of the last mimic I killed (which happens to be the last in the game, near the Dragonslayer Armour bonfire), and nothing was here. I reloaded the area (went to Firelink Shrine and back to Dragonslayer Armour bonfire), and still nothing, BUT, at my fourth try, the Symbol of Avarice was indeed there, waiting for me to pick it up. So my advice: try, again, again and again, until it works. It definitely will, but you have to be patient. If it doesn't work, send me a friend request (if you're on PS4, my PSN ID is Fethennour), I'll drop it for you and you'll just have to pick it up on the ground.

Watching this in hopes of finding a mimic chest I haven't killed yet. I want that hat for soul farming, but I think I killed them all already. I might have to wait until I can start a new game just to get it.
For those of you that killed all the mimics and didnt get a hat, it means you didnt use any undead hunter charms, when you throw one, it puts the mimic to sleep, all you have to do, is throw a charm, pick up the item, punch it with your bare fist to reset it, throw another charm, rinse and repeat till you get the hat. and for those of you that are complaining about the hat not being at the last mimic location you killed a mimic at, it means you have already killed the last mimic, and died before you went back, meaning the item will no longer be there, or you havent killed all the mimics yet, and if the helmet doesnt drop from the last mimic you kill, and you are certain its the last one, reload the game, and it should be there, if it isnt, then its a bug.
got mine at dragon barracks at 13 min of this video. Threw a charm and got titanite. Let it close back up and then threw another charm and got the symbol of avarice. Some I killed along the way and some I didn't. So check out dragon barracks. Some didn't give me anything when I threw a second charm but this one did.
I’ve checked each mimic for the third time, and none of them have dropped the item. I haven’t played the DLC, but I read there’s one there, so I’m going to try using the item that triggers the drop without killing it, along with coins to boost discovery, the ring, and the weapon that increases discovery. I’m finishing my platinum run, and all I have left is farming the covenants… Guess I’ll tackle the DLCs now. :'c
For anyone looking at this in 2023, in my opinion the best farming spot in early/mid-game for this is the third one, you have two bonfires really close and the only enemies are skeletons (if you go from the one below) overrall really good spot
So I didn't find the symbol of avarice when I killed the last mimic. Bug is still active. I did what everyone here was saying, go to the latest mimic killed and it should drop; it didn't. BUT thank god I didn't give up, after relogging at dragon barracks/dragonslayer armour 15 times to no avail, I decided to walk through all 13 locations again, and I found it sitting there at the 3rd location at High Lord Wolnir bonfire! So what does this prove? Unfortunately it's a completely random drop at one of 13 locations if you're experiencing the bug. I wanna say we could possibly narrow it down to checking whichever ones you had killed in the same session you killed the 13th one? Stay patient lol I guess thats really the best advice
Killed all 13, didn't get the helmet, came back to their location, reloged, and still didn't get the helmet, yall that got it are lucky ones. Also, only got to know about this helmet AFTER I killed them all, so I'll farm the next mimics in the dlc/Ng+
Might be worth info: I did all mimic in wrong order and didn't get shit, then i went to 13th mimic and there was the avarice hat where the mimic once stood

So far, i have found more mimics then actually chests.. i really hate these things, especially when yberes two inside of an already heavily guarded room thats nearly impossible to clear even with aoe attacks.
You need to exit the game, and start again, go to the final mimic in lothric castle, and the symbol will be there, i spend two hours searching the symbol and reloading the save, but i need to exit and star the game again.
Guys im not sure about this but the way i got this helmet is i used undead hunter charm at the last mimic and then i didnt get it then i tried again at the last mimic still nothing then i tried third time my internet connection went off then logged again and went to bonfire and went back to the mimic and i used the charm and i got it maybe it will work for you guys

I play Xbox one. I killed all 13 and did not get helm I checked all spots after reloading 2 times and no luck. I'm sick of looking for it if anyone has a spare symbol I will gladly put it to use.
I will try to help anyone that tries to get the helmet after 4 years lol. Anyways. The way i got mine was to spam one chest with the undead hunter charm each time it returns to sleep, so I went to the one near dragonslayer armor and used the charm, waited for him to go back to sleep then used the charm on him again. I repeated this method and i got it on my forth charm used. if you did not get it by using all 5 charms, go back to the bonfire and restock and go again. This worked for and I hope it works for everyone. Good luck g
I am on my THIRD play through now and still can not find the mimic helmet. I have tried leaving one mimic alive and farming it with charms and gold coins with no luck there and I have gone back to each mimic location to check for it and even reloaded each area with a mimic twice trying to get it to spawn after I killed them all to no avail.. I am out of ideas of what to do next I’m about to start my fourth play through to see if I can get one this time around but not holding my breath for it haha! Any advice would be greatly appreciated I am playing on Xbox one of that makes any difference. Someone please help!!!
Another tip if anyone is still watching these after so long Wear the gold serpent ring, and kill the mimics with pestilent mist, it doesn't aggro them, right before they die use a rusted coin, theres a chance theyll drop the symbol of averice when they die, i got it!
so i killed all 13 and havrnt got i try going to all 13 places and still didnt get. i did as you guys said. go to the 13 mimic and reload and it didnt work. so instead of reloading it when i was at the menu i decide to click continue instead and what do you know ... yes i the mimic appear. i believe is continue not load game.
Didn't matter that I didn't kill them all "in order". Just made sure to kill all 13. -> no helmet. -> went to Dragon Barracks bonfire. -> logged out (quit game) -> logged back in (loaded character) -> ran to where mimic would be -> avarice helmet!
closing the game with PS button doesnt help. you really need to go to settings and quit game. then log back in and the item will be there. i never bothered trying cause i knew i turned of my game already many times at least i got it now hehe
I killed all 13 mimics and still did not get the symbol of avarice. But then when I reload the game and returned to the 13th mimic that I just murdered, the symbol of avarice just appeared on the ground.
I checked every mimic spawn and mine were all dead. No symbol of avarice in sight. What the hell did I do on this old save file? Either way, a quality guide thank you for making it easy to check. Edit: Saw a trick on a different video where you just repeatedly reloaded the game at the dragonslayer armor mimic and in less than ten attempts the symbol spawned for me.

So latest version on ps4. I had the same problem and confirm the following worked for me: I killed all the 13 mimics even the last one at dragonarmour bonfire (I believed) then I checked every location so far and found one mimic I missed in Irithyll but still no Avarice. I doubled checked every spot after that. No Avarice. I went to the last mimic kill I made and reloaded (quit/continue). No Avarice. I did this like 5-10 times. Then I used homeward bone to Firelink Shrine, went from there back to the Dragonarmour bonfire and went to the 13th mimic here. No Avarice. I quit n continue once and it appeared. Bottom line: I was in embered state! I read in multiple posts that you have to embered, not sure whether that is true or not but it didnt spawn before. Might be a coincidence though.
I feel bad for you guys I killed about 4 mimics before checking out this video. so I went to high lothric like the video told me to and then first tower I go to with the mimic who holds the deep axe when you kill him,I killed him got the axe,but then I also got the avarice helmet
btw guys a simple trick to getting symbol of avarice is to first throw a hunters charm at it , get the item , then kill the mimic , thats how it dropped the item for me

ok idk if this is just a coincidence but if you killed all the mimics and have not got the drop yet then try and remember where it was you killed the last mimic. go there and if it is not there then reload the game. It was at the dragon barracks for me. I tried using the dragonslayer armour and reloaded about 10 times to no avail. @ the barracks location I only reset once and it was there. good luck!
Sht i had this stupid things i think i got the symbol of avarice at the highlord wolnir mimics but the mimics when i killed it is dead midair so i didn't take it until now
I got mine from the two chest near of yhorm bonfire.the trick is very simple. I equip the crystal sage rapier and the shield of want. I kill all the enemy near it left the two mimic. I spine a rusted coin and used a hunter charm to sleep them. I can tell you that I had done that over 20 times until I got it.it work 100% but drop rate very low I can assure you that it will drop on that location, no need to kill 13 Micmic and travel over the entire map. One note tho, if you did not get the symbol just quit and reload your game you’re still going to stay in the same location repeat over and over again until you get what you want.its normal that the micmic drop you nothing, it doesn’t mean that you won’t get any thing. Buy a lot of hunter charm and rusted coin.

pro tip: use pestilent mist or poison mist on the mimics. it won't wake them up but it'll eat away their health

throwing undead unter charm at it, so it sleeps if you wait for it to wake up and throw another and repeat it is a very easy way to get the symbol. just make sure you pack some charms

Incredible walk through amazing work here from xbox finished all 13 couldn't find the helmet and kept restarting reloading and traveling no luck so I went offline restarted the game and went to the 13th location at dragon armour and it was there first load 👌🏻

Is it me, or does the idea of a enemy that's disused as a chest seem really cool? In terraria they appear, in dark souls they appear, they also do in bloodborne.

It is guaranteed 100% I didn't get it until I killed all 13 mimics and went back to #13 spot, pick it up from there. You may miss one more.

I can confirm 100 percent that this does indeed drop after all 13 mimics are killed. However for myself it did not drop on the reload from the last spot or last mimic killed. It dropped above pontif sulvan in the shape of an orb

If you still haven't gotten the Symbol of Avarice. Do not give up. I've actually attempted quitting the game and getting back on numerous times on a mimic spawn and even going back and using homeward bone. The last mimic for me I've killed was the very first one in the game. (High wall of Lothric) Relogging at that location did not give me the headpiece. And it made me very confused but that's why never giving up is important in this case. I double checked every single mimic after restarting the game and none of them have had it appeared. The last thing I did was go to the final mimic spawn. (Dragonslayer armour bonfire) And after quitting the game there and logging back in it gave me the headpiece first try. Don't give up! But for some reason the last mimic spawn gave me the headpiece. I really don't know why since it wasn't the last mimic I've killed but yeah.
TL;DR
Last mimic you've killed isn't where it might spawn, Atleast not for me. Try dragon slayer bonfire mimic. Quitting the game and relogging of course. Worked first try!

If you didn’t get the symbol of avarice just keep respawning and going to the place of the last mimic you killed
IMPORTANT - SYMBOL OF AVARICE
Once you have found every mimic and still you don't have the symbol of avarice, you must only go on the last mimic location for the second time and the game will spawn the symbol of avarice right there. :)

Juicy Chad Okay, I tried this again, and it finally worked. I went back to the location of the last mimic I killed (which happens to be the last in the game, near the Dragonslayer Armour bonfire), and nothing was here. I reloaded the area (went to Firelink Shrine and back to Dragonslayer Armour bonfire), and still nothing, BUT, at my fourth try, the Symbol of Avarice was indeed there, waiting for me to pick it up.
So my advice: try, again, again and again, until it works. It definitely will, but you have to be patient.
If it doesn't work, send me a friend request (if you're on PS4, my PSN ID is Fethennour), I'll drop it for you and you'll just have to pick it up on the ground.

Watching this in hopes of finding a mimic chest I haven't killed yet. I want that hat for soul farming, but I think I killed them all already. I might have to wait until I can start a new game just to get it.

For those of you that killed all the mimics and didnt get a hat, it means you didnt use any undead hunter charms, when you throw one, it puts the mimic to sleep, all you have to do, is throw a charm, pick up the item, punch it with your bare fist to reset it, throw another charm, rinse and repeat till you get the hat.
and for those of you that are complaining about the hat not being at the last mimic location you killed a mimic at, it means you have already killed the last mimic, and died before you went back, meaning the item will no longer be there, or you havent killed all the mimics yet, and if the helmet doesnt drop from the last mimic you kill, and you are certain its the last one, reload the game, and it should be there, if it isnt, then its a bug.

got mine at dragon barracks at 13 min of this video. Threw a charm and got titanite. Let it close back up and then threw another charm and got the symbol of avarice. Some I killed along the way and some I didn't. So check out dragon barracks. Some didn't give me anything when I threw a second charm but this one did.
I checked every Location 2 times, but no helmet. Can someone explain me why there is no helmet, i killed EVERY mimic

I’ve checked each mimic for the third time, and none of them have dropped the item. I haven’t played the DLC, but I read there’s one there, so I’m going to try using the item that triggers the drop without killing it, along with coins to boost discovery, the ring, and the weapon that increases discovery. I’m finishing my platinum run, and all I have left is farming the covenants… Guess I’ll tackle the DLCs now. :'c

For anyone looking at this in 2023, in my opinion the best farming spot in early/mid-game for this is the third one, you have two bonfires really close and the only enemies are skeletons (if you go from the one below) overrall really good spot

So I didn't find the symbol of avarice when I killed the last mimic. Bug is still active. I did what everyone here was saying, go to the latest mimic killed and it should drop; it didn't. BUT thank god I didn't give up, after relogging at dragon barracks/dragonslayer armour 15 times to no avail, I decided to walk through all 13 locations again, and I found it sitting there at the 3rd location at High Lord Wolnir bonfire! So what does this prove? Unfortunately it's a completely random drop at one of 13 locations if you're experiencing the bug. I wanna say we could possibly narrow it down to checking whichever ones you had killed in the same session you killed the 13th one? Stay patient lol I guess thats really the best advice

Even in 2024 i can absolutely confirm that going to each mimic location and reloading will make it spawn, for me it was at the Dragonslayer Armour one
So far, i have found more mimics then actually chests.. i really hate these things, especially when yberes two inside of an already heavily guarded room thats nearly impossible to clear even with aoe attacks.
You need to exit the game, and start again, go to the final mimic in lothric castle, and the symbol will be there, i spend two hours searching the symbol and reloading the save, but i need to exit and star the game again.
Guys im not sure about this but the way i got this helmet is i used undead hunter charm at the last mimic and then i didnt get it then i tried again at the last mimic still nothing then i tried third time my internet connection went off then logged again and went to bonfire and went back to the mimic and i used the charm and i got it maybe it will work for you guys
After trying to farm the symbol elsewhere, I went back to the first mimic on the high wall and the symbol and the axe were just sitting there!

I play Xbox one. I killed all 13 and did not get helm I checked all spots after reloading 2 times and no luck. I'm sick of looking for it if anyone has a spare symbol I will gladly put it to use.
You don't need to keep relog , just punch the mimic before it's finished, your welcome 😁
I will try to help anyone that tries to get the helmet after 4 years lol. Anyways. The way i got mine was to spam one chest with the undead hunter charm each time it returns to sleep, so I went to the one near dragonslayer armor and used the charm, waited for him to go back to sleep then used the charm on him again. I repeated this method and i got it on my forth charm used. if you did not get it by using all 5 charms, go back to the bonfire and restock and go again. This worked for and I hope it works for everyone. Good luck g
I am on my THIRD play through now and still can not find the mimic helmet. I have tried leaving one mimic alive and farming it with charms and gold coins with no luck there and I have gone back to each mimic location to check for it and even reloaded each area with a mimic twice trying to get it to spawn after I killed them all to no avail.. I am out of ideas of what to do next I’m about to start my fourth play through to see if I can get one this time around but not holding my breath for it haha! Any advice would be greatly appreciated I am playing on Xbox one of that makes any difference. Someone please help!!!
Another tip if anyone is still watching these after so long
Wear the gold serpent ring, and kill the mimics with pestilent mist, it doesn't aggro them, right before they die use a rusted coin, theres a chance theyll drop the symbol of averice when they die, i got it!

so i killed all 13 and havrnt got i try going to all 13 places and still didnt get. i did as you guys said. go to the 13 mimic and reload and it didnt work. so instead of reloading it when i was at the menu i decide to click continue instead and what do you know ... yes i the mimic appear. i believe is continue not load game.
Didn't matter that I didn't kill them all "in order". Just made sure to kill all 13. -> no helmet. -> went to Dragon Barracks bonfire. -> logged out (quit game) -> logged back in (loaded character) -> ran to where mimic would be -> avarice helmet!
They are all dead. Damn it, just checked all spots.. again. It won't show up.
closing the game with PS button doesnt help. you really need to go to settings and quit game. then log back in and the item will be there. i never bothered trying cause i knew i turned of my game already many times at least i got it now hehe

I checked every mimic spawn and mine were all dead. No symbol of avarice in sight. What the hell did I do on this old save file? Either way, a quality guide thank you for making it easy to check.
Edit: Saw a trick on a different video where you just repeatedly reloaded the game at the dragonslayer armor mimic and in less than ten attempts the symbol spawned for me.

Didn't Get Symbol Of Avrice But I Did Get Estus Shard
Does anyone have a spare mimic head they could give me? I have tried every method(as in literally everything) under the sun multiple times to get it to spawn but it will not appear.
So latest version on ps4. I had the same problem and confirm the following worked for me: I killed all the 13 mimics even the last one at dragonarmour bonfire (I believed) then I checked every location so far and found one mimic I missed in Irithyll but still no Avarice. I doubled checked every spot after that. No Avarice. I went to the last mimic kill I made and reloaded (quit/continue). No Avarice. I did this like 5-10 times. Then I used homeward bone to Firelink Shrine, went from there back to the Dragonarmour bonfire and went to the 13th mimic here. No Avarice. I quit n continue once and it appeared.
Bottom line: I was in embered state! I read in multiple posts that you have to embered, not sure whether that is true or not but it didnt spawn before. Might be a coincidence though.
I feel bad for you guys I killed about 4 mimics before checking out this video. so I went to high lothric like the video told me to and then first tower I go to with the mimic who holds the deep axe when you kill him,I killed him got the axe,but then I also got the avarice helmet
There is was to little mimics in this game, I wanna see a mimic count in the 30s
If the chain is facing you then it's a mimic. Otherwise it's not.
btw guys a simple trick to getting symbol of avarice is to first throw a hunters charm at it , get the item , then kill the mimic , thats how it dropped the item for me

ok idk if this is just a coincidence but if you killed all the mimics and have not got the drop yet then try and remember where it was you killed the last mimic. go there and if it is not there then reload the game. It was at the dragon barracks for me. I tried using the dragonslayer armour and reloaded about 10 times to no avail. @ the barracks location I only reset once and it was there. good luck!

so the deep braile divine tome the mimic fell through the floor and it died will i be able to get the item or am i just boned
I got mine from the two chest near of yhorm bonfire.the trick is very simple. I equip the crystal sage rapier and the shield of want. I kill all the enemy near it left the two mimic. I spine a rusted coin and used a hunter charm to sleep them. I can tell you that I had done that over 20 times until I got it.it work 100% but drop rate very low I can assure you that it will drop on that location, no need to kill 13 Micmic and travel over the entire map. One note tho, if you did not get the symbol just quit and reload your game you’re still going to stay in the same location repeat over and over again until you get what you want.its normal that the micmic drop you nothing, it doesn’t mean that you won’t get any thing. Buy a lot of hunter charm and rusted coin.
