Most Puerto Ricans know and love these corollas. We will take this over just about any other classic out there.
Especially with a 12A! Lol
Was going to comment that 🇵🇷💯
Yal love them 70s early 80s 1.8 wagons lowered wit a ski rack up top also where I’m from
And the Mexicans n guatamalans where I live all ride Hondas/accurate n join car clubs at the beaches..
Weepa n you know it
Was expecting a lil BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAP when he turned it on but was suprised how quiet it was. Clean build 👌🏾
Yes its very unassuming.
Not bridge ported, and turbo. Very quiet.
In Puerto Rico This Guy Would Be Loved In The Car Community.
Love from PR 🇵🇷
Caribbean brothers ✊🏾💪🏽
Big ups to all the Puerto Ricans 🇵🇷 that set the trend. One love bro.
Agree. This car is, was and always will be huge..HUGE in Puerto Rico and to P ricans in the U.S. Loved by Boricuas everywhere.
My Dad had a '76 TE51 SR5 Liftback. This car is flawless. The rotary engine makes it so distinctive. What a smooth-running beauty! Toyota should have put Mazda rotoaries in their cars from the start! Aloha!
Wow. It's so amazing how many memories that this car brings back
Growing up i loved these...
1986..taught myself to drive a stick shift in a Corolla that I bought from my step bro for $30..put $5 in gas, rode up n down main Ave in midwinter when tourists were gone teaching myself..floors rusted thru in back..bro had pizza pans laid down for floor..few months later I junked that car for $35 so didn't lose a thing and learned to drive a stick..👍😉😊
Wow, that's a fascinating story. Much respect to you for teaching yourself.
My dad had a '79 Corolla like this. I love it, great build.
Thanks for tge complement
I didn't see this coming but Jamaican car reviews are my new favourite thing on TH-cam
Thanks man, 😄 well hold on its only going to get better. let me know if you have any suggestions.
@@rootsmotorsports6984 if you could find a nice land cruiser, I'd love that 🙂
I am sure I will eventually.
That is a super clean Corolla! Regardless of what engine you have in there, someone took very good care of it. A long time ago - probably about 30 years ago now - I had a 1971 Toyota Corolla with a 2TC 1588cc engine. I put a LOT of time, money and effort into it over the course of several years, especially in the engine. It was not turbocharged but it had .080" over Cosworth 10.5:1 pistons, oversized intake and exhaust valves, triple valve springs, ported and polished head, dual Mikuni side-draft carbs, header, lightweight flywheel. It made just under 300hp on high octane fuel. It was definitely a sleeper because the body was not in great shape and it essentially looked stock, but it would run like a bat out of hell. Top speed was just over 65 mph though because of the 4 speed manual and the rearend gear ratio. My next mod was going to be a 5 speed and maybe a slightly better gear ratio, but my mom begged me to sell the car because she was afraid I'd kill myself in it.
Wow, good memories. I will be post my starlet with the 1.8 motor eventually.
Beautiful , so clean🇵🇷
I had the same car in '78. Really fun car to drive. Mine was totally stock except for grippier tires. And premium gas. Ran nice in corners. Miss it
Wow, I really love to hear those stories from when these cars were new.
Love these old Corollas
that is the cleanest Toyota I've ever seen and with that setup he has that's got to be a total blast to drive and hard as hell to catch. great video of a great car!
Your are correct about everything you said however he just like to cruise around no more racing. Thanks for the compliment.
I drove a 76 corolla in high school in the early 80's. I'm from the VI too. Would've loved to put that engine in it. I love this ride my boy. VI for life.
Big up the VI crew.
Unbelievable car! Love the videos so pure and humble 💪🏻
Thanks.
Beautiful car with tastefully done mods. Love the drivetrain. Looks like a good daily driver, too.....
You are right, it drives really nice not over powered just a nice setup overall
Nice clean ride bro! This video brings back lots of good memories. As a kid my dad had 2 of these late 70s Corolla wagons as company vehicles. A few years later my first car was an 1982 Corolla sedan. A few years further along (late 80s/early 90s) I also bought one of those little Kenwood KGC-4042A 7-Band EQs together with a Sony Cassette Pullout deck, a HiFonics Pluto 2 Channel amp for my custom built 2x10" MTX isobaric sub box, an LA Sound Redondo 4 channel amp for my Sony 6x9s and Altec Lansing tweeters. Budget build but bought with my own money so life was good! LOL
Hopefully I can continue to bring back these types of memories for more people with my content here on the channel. Thanks for sharing.
The beautiful K70
Nice setup. I had an original 12A turbo myself. This is beautifully done
Thanks dude, maybe it's time for you to get another one.😁
This car is a gem brings back some of my childhood memories.
Very clean classic, I had a wagon I loved
Beautiful build. When I first heard it whizzing by, it sounded like a rotary but I thought, nah.....Once you've heard one, you don't forget. That Raul is a master craftsman.
Thanks man I will pass on the compliment to Raul.

I know what you mean about having a list of cars you'd like to own. I have too. I don't think he would sell it mainly because of the sentimental value.
