Thank you for sharing. After three W124 2.0A some 20 years ago. This week (May 2024) taking on a 1989 W124 260E. This just qualifies as a Classic Car in Singapore. (I bought it in Malaysia). Much appreciate all insights! Nigel - 1989 MERCEDES-BENZ 260 E (124.026)
I guess you would have to love Mercedes to invest in a vehicle that isn't likely to appreciate much. I also like Mercedes Benz and own one, the parts and labour prices are excessive and hard to get in most cases. I've decided that the technology is way too complicated and troublesome with what seems to be plagued with constant failure of sensors. Meanwhile my C3 Corvette and various early Holden's are appreciating every year and reasonably easy to find parts for, and no technology to contend with. Makes them so simple to rebuild and maintain myself a breakdown in remote Australia is fixed on the side of the track with a screw driver and a few spanners. The Benz is nice to drive, but l leave it in the garage more and drive the others more because their more fun

Good detective work 😀
Loving this series, thanks Simon.
Excellent progress. The fuel tank looks much easier to swap over vs the SL55 ordeal you went through.
OMG I had forgotten that horror!
This makes me want to buy a 124.. great content Simon!

I love that the license plate starts with "EV". So, does that qualify as having an EV for all the woke idiots out there?
