Some of y'all are saying "glad this isn't canon" as if it was ment to be in the first place. Like, guys, it's a lego game.
I know right? XD Everyone's complaining about how certain elements don't make sense, or how "The characterisation is off" or how something else is incorrect to the main games. Guys, this was made by LEGO. It's not gonna be canon, and things will be off due to a different company making the game. They're obviously not gonna know 100% of the lore, and this was made for *kids* to play, not die-hard fans of the original games. So just move on, and be glad we got anything Portal related in game form.

This is one of the best love letters to Portal I’ve ever seen. They reunited the cast, invented some great dialogue and actually gave it the feel of an adventure someone would make up while playing with legos.
Only bad thing I have to say is- wouldn't Wheatley be seen as a traitor in Chell's eyes? He did try to kill her and is known for making bad decisions.

Y'know, when you think about it, there doesn't really need to be a Portal 3. I mean, The story's done. Chell made it out of Aperture safe, Wheatley's in space, and GLaDOS is placated. She doesn't pose any threat to Chell or the outside world, so there's no real reason for another game. At least not one with Chell as the main character.
InoMercy I think it'll be great if chell isn't the main character, and an astronaut rescues Wheatley and the Space core. The astronaut has nothing to do with Aperture, but something happens and unfortunately they go there. The astronaut looks for survivors and that's why they go to Aperture.

I mean, the game does take place across the multiverse, and the Perpetual Testing Initiative DLC establishes that at least one parallel universe Cave Johnson managed to upload himself into the GLaDOS mainframe
This entire map pack is a parody of Portal! It’s downplaying the story, the gameplay... I mean, wouldn’t Glados actively try to destroy Wheatley, after he returned from space? Also, the puzzle mechanics of the original were way more complex than whatever this is. In the original, the portals were a piece of the solution, not just a stepping stone! You could guide lasers through them, carry cubes... not in this game. I blame LEGO’s bad game design.
I love that hidden secret power you get in Portal 2 where Chell can summon Wonder Woman and Gandalf, it’s a really unexpected feature.

Missed opportunity to create the airboats. Still a nice idea, though.
Also near the end, she can apparently shoot portals without the need of portal surfaces.
Probably my favourite part of this level pack is Chell finally showing personality in the cutscenes.

It makes me so happy seeing Chell be so much more expressive in this. There’s a bunch of other stuff that makes me really happy to like Wheatley returning, seeing other characters from different media in portal, and just a bunch of other stuff really.

It's absolutely his fault. He was a corrupted, greedy moron from the start. If GLaDOS after portal 2 found you in the facility she'd give you a ride back to the surface. She had no more living beings to harm by testing, she just wanted to test. And test until the end of time in the underground facility. But for some stupid reason the LEGO creators decided that Chell that always just wanted freedom for some idiotic reason decided to come back and kill GLaDOS.

I like the fact old aperture looks more like an old lego game where most of the walls and non-useable things aren't legos, while the normal aperture looks like it's made of legos.

Portal 2 made it pretty clear that being plugged into the facilities control system heavily altered cores personalities for the worst, and being unplugged at least undid that to some extent.
@@SnowmanTF2 plugging them only makes them really wanna test, so not for the worst, and cores are being corrupted because they were plugged to GLaDOS
When GlaDOS lists the possible side effects of the excursion funnels she should have listed flight as a reference to the cfg (crouch fly glitch) in portal 2 where if you crouch at the end of and excursion funnel you gain the ability to fly and it only ends when you stop crouching

Come to think of it, I guess Portal does really work in the design of the Lego games. Big room puzzles where the goal is to get to the next area, interesting and gimmicky mechanics that are sometimes used in different combinations depending on the room, and overall goofyness for the icing on top.

At times the writing felt on par with the original, though it definitely fell off pretty often but damn was this fun to discover. I’ve been on a bit of a portal binge as of late and it was a real pleasant surprise to see a lego game for portal. It was the last thing I expected lmao

For people saying chell is a bad person in this level for coming back to the facility just to get rid of GLaDOS, it's not actually her fault. If literally anybody played the actual game beforehand. The blue portal she entered through is actualy a dimensional rift. That means both chell, wheatly, and apparently space core were all affected by lord vortech's rift. Chell is only trying to escape again. I guess Chell still trying to defeat GLaDOS is a bit unreasonable, but Chell didint want to go back to defeat her initially, its the dimensional rifts that caused this.
LEGO and Portal are two of my favorite things ever! My heart can only take so much awesomeness!
