I was in the audience for this, I was sitting right next to where they came out of the barred doors. I'll tell ya what it was so cool to be so close to the cast. I went backstage later and met Val, Carol and Amanda. Such lovely women. Had a photo with each of them and Amanda even pinched me on the bum! lol Kochie is actually a really nice guy in person. I stood chatting to him for about 10 minutes when filming had finished. We had a good laugh!
I used to watch this with my mother almost 50 years ago. Still remember it., but and totally surprised the show was from Australia. All these decades I thought it was from England
She does seem like a fabulously sweet woman...like she'd be very easy to talk with. I don't think I've ever written to a celebrity...but I may write to her. Of course i wouldn't expect a reply but it would be amazing if she did!
mckavitt13...thank you so much for the encouragement....it would be amazing to get a response...don't know until I try! Have you written to anyone and gotten a response? Now if only I could find an address for Fiona
The program was called Prisoner in Cell Block H (in the UK) as there was already a program called Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan a two-time Emmy Award-winning actor who starred as a British spy in the 1960s TV series "Secret Agent" "DANGERMAN'
I met Val Bea back in early 00s and she was so so nice I got her autograph a photo with her and a hug such a lovely lady and Bea was my favourite in the show she took no shit off anyone but was kind and caring too
nice one for posting this, loved watchin it, but as mentioned already, its ALWAYS the same cast shown and the same scenes shown, i had even heard most of the casts storys before on previous interviews.. why cant they interview betty bobbit/judy bryant, glenda linscott/rita connors even jude kuring/noeline burke or sandy gore/kay white, they was well cool! loved them!
I worked in a west end restaurant in the 90's when The Freak was in London-she signed a picture that I had of her on my locker(!!) and also kissed me! (i'd served Brad Pitt also that week, but it meant sooooooooooo much more to me that she was in the restaurant!!) Brill show.
The actresses and the presenters all seem so charming and friendly and what a lovely interview of Prisoner. Are there any other Prisoner interviews on here on TH-cam? Dazza xx :)
I saw Val playing Annie Wilks in a tiny UK theater and she scared me half to death when she walked down the aisle! I was in awe Bea Smith less than 3 inches from me!!! she may have even touched me in passing 😲
Sonia Stevens on wentworth Prison was played by Sigrid Thornton (Roslyn Coulson on prisoner cell block h) and in the next series there's going to be a reimagined Eve wilder played by Lynda Stoner
that presser is sure getting a lot of fame lol, every video that I looked at about the actors on the show, that presser makes an appearance. that presser was a regular cast member lol, the sewing machine had only one scene and so did the iron lol, I wonder what that presser is doing now lol.
Colette Mann (Doreen) doesn't want to be associated with Prisoner, likewise I think Maggie is sick of it now as well. Shame though, Maggie was in it for so long and did musical etc but didn't contribute to DVD release extras
as far as i know they are still acting on the stage and australian tv i do know that the people who played steve faulkner, ann reynolds and spider are dead
i was gutted when it finished in the uk,it finished about 1993 n must of been about 1985 there where the freak got nicked, dodgy sets n wobbly walls but fuckin top entertainment, loved it 2 bits
I tried to watch the new version called wentworth but just couldnt get into it like i did the original. In Wentworth B was a wimp and coward and got bullied by everyone. So stopped watching it after a few episodes. thats the prob with remakes they just make too many changes and ruin it. Used to have every episode of cell block H on VHS. wore them out i watched them so much lol.
botox health warning alert!! i cant believe the botox disaster of val and petra...theyre faces hardly moved-esp `beas' maggie looks more younger an natural
Val that story just didn't happen as I am sure that people know the difference between a character you play and your real life self. Or if it did happen they would have been making fun of you. I've watched other interviews with Val and she thinks she can fight due to playing Bea and also has the biggest ego I've seen someone have.
A beautiful cast i love the show i still watch it to this day march 2023
omg, that laugh, Carol still has it! Such an amazing performance as Frankie.

Can you remember when this was filmed?
I use to love this show. I was only a teen then.. In the USA it was called Prisoner cell block H.
+FuzzY DaN Prisoner Cell Block H that's what it was called here in the UK as well
I used to watch this with my mother almost 50 years ago. Still remember it., but and totally surprised the show was from Australia. All these decades I thought it was from England
We loved this show in the USA but they took it off here for awhile but we got it back in 1984 on USA network and WGN Chicago
RIP Carol Burns
Vinegar Tits, actress Fiona Spence, is one of the nicest of all. Too bad she wasn't here too. Wonderful upload. Thanks so much!
you've met her? so jealous!
+Amy Kjorlien No, alas, never met her, but saw her interviewed & read so much about her. A sweetheart.
She does seem like a fabulously sweet woman...like she'd be very easy to talk with. I don't think I've ever written to a celebrity...but I may write to her. Of course i wouldn't expect a reply but it would be amazing if she did!
+Amy Kjorlien I replied w lots of info which has all disappeared. 😕
Hope you got it anyhow. ☺

Just in case you dont know, all the episodes are on youtube now.
I always loved Bea (even though she spooked me good for awhile at first) and Lizzie.
Franky was the reason I started watching P. cell block H, back in 1973!!
I always loved Chrissie's kind of light somewhat high pitched accent more than ever. I also liked Mrs Davidson's accent and Karen's as well.
I miss prisoner, Val, Maggie and the rest of the cast done a wonderful job.
you were gutted? I watched this series for 8 bloody years and then I MISSED THE LAST ONE!!!! Never got over it!!!!
HERES AN EXAMPLE OF WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE DID A WHOLE HOUR WITH JUST THE PRISONER CAST.
This was just great. I love Bea, Lizzie, Meg, Karen & Doreen xx
Bea Smith was truly the “Top Dog” at Wentworth.
Maggie did a great job as the warden she was scarey!
I love Bea :)

I saw Val playing Annie Wilks in a tiny UK theater and she scared me half to death when she walked down the aisle! I was in awe Bea Smith less than 3 inches from me!!! she may have even touched me in passing 😲

Mystery Guest -- Shirley Jones ... Who else -- I don't need to wait for the answer. I know already @ 1:10
the good old days wish they would come back
Frankie Doyle was the BEST character in the show there followed by Crissie Latham.
i love prisoner cell block H
Was my favorite show when I was young
3:43 waiting for the Americana or ground and pound after Bea's mount
Those cheers!
OMG I love prisoner cell block h.
Me too!! :)
I wonder if they'll get the same actresses back in the new re-imagined series
They certainly got a few of them back
Sonia Stevens on wentworth Prison was played by Sigrid Thornton (Roslyn Coulson on prisoner cell block h) and in the next series there's going to be a reimagined Eve wilder played by Lynda Stoner
Oooops I mean Queen Bea!! Loved Bea Smith!!
What happened to the rest of this
peta toppano was hot back then. she still looks good for her age
YEAH!!! Bugger me gently, there was no bloody song, Mrs. PAAAAAAHL!!!
that presser is sure getting a lot of fame lol, every video that I looked at about the actors on the show, that presser makes an appearance. that presser was a regular cast member lol, the sewing machine had only one scene and so did the iron lol, I wonder what that presser is doing now lol.

Wheres rita? :, (
is there anyone in particular you want to know about because i can find out about most of them for you
wheres Vera and Meg or Jim ?
Hey! I wanted to hear Lynn Hamilton sing. Booooo to you for cutting the film there. :>(
Colette Mann (Doreen) doesn't want to be associated with Prisoner, likewise I think Maggie is sick of it now as well. Shame though, Maggie was in it for so long and did musical etc but didn't contribute to DVD release extras
This must be Bea
as far as i know they are still acting on the stage and australian tv i do know that the people who played steve faulkner, ann reynolds and spider are dead
And officially she is! Good on you Maggie K.
Long live Queen Bea!
I never realised Amanda was "posh" English in real life!
Who was tougher Frankie Doyle or Bea Smith?
Good question. I'd say Bea tho'. For hers was psychological strength, which Frankie lacked.
Chanle 7 doing a Chanle 10 show O____O
i was gutted when it finished in the uk,it finished about 1993 n must of been about 1985 there where the freak got nicked, dodgy sets n wobbly walls but fuckin top entertainment, loved it 2 bits
Bea Smith..........THAT IS ALL!!!
The Freak is really nice lol.
I tried to watch the new version called wentworth but just couldnt get into it like i did the original.

I'm from the UK it's being re run right now ❤
pffffffffffffffffffffffffffttttttttttttt K1kur455 you got no taste
Sorry but Bea was crap. Truth is truth.
you're crap !
Bea was amazing. Val did some tremendous acting in it. So your opinion means jack shit.
Val that story just didn't happen as I am sure that people know the difference between a character you play and your real life self. Or if it did happen they would have been making fun of you. I've watched other interviews with Val and she thinks she can fight due to playing Bea and also has the biggest ego I've seen someone have.
GREAT WATCH BUT ACTING WAS AWFUL, A FIVE YEAR OLD COULD ACT BETTER
*WHERE'S JANE CLIFTON*
