That glowing endorsement for Chained Echoes definitely made me interested, but more importantly it's nice to see Stranger of Paradise mentioned in any top of lists. I loved both Nioh games and yet I just didn't have the time to play and due to lack of coverage I forgot it existed. If anything watching this definitely put my list on hold since I have a bunch of stuff to catch on. Excellent video!

Throughout the 30-ish minutes I appreciate how much the games and you shined in this video. Great list!!! Soul Hackers 2 and LiveAeviL were my favorites of the year. Unfortunately almost everything I was anticipating came out near the end of the year like Dragon Quest Treasures, River City Girls 2, Sonic Frontiers and Tactics Ogre. So I haven’t had a chance to complete those yet but I do thoroughly enjoy what I’ve played so far. I really gel with your taste in games and outlook on them. When you said something along the lines of being excited for things that others are inversely critical of in another one of your videos I related to that so much. You’re also the only channel I ever find new games to play on because my favorite types of games are ones that get no attention or are disliked. My best friend told me Chained Echoes was something I would like so I’ll probably check that out. Seeing you rate it so highly makes me enthusiastic about it too.

I am so tempted to say Dark and Darker because I haven't had so much fun with a game that I constantly couldn't put down and couldn't play enough of it. Can't wait for the February play test window to roll around again.
Last year was for me a catch up year with a lot of old release to play and finish, like the remake of demon's souls or Ys 3 the oath in felghana ( awesome game and series btw) and many others. But I played some games released in 2022 like elden ring that I loved and 2 games I was very impressed, power wash simulator and sonic frontiers, these two are soo good and I never could imagine that XD. But yeah this year will be the same because I already finished 3 games that came out years a go like legend of Grimrock my first ever first person dungeon crawler 👀
I haven't played Xenoblade 3 yet, but looking back, Xenoblade 2 might be my favorite game (exclusive) on the Switch. IDK. It's tough. 3 looks less appealing to me; but I'd still like to give it a shot. Arceus, the music really sticks with me still. Jubilife village theme is this weird mix of nostalgia for the past and present. Great list though. I need to make Elden Ring more of a priority for me. So excited for it. And as for your #1; while it's a pretty game, the aesthetic isn't really my favorite. I felt that way about Hollow Knight though and it ended up being one of my favorite games of the 2010s.
You should try Slasher's Keep. Like Devil Spire is also a first-person roguelike dungeon crawler RPG. It has nice combat with a realy cool directional blocking system I have not seen in other games and also a weapon crafting and unlockable races you can play as.
I agree 100% about Elden Ring, I feel off at about 80 hours in because it was just too overwhelming combing entire open areas looking for the really great dungeons and set pieces.
Crisis Core is th only game that I've really felt anything from in a long time. Completely immersed all over again, and wishing more games were like it.
Crisis Core on the original PSP actually is the only game that has ever made me cry at the end. I also very much enjoyed Crisis Core more than Final Fantasy 7, in terms of story development and delivery of such. Chrono cross got to me as well actually though, whenever you run into Crono Lucca and Marle as "spirit" children.
Wow, everyone is singing praises of Chained Echoes, I'm excited to finally play it! I'm too behind on games. Tunic and Strangers of Paradise are up there to play. I haven't played FF so I need to play the remakes still.... I do really like Monster Hunter World. Never played the DLC though. And World is more than enough for me so Rise's demo didn’t really grab my interest. World was such a solid concept that focused more on the habitats, creature behavior, and hunting. Rise didn't as much. I'm guessing you'd really like Wild Hearts! I'm waiting for performance fixes before I consider it but it seems interesting.
Tactics Ogre for me. I participated in the Gundam Battle Operation 2 network test on steam and it was beyond fun. I love gundam myself It's over but check it out if you have the chance.
