1v1 and 3v3 PvP (for cosmetics in this vid and soulstones) is gear normalized - everyone has the same stats so yes fresh out of story can do it. 6v6 PvP (moonstones and gold) is gear dependent and cannot be done by a new player. I’m 90% certain all of my recent videos state this, including my review from last week. Older videos won’t make this claim because ~2 years ago 6v6 PvP was doable fresh out of the story. Sorry for any confusion.
I am getting a bit bored of BnS constant grind lately, however other games out there are utter crap. Archeage and ESO are insults to combat styles,while BDO is almost same as BNS. I don’t like tab target games and will never play any again. I guess I am stuck with this game for a while.
Ashes of creation looks promising, and then lost ark maybe by the end of 2019 will be the best mmo on the market. All depends when (if) that one reaches the west.
There are 2 major problems with those games.At least for me. Lost Ark is a Diablo style mmo which I don’t like, while Ashes of Creation is also tab target/action style mixture, which I doubt will work properly. BnS non click/few skill fast combos is really cool and was the main reason I started it.

as a side note, Drinking and dancing adornment gives shinguards in addition to the drinking gourd so that might look nice on some costumes

Well you can also get the blood raid backpack or so from cs or hm merchant for 10 gold as f2p and it is an adornment that goes with any costume.
