    Tip: The bottom spring preload spacer is redundant and not needed. On CV forks it is required because the bottoming hydrostop does not feature a built in plastic preload spacer to prevent the steel spring from resting directly against the aluminum bottoming hydrostop.

    The lock nut should be threaded all the way up the rod so rebound adjuster can fit on all the way.

      On the XACT Pro 6500 it would be beneficial to run 380cc instead of the stock 400cc. On the Xplor Pro 6500 the stock 380cc is recommended

    • @RideJBI
      @RideJBI  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thanks for the message.
      400cc is the baseline spec per the WP manual. Not implying that it is the optimal setting. Instead sharing what the info is from WP.
      The JBI Spec WP XACT 6500 fork builds have various oil volumes depending the rider and riding types. Common oil range used is 360-400cc.

    • @TeamStruggleBunny
      @TeamStruggleBunny ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RideJBI I have the Xplor Pro and the spec is 380 I believe and 340 seems pretty close to optimal for my riding. I'll be putting the Xact Pro on my new bike so thought I'd ask.

    • @RideJBI
      @RideJBI  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TeamStruggleBunny The length of fork is different between the Xplor Pro and the XACT Pro. Because the fork springs are different lengths, this affects the engagement point of the spring tube engaging the outer chamber fork oil when the forks compress. It is not accurate to compare oil volumes between the Xplor Pro and XACT Pro. 380cc in the Xplor pro is pretty much the same as 400cc in the longer XACT Pro fork.

    • @jamesasanon5281
      @jamesasanon5281 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a spring conversion for an air fork. There is no stock spring.

    • @RideJBI
      @RideJBI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello 👋
      Springs are provided by Ride JBI when purchased since this replaces the internals of the WP AER48 forks which don’t have metal coil springs and instead use a pneumatic spring cartridge

    • @RideJBI

      Hello and thanks for the comment. Ride JBI has further improved upon the baseline WP settings and incorporates additional JBI parts into the setups. However suspension setup preference is subjective and varies per rider. To highlight that there are a number of videos on our channel of riders sharing their feedback and experience with both the original WP settings and the JBI spec settings. This concept will continue because Ride JBI believes in being transparent with our suspension testing, development and feedback during our quest to continually improve all brands and types of suspension

    At minute 1:20 you have the spacer on both the top and bottom on the fork spring? Doesn’t the bottoming cone have a clear plastic spacer ? Why the additional spacer ?

    • @RideJBI
      @RideJBI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello. Thanks for comment. Agreed it is redundant. For this video wanted to follow the WP manual instructions. But yes, the redundant spacer it isn’t needed. The WP XACT Pro 7548 Fork bottoming cone is different and does not feature a plastic spacer built in so the provided spring spacer is needed. My guess is WP wanted to maintain a consistent build procedure for both forks regardless of the minor redundancy of the plastic spacer. Good eye!
