At the age of 84 I discovered this song, never let it be said that the more modern songs are nothing but a noise. The excitement that this number brings to the audience is phenomenal, even when I do the cover on Karaoke the audience goes wild especially when I point a finger at the ladies and gents to identify them as THE ONE. I am a hit every time.
I'm with you only I'm a mere 70 😅 I love those boys especially when I found out my da was a welshman 18months ago what a sound what a crowd at that gig
Without doubt for me, the best feelgood rock song ever written. The lead harmonics playing in the background are wonderfully played by Adam. Kelly Jones is top of his game. Brilliant!
I saw them do this at the Weston V Festival that year... they blew everyone from the whole weekend out of the water. I just cant put into words how amazing they are live.
15 March of 2020, full quarantine in Italy, and music is what is keeping us mentally sane, and even if we are far from each other, you still make me feel like the one. Love you Bambi💙
Gawd I feel soo lucky to the there whn Stereophonics perfomed in KL back in 2010. 13yrs later seeing this makes me sigh in contentment as if brought me back to that very place n time. Thx Stereophonics for giving me the joy u've gvn with yur songs!!! Much love from Malaysia!!!
There is magic in his voice and it's spreading through the sea of people coming back at him with with real connection,a true performer exactly how it should be :-)
I was 50 when this song was released, and I still remember thinking ' thank heaven.....thank heaven that someone still knows how to do decent rock and roll'. Almost twenty years later and the song still sounds utterly glorious. Went to see Far From Saints this week, and Kelly Jones still knocking it out of the park - phenomenal talent.
Claudio Pedro Correa Barreto I remember buying an album called "super fresh 2" in 2005 (i was 14 at that time with the usual teenager problems, rebellious and fail love and whatnot XD) which had this song in it. Became a fan instantly (i had no idea of stereophonics prior). Also remember the first time i saw a video of them performing dakota live. Gave me goosebumps. Today every now and then i like to listen to this song. Still gives me the same feeling as when i did the first time everytime. Right in the feels.
simply one of the greatest live rock bands ever! Love you Stereophonics so much xxx stereophonics ROCK!! so proud of you all so much I love this song so much too!
Makes me proud to be Welsh! Wonderful band and such a fantastic talent in Kelly Jones. And the song is even quite moving with the crowd singing. So glad they have such an appreciative audience here.
Dakota and Me. I play this record to remember a friend who died too young in a tragic motor bike accident. I drove to work, days after hearing the very sad news about 3 and half years ago, pulling up at the same spot that he died at, flowers marking his legacy. Winding down the windows of my car on that very quiet Sunday morning, on a country road in East Yorkshire, the track that came on was Dakota, the volume went to max as I got out the car, and listened - Peace!
Stereos are the REAL DEAL, had the privalidge of seeing them at personal gig in Oxford 5 weeks ago & met the band after lovely lovely boys. They are still so underrated, there really are no other bands that come any where near them, they are in a league of their own, so looking forward to their new album due out very shortly!!
''I wonder if we'll meet again. Talking about life since then. Talk about why did it end..'' I'll never forget that June. You made me feel like the one!
This always reminds me of someone incredibly special, unfortunately the timing was never right and we weren't to be! And had to let her go, although this song makes me sad I also like to remember those moments we did have, love you
I full reco you to do that. Their live vibe is something to be experienced. Don't forget that they are a rock band so don't expect childis/pop-star interactions with the audience.
I took my wife to see them on Dydd Gwyl Dewi 3 years ago in Birmingham, only her 2nd Gig (first was Simply Red, 3rd Ed Sheeran), she says that this band is her favourite (but only because I'm from Aberdare! - though Kelly is from Cwmaman). She's 58 and only been to 3 big gigs and loved them all. Definitely go and see them live.

Awsome band and this song is as as good live . This song came out as a coming of age for me. Just didn't realise at the time, great energy to this song. Love
I had just had my son before this concert and then I heard this song and I gave birth again in 2011 and I called my daughter Dakota. I’m part welsh too. I adore this band xoxo 💋
Who remembers this from Total Football Manager 2004 or 2005? Man I was a kid back then and this is still my favorite song out of hundreds I like/love. There's just something special in the music for me and the lyrics match it perfectly.
I ve been listening to the song for 15 years(since pes2010) All I can say for all this time is I apologize to my neighbors. This song is a medicine for me in all my moods. Loves and greetings from Turkey ❤️❤️

I also do this at Karaoke, it's a fabulous one to do. Have you tried Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol?
Brilliant. I’m drinking with you.
You legend..are you Tom Jones.
I'm with you only I'm a mere 70 😅
I love those boys especially when I found out my da was a welshman 18months ago what a sound what a crowd at that gig

Not many bands that can make a live version sound as good as the CD album version .....totally amazing 👍👏👏
Very true...Freddie with queen did as well👍

So was I. And tonight in a pub, 20 years later the song blew the roof off.
Took 15 years to know that there was a band on the planet called STEREOPHONICS. And t took me 15 seconds to become a fan. Fantastic!!!

I am going to see Porcupine tree for the first time in Nevember ... 🙂
Consistently one of the best British bands of the last 30 years. I've been lucky to see them live a few times, and they're just brilliant.

Because people are stupid that is why amazing bands like the stereophonics don't have the attention they should have.
Noonies Wick I normally listen to the studio version.
