I was in Vegas in 2004. Waiting outside a shopping mall as they say! And a local guy heard my northern English accent asked which bands were big in the UK at that moment. I said 'The Killers are doing really well!'. 'Where are they from?' was the reply! True story! 😂
I just love how this song is adored by the band that created it. Many bands out there crank out a song, it becomes popular, and suddenly out of the blue, the song is hated by the very band that created it in the first place. Hats off to The Killers for giving the same love of their own song the same way their fans love it.
Very true. Fitting in with some of the previous comments about how The Killers are bigger in the UK than the US, Radiohead's Creep was a hit on US college radio before it was a hit in the UK. The band rarely play it live now. The song did a lot to establish the band, but they aren't too keen on it themselves.
Simon Gamble exactly why I consider The Killers to be a far better band than Radiohead. Wouldn’t be surprised if the former is selling out more shows than the latter.
@@nicholascauton9648 You consider The Killers to be better because Radiohead's most popular song (a grunge song that doesn't fit their current aesthetic, sound or fanbase in the slightest) is disliked by them...?

I've said this a million times, I don't know what having thousands of strangers singing your lyrics back to you feels like, but it has to be somewhere around Nirvana and Heaven.
I can’t tell you what that feels like but I played guitar for a band in an outdoor festival and I had a lead part. As I was playing I heard it bounce off a building down the street and when it hit me in the chest I thought I was going to die right there. It was a magic moment the likes of which I can’t explain and it has never happened again. It was like I simultaneously had full control of everything on Earth and absolutely nothing at all and it all matched up at the exact point I was standing. I imagine what you’re talking about is what I’m talking about but multiplied by 100,000 and you get to do it whenever you want. That level of “stardom” has to permanently change a man.
Noel Gallagher said despite all the drugs he’s taken and the amount of times he’s taken them, no high will ever amount to that feeling. Truly says something considering his 20s lol
my previous metal band once did a show to 200-250 people. the show started alright but then, the crowd did a circle pit to one of our songs. seeing that pit and all those smiling faces from the stage was so fun, I dare say it was better than sex with the woman of your fantasy. that show felt like the blink of an eye and i wasn't even high on any substance other than whatever energy was going on that night.
02:05, the look of a singer who loves how the audience appreciates what his band is doing. @Kate Crossley Thanks. I hope the UK is taking care too. It's where I'm from. I hope everyone everywhere takes care.
Damn, I never realize how much of a beast Ronnie Vannucci is as a drummer! Dude hits like a tank!
This was the loudest performance in Glastonbury history, and you can really feel it even through the video.
That’s insane the loudest !! I’ve been to a few festivals and I remember seeing RHCP live and that was out of this world 90,000 singing a song!!
That's probably like 100.000 singing your song, imagine a million people was there.
Thats funny u say that. U gotta see the Glastonbury 17' i think it was. I used to watch it on tv and would see the people going NUTS!!!!!! No exaggeration they ain't miss one word and they were on shoulders dancing etc. Crazy. Of course thats how it is there with all performances but it was just different with this song. I had never seen it like that before. Pure anthem way of getting down to it. And now i see what u say here and in some other comments here they're saying it IS an anthem for British kids so i guess i wasn't mistaken lol. By the way....why the hell are they not putting those festivals on tv no more?!?!?! I miss it so much. The channel Paladia helped me so much through a dark ass time in my life. Damnit.
Loudest in Glasto history, and the crowd STILL almost drowns them out in places. What a performance, and what an audience.
I was in Vegas in 2004. Waiting outside a shopping mall as they say! And a local guy heard my northern English accent asked which bands were big in the UK at that moment. I said 'The Killers are doing really well!'. 'Where are they from?' was the reply! True story! 😂
How is it possible that Brandon looks younger? He must be drinking whatever Keanu is drinking.
hahaha!
It's called holy water my friend😉
Maybe Mormon water
Just order both Holy and Mormon water from Amazon!
Cryostasis is cool.
I just love how this song is adored by the band that created it. Many bands out there crank out a song, it becomes popular, and suddenly out of the blue, the song is hated by the very band that created it in the first place. Hats off to The Killers for giving the same love of their own song the same way their fans love it.
The song is just too awesome
If I wrote a fucking Banger like this I'd be playing it on repeat and never get tired of it
I respect so much that they always seem to to give this song their all. Lord knows they're probably tired of singing it, but it could always be someone's first time hearing it and they know that
The killers should just be given British citizenship
Nah, it should be knighthood at this point.

ronnie Vannucci jr. is very well regarded in drumming circles

When the crowd sings louder than your amplifiers...It's a KILLER from THE KILLERS.
Dave Grohl said you can sing a song to 80,000 people and they’ll sing it back to you for 80,000 reasons
Noel Gallagher said despite all the drugs he’s taken and the amount of times he’s taken them, no high will ever amount to that feeling. Truly says something considering his 20s lol
@@rebeccans7729 must be quite the high
my previous metal band once did a show to 200-250 people. the show started alright but then, the crowd did a circle pit to one of our songs. seeing that pit and all those smiling faces from the stage was so fun, I dare say it was better than sex with the woman of your fantasy. that show felt like the blink of an eye and i wasn't even high on any substance other than whatever energy was going on that night.

02:05, the look of a singer who loves how the audience appreciates what his band is doing.
I gotta imagine, from looking at the end of the video, that these artists wish these moments could go on and on and on. It must be hard as hell to sleep that night, after having reached that level of rewarded adulation for a job well done.
He's playing at Glastonbury, in front of 10s of thousands of people, all of whom are screaming the song like an anthem and his musical hero, Johnny F*&*ing Marr is on lead guitar. If that doesn't make him smile....
That's the face when you have Johnny Fucking Marr as your lead guitarist.

Coachella is for people who like to brag about going to Coachella and put it on their gram just for the sake of it. People who actually go for a good time and for the music are the type of people who go to places like TRNSMT, Reading/Leeds and Glasto.
