Can’t understand how this video has only 51k views. The amount of effort, time and money you put into this should deserve 51 million views at least. Thanks for this and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very impressed with Crosstrek. Too bad the newer Crosstrek Hybrid takes up too much of the trunk space and is a bit pricey. Will probably get a non-hybrid version.
I watch all of the manufacturers with their press gatherings and this one is in a league of it's own with what they put their cars through. While I am sure they didn't plan on the white-out conditions it was very interesting to see what the car could do in situations more extreme than what it is designed for compared to a prepared off-road track. Thanks for posting the long version of this as it was very well done.
I live in Brazil and dream of owning a Subaru XV 2021. Around here they only have a 2.0 aspirated engine. The 2022/23 version is hybrid, not interested. With each video I watch, I look forward to buying a Subaru XV !

BTW, after researching everything from 4x4's to hybrids, I am weighing buying the Crosstrek vs the Outback, due to the all-around capabilities of Subaru's and their kick-butt MPG. È fantastica ma la vernice e la carrozzeria è molto delicata, dark grey metallica si danneggia solo a guardarla e ogni colpetto fa i Ding sulla lamiera. In inverno su Gennargentu Mount uso Yokohama Winter 905 e in estate g 95 A che mi portano anche in cima al Corrasi Mount. Purtroppo in Europa non commercializzano più il motore diesel Subaru, solo motori a benzina che con CVT consumano troppa benzina e da noi il carburante costa tantissimo. But quando guidi una Subaru diventi l'uomo più felice del mondo intero.

have almost 13K on my 2024 2.0 Japanese Offshore Blue Metallic, only problem, had been a recent occurrence of the radio going full volume with weird reverbing sounds and would not even shut off with the car till minutes later. Startled me!
Meanwhile…….Toyota rav4 and Honda crv stay safe in their warm garages boasting how amazing they are 😂😂😂. Ok just like to have fun there. Amazing, tundra aside, that is the MOST capable reliable vehicle and looks like loads of fun to go everywhere and anywhere. Great video
hang on... how are you "turning off VDC" youre not refering to Traction Control are you? they are two different systems. as far as I know you can only disable VDC by pulling out a fuse that also powers ABS and Break lights. I dont think you are turning off VDC unless you have found a way.
Tourists are allowed to take their car to Iceland and use them while they are staying. The max time is one year but after that they must be taken back or imported and registered.
Awesome video!!! You guys seems to be experts about the car's ability so I have a question for you. I have owned the 2014 Crosstrek Hybrid for the past 7 yrs. At the time I bought the vehicle I wasn't interested in towing but now I am wondering IF this Crosstrek model can tow a lightweight teardrop trailer? Everything I've researched said not to do it. Although the newer hybrid Crosstrek's now say they can tow up to 1,000#. Just wondering what is the difference in the newer hybrid's compared to the original model that now says the vehicle can tow? Any info would be appreciated.
Nick Dills, What you fail to understand is that it only gets 1 mpg better... but increases the horsepower by 12 and the torque by 18. One of the biggest complaints of the non-hybrid Crosstreks and Imprezas is lack of power... they nerfed the power to gain gas mileage... so this is an impressive compromise. You get the target gas mileage, and you go from 148 hp to 160 hp, which is closer to the past 2.5i engines at 170 hp.
Chipwhitley274 but youre still paying more the hybrid... its not worth it imo... i have a 2011 outback sport wagon and i find them slow w 170 HP... so 160 HP is even slower... i love the crosstrek as my lady has a 2014 but the hybrid doesn't make it that big of deal.
That is during official testing. A hot climate will increase the difference. Mountains or stop/start traffic will make this difference greater as well.

You are a moron... it is a crossover in conditions that only Super Jeeps are really supposed to be capable of handling... they were confident enough to be honest... that there is such a thing as conditions a person should worry about, in a vehicle that is essentially a lifted compact hatchback. People who brag about their vehicles ability to handle everything, and not having the sense to admit limitations... are the one's that end up in ditches or flipped over. Furthermore, the vehicle being driven by the guys in this video had far fewer issues than others... which shows it is a driver issue, not necessarily the vehicle. Having said that the Crosstrek is not all powerful and unstoppable... but it was able to do more than any other crossover from any other manufacturer.
At least for a viewer like me who understands exactly they are 100% upping the challenge for this car compared to what's it intended for. The viewers want to see honest and true review, not a sugarcoated ad. Even to see the crosstrek is able to do in this video is very convincing to the buyers already. They cannot be false advertising so that people who are actually needing the car for this exact condition will think the car is invincible. (Also the majority of the crosstrek's target audience is not going to be using the car for this type of condition anyways so they know it means its more than capable to handle most situations the buyers will ever faced in real life)

I wouldn’t recommend towing with the old one. Even the new one is very limited in that regard.
