This appeals to me as I’ve an old Bryston Int. Amp with S/PDIF only digital input and my source is a roon nucleus with only usb or hdmi out. I’ve actually got the Pro-ject Stream Box S2 Ultra bridge in another system and its first class, but with usb only out, I can’t use it with my Bryston either. With this bridge, the S/PDIF output means my Bryston can be used, but I’m concerned about the upsampling the Limetree is doing. If I’ve a 44.1khz source, is there any option to just send it through the bridge as is, to allow the Bryston DAC to do its thing. My alternative is to use one of the few USB to S/PDIF solutions like Audiophilleo 2 or Renessence Concero between the Nucleus and Bryston. They seem to be more bit for bit, but they don’t offer the added benefits of this Bridge if I was to come out of the Roon ecosystem. I wonder if you could give any insight on the above now you’ve lived with the Limetree bridge for a while?
It's now January 2023 and I can find no evidence that the USB has been upgraded to be an output. There's nothing stating this on the Lindemann site or in any other review. It's a shame as I'd have bought one. It appears that Elite Audio were wrong about this. Could anyone clarify?
Without having heard the device yet, I already see two conundrums with this device: 1. Lindemann has NOT released a FW upgrade that enables the USB DAC mode, nor will they release such in the mid-future (allegedly), thus we will be limited to 192 kHz (Chord 2go/2yu supports USB and its S/PDIF is limited to 384, just to give some comparison facts). 2. The SRC always upscales the source, and it cannot be bypassed! This means that even though the source is e.g. 44.1 kHz the output of the Bridge will be 176.4. Thus, if the DAC in the chain does already some fancy upscaling, then this Bridge is the wrong device.
And even 9 months after your post Chord still hasn't been able to supply any 2yu devices for retail. Not sure that's a valid comparison to make really. I do agree with point 2 though.
no mention if this supports gapless playback for Tidal & Qobuz. Many £600+ streamers don't so would have been good if this had been covered in your overview
So, spent all day trying to make that "easy" wifi connection, and will not take it. So far, set up is a PITA. Tried manually adding the info, as well as the search network function this vid showed, etc. Will not connect. So far, not thrilled... will continue try and figure out why it will not connect via wifi.
A simple video on how to connect this dumb box without an Ethernet cable (which is not included in the box and no one has that outdated cable anymore) or the WPS button.. would have been nice.
No I2S out, and upsampling that cannot be disabled. No thanks. Also, why use a fully balanced PSU on a device that doesn't need one? Surely you mean "fully regulated"?
The Auris amp, the Manhattan DAC, the Boenicke speakers... all gorgeous bits of kit.
A lovely system in more ways than one👏
That Auris amp is so awesome
Thanks for the information. Do you know though, when the bridge will get functionality upgrade to use the USB to Dac connection?
+1
Is there any news with the firmware upgrade? It seems it has been years now so has this functionality been scrapped?
So how does it compare to the SOTM SMS-200 Neo ? Worth the extra?
would be also very interesting for me

If you use optical with analogue output into your amp will bypass the interval DAC if you have one in your integrated amp?

Where the hell can I get one of these and how much does it cost? Perfect for simple tidal and spotify connect
Ordered one. Took 3 dang weeks to come from Germany. Exactly what was looking for without spending silly $.
@@willbrink Price?
@@P194-s3i Just under 1k US. Not cheap, way less than other higher end products out there for that use.
@@willbrink I thought so. Thank you!
@@P194-s3i I will do a review shortly too.
thanks for video.... Can you also make a video to the Limetree Network, specialy to the sound in comparison to Bluesound Node 2i?
Ose Enerby Limetree network is far superior sounding to the 2i, no need to compare them, they are on different levels.

Should you turn the unit off or is it best to use it as an always on device?
