What a beautiful sofa! I just scored a practically new 7’ Ethan Allen sofa from Craigslist for the unheard of price of $75. And the very nice gentleman delivered it for an additional $25. I would have had to either rent a vehicle like you did or hire someone to deliver it so I was thrilled to have him willing to deliver it. My new to me sofa is very much my style, and in a darker neutral stripe ( dark olive gold and navy pinstripes) that will be easy to decorate around . I was lucky that it only took me about 8 months of looking at what seemed like an endless supply gray sectionals when “ my” sofa showed up. I’ve been curating my home for almost 30 years, slowly picking up pieces here and there; it’s been a labor of love.

Yes, it really is perfect. I'm so glad you found yours. I, too, waited and waited for a year until I found the perfect tight back, rolled arm couch. I watched FBMP and looked at thrift stores and estate sales. There were a couple of vintage couches I would have been happy with that I almost picked up, but something would fall through. But it worked out because I found the perfect couch at an estate sale for 300.00. I did not want to take the chance and wait for the 50% off day and decided to buy it for the asking price. I'm happy to have it and it makes the room so cozy.

That sofa is perfect! It's beautiful and just right for the space. It's much lighter and lifts the atmosphere of the room. This will last you a lifetime. Nothing compares to a firm backed sofa. I had a settee with a firm back decades ago and have lived to regret giving it away. It didn't fit in my last house. I should have held onto it. Lesson learned. Hard to find these traditional English style sofa's especially with the turned legs and on castors!. That's a quality piece you were lucky to purchase for so little.

LOL Are we sisters from another mother? I had one of those super wide over baked potatoes in my living room too only mine was mold green. I bought it in a hurry and it was a huge mistake. I peeled back the fabric on the arms and took my skill saw to them. Took about 4 inches off each arm so the over all love seat was about 8 inches narrower. Then I rebuilt and closed in the ends. I lived with it for several years like that and then my little dream couch came along at the thrift store I volunteer at. I love it but I need to recover it some how. I have to do a loose cover because I have animals that sleep on all my furniture so covers need to be washable.
Your new couch is lovely. Great score for $85.00. I put a free sign on my love seat and set it in my garage with the door open and finally some one stopped and picked it up.
I adore that sofa. I have a Craftmaster sofa almost exactly the same style as your new one. It’s high quality, and your Ralph Lauren look fabric gave me an idea of how I want to get my sofa reupholstered. It’s just gorgeous, and what a blessing. God sent you the perfect sofa.

One word...Love! This is perfect for your home! Such a realistic approach that most of take in decorating our homes. But tv shows and the internet can really make you feel like it all comes together quickly. Real life is slow and as we have the time and funds. Now all you need is a real dog to match the pillow and figurines. :)

Beautiful Sofa! Love that fabric! I love my florals but I also use plaids, checks and stripes to tone down the foo-foo of floral. I too was lucky enough to find a roll arm and mine has a camel back. Also $85. It was a donation to a local Salvation Army store, from a small custom order furniture store. I had shopped at that S A location so often they knew my style, and one of the employees noticed me shopping one day and said, " I'm so glad to see you and I thought of you when we were putting it on the floor." I am still grateful to him 20 years on. He also saved a most comfy wide rolled arm chair with streight back. It is THE fave seat of all family and guests. Matt definitely deserves that comfy sofa. He is a jewel of a husband. I reallly enjoy watching you two.

What a beautiful find! Last year, I was so excited to find an English rolled arm sofa with tight back, turned legs, and castors on FB marketplace. I think my husband was a little bemused by my excitement, but he gamely helped me pick it up and move it into our living room!

Lovely replacement for the old couch. It isn't plaid, however. It's houndstooth. We also had one of those heavy sofa beds many years ago. It served it's purpose, but I was very happy to see it go.
