@@Nintendoman01I feel like Xander is always so biased and pissy. I like that Giles is always well-spoken and clear in his point. Also somewhat unbiased. While his point was very personal, it was still much more fair than Xander’s. And Cordie just takes Xander’s side, so she’s annoying.
I can't say I blame him. He had a right to be angry, after Angel/Angelus tortured him and murdered Jenny. He was right when he said she betrayed his trust, put her loved ones in danger and disrespected him. She should have told them.
Its interesting how he gets all high and mighty when he drugged her and almost killed her mom that right there she have been the moment she killed him for betrayin her council or not i understood there raising warriors to fight a war but that crossed a line almost killin a innocent person both him and the council should have been held responsible that year giles was a dickhead
I can understand why you'd say he's being hypocritical and a dickhead. But you're being too harsh on Giles, the whole drug a slayer at 18 thing, was something that was done long before Giles became a Watcher. It was this messed up tradition, by the council to test a young slayers intellect and planning without her powers, Giles couldn't stop they. And it wasn't something that he did joyfully or unapologetically, it was what his organisation required of him to do, and with no other choice. And given he's sworn his life to be a watcher and obey the council, why should he be blamed? He was raised to be a watcher and loyal to the council from childhood. If it wasn't done by him, it would've been done by someone else. Wesley at that point would've done it in a heart beat and without remorse or apology. Giles who'd developed a love for Buffy, beyond that of a Watcher, actually broke the rules and put his neck on the line to help her. Yes he drugged her, but at the last minute he came clean to her, realised the whole thing was fucked and actually did his best to stop it. Buffy here was choosing to keep Angels existence and return is fucked. It's not that he returned, that's the problem, it's that he returned and she didn't tell anyone and kept him hidden. Yes she was right to worry they'd kill him, given what he did. But concealing his existence was utterly disrespectful on her part. He killed Jenny, injured Willow, helped kill Kendra and nearly ended the world and she doesnt consider to tell them what was going on???? Now that's fucked!!!!!
And as much as I get it, because they share a face, Angel and Angelus ARENT the same person. One isn't even a person. One is literally a demon in a man's body, and Angel has his (yes, literally his from when he was alive) human soul and consciousness. They reiterate that so many times to drive home how tortured Angel is. They're torturing the demon with the man he lives inside (that's more a comic thingy when we meet Angels demon more).
