I thought this movie could never live up to the absurd expectations that Des Tiny and everyone else was setting it up to have, but god damn it was even better than I thought possible. Genuinely one of the best movies ever made.

I watched after destiny recommended it earlier this week. Now I’m an evangelist, I have converted 4 other people so far.
I think this movie hits home for a particular person that needs the specific lesson this movie has to teach. I was one of those people. The second half of the movie was very emotional for me because the main male character reminded me so much of my girlfriend and of all of her kindness and care for others that I have sometimes taken for granted in the past. I left the movie with a newfound appreciation for my own life and girlfriend and really thought that it helped me reframe my relationship in a better light. Naturally, I asked my girlfriend to watch the movie because of how much it impacted me.
She watched it and thought it was okay, nothing special. Such is life
It was amazing, holy shit i just finished it, amazing movie. Nothing matters, it maters for me.

I've never seen a movie that was a perfect comedy, family drama, love story, and action movie all at once. And then to top all that off, as I said to my friend, it "out Matrixed the Matrix".
Count me as one more person who thought this couldn't possibly live up to the hype around it, and it exceeded my expectations.

I loved this movie, but Arcane is the one I’m acting like a disciple about. The only diference is that I heard super praise about this movie so I had expectations, while I stumbled upon Arcane by accident and it floored me.
I wish I could have watched this movie completely blind.

I liked the show a lot, but I can't really rewatch it.
Arcane is overall really good. The plot is kinda solid but who cares about that?!? The freakin production values are insane. I've literally never seen animated characters move in more convincing ways.
The voice acting, the body language and lip flaps? God tier. In terms of production, they are they Naughty Dog of anime.
Really? I saw like insane amounts of hype for artifact when it came out (esp from the vgc) but since it’s a Netflix show the hype dies especially with their announcement to gut animation. This film though… we might still be talking about it in a decade brining it up in top films from the 2020’s

They did Jackie Chan action but speed-ramped the footage which sorta took me out of the fight scenes. Other than that small fight scene gripe, everything was pretty awesome
Undercranking is actually a very common technique in classic 80s and 90s Hong Kong movies, including most of Jackie Chan's pre Hollywood stuff.

@@senaesul3128 Yeah, it also blends in a bit more because the frame rate is always varies a bit with manual crank cameras like the ones they were using. those HK era Jackie movies are the best :)

This movie was really good but I thought it would be even better because of the Arcane levels of praise destiny gave it. Really well done overall although destiny kinda ruined it for me setting it up to be my favorite movie of all time.

At this point Destiny's (positive) movie takes are about as bad as his food takes. Everything Everywhere All at Once was just a confused, boring mess.
The humor fell completely flat, the only scene that made me exhale air slightly faster through my nose was the buttplug one. The sci-fi elements with the multiverse are generally insanely overdone at this point, and many other works did it significantly better. The script was confused as to whether take its main plot seriously or not and it suffered greatly as a result. Unsatisfying kung-fu. The family/relationship/nihilism motifs were insanely run of the mill with predictable outcomes. I don't get how it can make anyone emotional when you can basically tell how each emotional conflict will be resolved within a minute after it appears (the rocks were cute tho). I regret continuing watching this slog past 30 minute mark but I blame my autism for that.
The best things I can say about it - it's not cookie cutter overall and is pretty original in some ways, decently shot, doesn't have any virtue signalling.
Just tells us everything about you but nothing about Destiny, lmao. Get some good taste.

I too like the rock scene the best because it's the first time the movie stops making so much audio visual noise.
The character motivations were convoluted, which really took me out of the film. I didn't get what the bagel was supposed to do so no stakes. Jobu wanted to convince her mom into being nihilistic as well but when she failed, she decided to be...extra nihilistic?What was the lesson that was so profound? That you should accept your gay daughter? Why? Because it's the end of the movie and things need to wrap up?
I don't get how those who love this film are the same who didn't like the new blade runner movie, which had much better action sequences and cinematography.
I just can't trust the taste of general audience anymore.
