one of the best things about living in China/Asia is you can get alcohol from any corner stores/convinient shops but you don't have drunk cxnts chanting and wandering on streets in the middle of the night, which is so vastly different from most western cities
Because they must go to work next morning in 8:00😂️
and in most places, you can just pop a beer open and sip in the street in absolute peace. Public drunkenness is rare. Drinking related crimes is plain unheard of.

@@darkhalo153 actually as Chinese, i do not agree with this. Getting drunk on the street wont make you “lose face” at all. And this type of drunk guys can be easily spotted in Japan, at late night. Most chinese people like to drink with friends at the dining tables, so if they are drunk, they’d be drunk there and get taken care of by their companions, instead of just aimlessly wandering around on the streets.
I love Chengdu. Great food, great vibe, lots of things to see, very safe, and pandas!
You could look up the translation of a colloquialism “少不入蜀，老不出川”
“少不入蜀，老不出川” is actually used to describe Chengdu as a place where the atmosphere between people is suitable for people to live, but not for development. Because there are so many good food and fun things to do in this place, young people who come to this place will easily wear out their motivation and become mediocre. And if an older person comes here, then he can retire in Chengdu in a very relaxed environment, at ease.

Thank you so much for this. Chengdu is the city where my mother had her last year of horrah before marrying my Dad. I always thought of it as a place of a young woman’s independence. She has always told me it’s a verdant and relaxing places and indeed when I finally visited, I was happy and at peace. Would love to visit again and Mom will be so happy to see the city of her youth (we all have a place like that don’t we?) through your beautiful lens.

The small filter cup in the black tea cup is to prevent the black tea from being soaked in hot water for too long and cause the tea to be too strong. Steep it for a while, put it in the lid of the cup, drink it, and put it in again when the cup is refilled.

Of all the cities in China, I love Chengdu, like, a lot. Wuhou Shrine is nice, but the shrines and gardens in Suzhou are next level. Wait till you get to Suzhou 😀
We love Chengdu as well definitely one of our favourites. We’ve been to Suzhou but we went in the summer and it was too hot I think we need to go again.

by your inspiration i ve been to chengdu and did the 100km by bycicle it was perfect i love the city
Its almost too chill, the drivers barely want to find the right spot they'll just leave you anywhere in the vague area lol, compared to Chongqing taxis who think they are in Need For Speed lol. I love Chengdu though, best city for hip hop in China. We partied so much I lost some brain function hahaha. Flat and easy to navigate unlike CQ. But on the flipside, CQ's scenery is much more astonishing and beautiful.... But man I get MAD trying to find GPS markers there. God I miss Sichuan so much, your videos are well made, a good balance of landscape and yourselves talking, casual, conversational and not generic location choices. Helps me stay connected with some of the best days of my life.
The most shocking places in Sichuan are in these two places, which represent the most unique scenery and culture in China.
I've visited HK, Macau, Guangzhou, Changsha, Xi'an, and Chengdu. Chengdu is by far my favorite city. I plan to move there next year.

It is recommended that you live in SHU NAN, where there are more typical and ancient Chinese courtyards and buildings, as well as the unique bamboo forest environment

It is highly recommended to go to SHU NAN （蜀南竹海） and CHUAN XI （川西竹海） Bamboo Sea in Sichuan for vacation, to see wild giant pandas and taste wild bamboo delicacies.

Bike rental is super cheap on various apps. I’m not sure how it works if you don’t live in China and have a Chinese back account but if you do then it’s only like 20p a ride.
Those old people with long-barrelled cameras are actually photographing birds, that is their hobby as a form of entertainment for the elderly after retirement and those who are well off will spend a lot of money on equipment.
I live in Chengdu.If you come to our city，u must vist the most marvelous irrigation construction named Dujiangyan which was built 2000 years ago

agree, don't get trapped by the fancy looking western food places - many of them change the way how the food is cooked and served in order to accommodate Chinese people's taste buds and their special "needs" for a "good looking" meal experience. Drink is no exception - for example, many cafes make weird coffee drinks by adding way too many things into a coffee - pretty much like how a bubble tea/milk tea is made. Anyway, just a personal thought - I'm not saying ALL those food places are like that by the way. Enjoy ur local adventure in whichever city you go to, and of course embrace the local food which is worth your time :)

Chengdu is big, another city that's not as big but quite relaxing might be Dali in Yunnan.
