    In Toronto Canada, most of the subway stations do not have washrooms. People just pee everywhere on the alleys outside the stations. You can smell the subway stations before you see them.

      The bright side is there are only TWO lines in Toronto, hence not so many stations which also means few open air piss pools. Imagine what the city would smell like if there are as many stations as say in Shanghai, the very thought gives me chills.

    You have to love clueless Western commentary. China, especially Shenzhen is growing fast, you saw 6 whole skyscrapers? there are literally hundreds being completed every month dear. They will be empty until the grounds are completed, the gardens planted and people will come very quickly because Shenzhen is a highly sought after City for workers. I lived there. you are talking about a city of 15 million people that was a fishing village 35 years ago, its growth is staggering. You have to understand how China works, they will build build build and are not in any rush to sell. It has the highest number of billionaires of any City in the world near enough, incredibly rich. Believe me when they are on sale they will sell. But it may well be the developers are not ready to sell, they might be developing the surrounding areas, parks, gardens, putting in facilities around it. There are many reasons. When they open, they will fill fast.

      Chinese people like to gamble. Go to any casino you know, and see what kind of people are there. CHinese people are also trade people, way back in ancient time in Tang dynasty, the silk road is the testament of it. The rich people bought these apartments with 1 intention, to rent it out later on so that when they get old, they have safety net. Shenzen is expensive place, the rent money is big enough to live somewhere else cheap. They are sold out, but a lot of these apartments will stay empty, making it impossible for "honest work honest pay" people to buy them. Country with people who like to gamble always has risks, this is one of them, you will see.

    • @MultiMyNickName
      @MultiMyNickName หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@handaxia1251 Honest workers can buy them just fine. I lived in Shenzhen and while there are super rich areas there are also very moderate areas dapeng area. Also in China loans and financing are easily available to people at very low rates so its not the issue you make it out to be. Most "honest workers" when they are in their 40s will have many houses. Where I work all the staff who handle the cleaning and cooking have 10,14 houses and come to work in Teslas. So I think you're a little out of sync with reality there. The pay in Shenzhen is also much higher than other cities so it evens out. The cost of living overall is very low in China so 90% of people are better off than Western equivalents. Even the gardener has more houses and money than I do mate.

Boring and enduriance. And you choice of eating yuntun noodle in a local working class restaurant, is a perfect demonstration of how this mass production ability is built on: affordable food.

    Hello in China, it is usually divided into motor vehicle roads and non motor vehicle lanes. Electric vehicles need to walk on the same side of the asphalt road as people, while sidewalks are usually higher than the road surface. If there are no non motorized lanes, electric bicycles need to be ridden on the higher parts of the road, especially in Shenzhen. So buddy, it's actually you walking on the non motorized lane. It is illegal for electric bicycles to walk on the motor vehicle lane.
    Some road surfaces do not have a green belt between the non motorized and motorized lanes, and in this case, the sidewalk is separate. Please pay attention to road markings.

    I have read your blog, it's great, very down-to-earth. Do you know what down-to-earth means? Because I also enjoy traveling in a down-to-earth way, which is to go to a scenic spot and walk around with my own feet, hoping to experience something different. Here is a suggestion for you. In fact, China's shared bicycles are very convenient. Riding a bicycle is more effortless than walking, and at the same time, it is also down-to-earth.

    I've been to 70+ countries and you surprised me a little saying China "Adventures" 😂 Because China is literally the easiest, safest and the most hassle-free (as everything works as it should be. I hate mishaps, aborted plans) country to travel in -- if you know the language! To me, Iraq, Syria, those are "adventures" but even in those countries, journeys would quite likely be 10 times easier if you speak Arabic.
    I always feel sorry for people who don't speak Chinese to travel in China because not only is that not convenient (duh), they also MISS OUT like AAA LOOOOT! Conversations with the locals, the events, the history of the civilization and the historical anecdotes in almost all scenic sites -- you never feel bored or lonely experiencing those!
    Same for France actually, French people are not rude at all -- if you speak good French.
    For these reasons, I'm really not hard-working enough by not working on my Dutch everyday, my goal for Dutch is to be able to talk with the farmers. Talking with the locals, just observing how they live their life and soaking the vibe are THE best things of travel.

    Look, nobody wants to live in an unfinished building, but when the building is finished, people will eventually get interested, buy it and start to live in there. Do not think everyone is like you. You may not like the look of the apartment because it has that 'Chinese' feel to it, but to Chinese people, those buildings are fine, and they WANT to live in there.
    I understand that you may compare it to your own house in your home country, and your house may look better and more comfortable than those apartments, but that doesnt justify you to claim that nobody will want to live in such apartment.

    When we go to USA, we should visit the Indians reservations and experience their food etc. If we still could find them or to the early american period places or the mafia period in NYC or Chicago etc., or in Europe, the early peasants day etc. How about that. Apparently, for most westerners, China shouldn't be seen as having modern city. No pictures of modern animities, or ours would look bad. Uh. 😅. Weird that being in shenzhen and not be impressed with its modernity😂
