In Japanese, the Ginyu Force legit call Vegeta "Vegeta-chan". An honorific you normally give to girls or _pets._ And Vegeta never outright reacts to it. That's how you KNOW he was scared. But the amount of disrespect the Ginyu Force have for everything is the best thing about them. Everyone is afraid of Freeza or Vegeta, meanwhile they're cringing it up right in front of them, smooth and confident as can be. Pure gold.

Videl has pretty much everything working against her that gohan does, and she is probably comparable in strength to potential unlocked gohan, if not lower

I still remember the 1st time I saw the Ginyu force arrive to planet Namek during the Frieza Saga. Sent chills down my spine. Each member having his own unique pose, goofiness & fighting style. The Namek saga will forever be my favorite saga of the entire Dragonball franchise.

I remember recently watching Dragon Ball Kai again after all these years and was absolutely shocked how quickly Guldo was dispatched. He died sooner than I remembered. Dude had the coolest powers on his team but lasted less than even Raditz. It's as if Toriyama has no idea how to handle psychic characters, evident by how he benched Chiaotzu from almost day one.
Not handling a psychic character how you want him to =/= not being able to handle them. He was killed by misdirection, the illusion that they would all fight in a specific order only for Vegeta to play dirty and blindside him. Simple and plain.

Aside from Frieza and Cold, they were the strongest fighters in the galaxy. Androids weren't built and Buu was in a ball, so Frieza really was the strongest for a good long while.
Man now this was the type of fights that got me hooked on this series, the fight animations, character designs, the brutality of the show, was absolutely intense. The saiyan and namek arcs were my absolute favorites 🔥🔥🔥🔥. DBS needs to bring back this kind of action, as well as the blood, which showcases how intense the fights actually are.

Most of them are overhyped, all these flashy colored effects with no blood or battle damaged output on the characters doesn't even showcase the brutality of the fights. Oh yeah and that ssj blue form to me doesn't look or feel godly to me. The ssj gold form is the OG transformation and is far more godly and iconic than that blue form. No fights in super come close to the rawness of DBZ. The Z Fighters vs Nappa, vegeta vs recoome, goku vs frieza man and let's not even talk about the early DBZ movies like Dead Zone, World's strongest, and Tree of Might. The martial arts and rawness in those movies absolutely smokes super in every aspect. The design and animations of DBZ especially the movies really showcases the characters looking strong, muscular, and in peak fighting condition, ki attacks looked and sound way more devastating like nuclear explosions. Not the bland little light effects ki attacks look in super.

Most of them are overhyped, all these flashy colored effects with no blood or battle damaged output on the characters doesn't even showcase the brutality of the fights. Oh yeah and that ssj blue form to me doesn't look or feel godly to me. The ssj gold form is the OG transformation and is far more godly and iconic than that blue form. No fights in super come close to the rawness of DBZ. The Z Fighters vs Nappa, vegeta vs recoome, goku vs frieza man and let's not even talk about the early DBZ movies like Dead Zone, World's strongest, and Tree of Might. The martial arts and rawness in those movies absolutely smokes super in every aspect. The design and animations of DBZ especially the movies really showcases the characters looking strong, muscular, and in peak fighting condition, ki attacks looked and sound way more devastating like nuclear explosions. Not the bland little light effects ki attacks look in super.

Man these episodes where rough on poor Gohan, first when he finds the Dragon Ball he takes time to burry every death Namekian in that village (at age five mind you), get's massive stranger danger from Vegeta before getting a knee strike to the gut, almost get's killed by Guldo of all people, before having to stall Reccome hoping for Goku to arrive and Reccome metaphorically playing with his food, before getting his neck broken and almost reaching King Yamma's desk.
And people wonder why he didn't really want to be a fighter for a living like his father.

You just *can't.* They're as goofy as they are lethal and you just *can. not.* separate the (black) comedy from them. They're explicitly a villainous parody of Sentai-type teams down to their theme song literally having the lyrics of choosing to have a chocolate parfait together and NOT sharing it with kids. The Pride Troopers are what you get when you suck all the charisma out of the Ginyu Force and notice NOBODY remembers that team as a team, just Jiren and Top.
